  1. I never really did group content while leveling even before 12x, or even xp boosts. I'm not sure what the problem is. Some people like leveling solo. I can understand why it would be frustrating if you're someone who prefers to level solely by group content such as flashpoints, but I'm not sure how harmful it is in the long run.
  2. WRATH OF KORRIBAN The Korriban 7th Armada—code named Wrath of Korriban—had been all but vanquished. Betrayed from within and left at the mercy of an entire Republic fleet, the indomitable Darth Vexos, Overlord of the Armada, consented to arrest and imprisonment in an effort to keep the rest of his forces alive. The scarred remnants of his feet scattered across the galaxy, either by choice or for the sake of simple survival. The death blow came in the form of the invasion. Nobody could have seen the Zakuul Empire coming, least of all the Armada already so decimated by the Republic. Retreating to a hidden compound on Yavin IV, the survivors set about preserving Sith knowledge and training acolytes away from the Zakuul-controlled Imperial worlds. Most instrumental in the construction of the compound was Olyvia Valthiris, the daughter of Darth Vexos. In his absence she became filled with her father’s passionate ambition, though hers was for the preservation of the Sith rather than for the Empire she felt betrayed them all. Obsessed with finding her father and their imprisoned allies, Olyvia finally succeeded in liberating and reuniting the rest of the survivors who pledged to follow her in her grand new vision. Emboldened by the bolstering of their forces, Olyvia inherited the title of Overlord and appointed Darth Hesperax, Darth Vedris, and Darth Hexx as her council. Unwilling to bow to the demands of the Zakuul and the twisted mimicry the Empire had become, she repurposed the Wrath of Korriban to be a movement rather than a fleet. Outwardly loyal to the Empire, the Wrath of Korriban is a shadowy cabal of likeminded Sith, soldiers, mercenaries, and even Republic sympathizers. The old divisions of Imperial society and Sith hierarchy are to be ignored in the face of eradicating this new threat to the entire galaxy. All are welcome, all are equal, so long as they follow one creed: Brothers in revenge. ----------------------------------------------------- OOC Information <Wrath of Korriban> is an 18+ heavy Sith RP guild on the Ebon Hawk (US), Sith side. We are a lore-focused guild and believe in adhering to the game’s canon. We provide a platform which embraces Sith, Imperial soldiers, hired guns, and “normal” people who just so happen to work for the Empire. Our guild RP takes place directly before the events of Game Update 4.0: Knights of the Fallen Empire. Our RP stays up to date with the official advancement of TOR’s timeline as new content is released. Since KOTFE takes place 5 years after Shadow of Revan, we have already advanced our internal guild timeline to compensate. We define heavy RP as a setting where RP takes place on a daily basis, though not all members are required to RP that often. Our goal is to provide an OOCly friendly and helpful environment for people to create their own stories based around an Imperial fleet and the forces who occupy it. We have a guild ship as well as several well-decorated strongholds dedicated to guild RP, including a fully unlocked and decorated Yavin compound. While we have private guild plotlines, we also RP with the server as a whole, since a large portion of our RP takes place on Korriban. We have a very strict no drama policy. We try to keep guild chat a stress-free place. We believe IC actions equal IC consequences and that the most important aspect of RP is upholding the line between IC and OOC. Freeform RP is our focus. Proactive RPers are a necessity. We regularly convene as a guild in certain locations for nightly RP, but you are also strongly encouraged to RP wherever and whenever you wish. Our guild is not heavily GM or event based--you are expected to create your own RP collaboratively with the rest of the guild. There is room for advancement within our ranks and we try to give every character type something fun to do. Any advancement in rank within the guild is expected to occur naturally through RP. We are not accepting Darth applicants at this time. When we say we are lore focused, we mean exactly that. You don’t have to know every detail of canon to be a good fit in this guild! However, you should make sure that your character is not violating anything major. All of our members are very willing to help with character concepts and lore. Within the guild, we preach equality and "brothers in revenge", meaning Sith and non-Sith are on pretty equal footing. But there is a "front" aspect to our RP which involves behaving in a lore-accurate way in Imperial space, which includes the concept of Sith superiority. This doesn’t mean the Sith are always the best combatants or in the right, but it does mean playing a bounty hunter who mouths off to Sith on Korriban and expects nothing bad to happen IC probably isn’t a very good fit. That said, we try hard to make sure non-Sith characters are not unjustly abused by Sith, since nobody likes their character constantly being beaten down for no reason. Wrath of Korriban is a guild storyline continuation of The Ebon Wraiths, Iniquitous Agenda and Collective, our previous guilds. Our storyline is constantly advancing and evolving, hence the changes in name! ----------------------------------------------------- Eligible Characters We are open for recruitment and are actively seeking members interested in RPing Sith as well as non-Sith. Something all characters must have in common is the willingness to oppose the Zakuul Empire as well as the direction the Sith Empire has taken in the wake of the invasion. We are searching for characters willing to aid us in our goals to return the Empire to its formal glory and eradicate the new threat. Truthfully, there are very few characters who could not work for us in some capacity. We need inquisitors, combatants, researchers, stealthy assassins, doctors, mad scientists, Imperial soldiers, ship officers, bounty hunters, mercenaries, slaves… you get the picture! ----------------------------------------------------- Gameplay (PvE & PvP) While our focus will always be on RP, we also play the game. This means we welcome members who are interested in playing the game as well as just RPing (but if you want to do nothing but RP, you are more than welcome!). Members are encouraged to work on leveling up, gearing, and endgame content such as PVP, flashpoints, and crafting. We are not currently running guild raids, but we would be open to it in the future. When we aren’t RPing, we routinely put together flashpoint and PVP groups, and also do dailies very often. ----------------------------------------------------- Join Us! 3. Rise of the Emperor ends with the destruction of Ziost and Ziost becomes a wasteland and new daily area. Have you gotten to that point?
  4. This is happening to me today too. I didn't do anything fancy, I just kept restarting the client and it finally worked. Very strange.
  5. While I agree with keeping it a subscriber reward I would also be in favor of them allowing him as a perk for future subscribers. For example, if you subscribe for 12 months you unlock Nico. That would be fair, and many games have a similar veteran reward system where you eventually gain rewards for months subscribed.
  6. He's strong enough to have stayed alive and on the Dark Council for 40 years.
  7. Nothing they posted has indicated companions won't do more damage as you level up. In fact they've said the opposite, several times, on top of Presence helping your companions do more damage. So..
  8. This is a 100% illogical assumption since nothing else in the game has been like that. I don't know why people are jumping to conclusions about KOTFE so hard. Literally all it is is more story. If you aren't locked into not doing old content after you do Makeb or SOR, you aren't going to be locked from doing old content after KOTFE. The one exception is that we'll be barred from completing unfinished class stories/possibly planetary arcs, but they have repeatedly said you'll be able to go back and visit old planets, do old quests, etc. This is a story based game. If you're level 40 and go back to a level 20 planet you're technically "time traveling", same as going from KOTFE to any pre-KOTFE content. Nowhere else in the game do they take away companions based on what planet/quest you're on, so...
  9. Nowhere did I say the rest of the world does not matter or that it's for Americans only. But it's ludicrous to expect a company to NOT give preferential treatment to the country it's based in. When the devs were in Germany for Gamescom, I stayed up til 3 am or something silly to watch the live broadcast of the new trailer. There's literally no way to make content accessible for everyone at the same time around the world. So they pick their 'home' country. The rest of the world still gets to see the exact same content, just not at their primetime, because it's not based in their country. I mean, sure, some movies release worldwide at the same time, but many first have a domestic release and then an international release after that. It's not them saying other countries don't matter, it's just... logical... or do you think it makes sense for a US based company to do livestreams at 3 AM so the UK sees it at prime time?
  10. It's a US based game, and the streams are always watchable after the show is over. I'll never get these complaints. I don't play, say, an Australian based game and then complain the times are inconvenient for me.
  11. Yep! From the moment a person joins a guild I talk to them as if they've always been there. Whenever I log in I say hi and proceed to chat with whoever's online. And yet, I've had new people be very quiet and barely speak only to later claim they feel left out, or just quit citing the reason that they aren't part of the "clique". I will never ever understand that mentality. My mind is still blown from the people earlier in the thread saying it's offensive for people who know each other to joke around and laugh in guild because inside jokes make them feel left out. Stick around long enough and you'll be part of those jokes. Til then, what on earth is obnoxious about people finding humor in life? I immediately feel more at ease when I join a group or guild and people are joking around vs people being super serious and uptight. It's a game, I don't want formal lol.
  12. Agree, I would prefer someone goes "The guild's not working out for me, bye" rather than just silently gquitting in front of a bunch of people online. It's just awkward and leaves guild leaders in the position of wondering if they should contact the person to ask why they left or leave them alone. I never hold a grudge from someone leaving my guild but I also think it's kind of disrespectful to leave without saying a peep. I don't need an essay, but a bye is nice.
  13. This is so accurate. I value my members but not at the expense of singling them out and pandering to them when I have a whole guild of people who are happy to contribute and participate. I don't mind if all someone does is log in and chat in guild chat, because that's still participation. Most of the people who wind up quitting my guild are the ones that sit in the background, silent, contributing nothing. I usually try to talk to them, always say hi when they log in, etc. If I barely get any responses I can already tell that person's not a great fit and will probably stealth quit one day. And I'm usually right.
  14. So anyone who does not share your experiences is clearly lying? Careful calling other people control freaks. This post reeks of narcissistic personality disorder, you know... thinking your way is the only right way and all that. I've never had much of an issue with guild leaders because I only join a guild after either knowing the GL for a while or researching the guild and deciding it meshes up with my playstyle. Of course, the fact that I CONFORM to the guild rather than trying to make it all about me minimizes drama too. I have to wonder how much of this "control freak GL" stereotype comes from members constantly second guessing the GL and trying to take over the guild. Yeah, my control freak comes out when someone thinks they know better and is super rude about the way we do things, or wants to drastically change the premise of the guild to suit them, etc. If it's not broke don't fix it for one whiny member.
  15. Yep, exactly. I think there's also a disconnect here in that guilds mean more to some people than others. If all you want is a guild tag over your head to give you the XP bonus and people to do raids or PVP with, then I can understand this push for "equality" more. But some guilds are very personal things and mean a lot to the guild leader and officers. My guild has been around since launch and is a roleplaying guild with nearly 4 years of history behind us. We have a guild ship, guild stronghold, money in the bank saving up for stuff, etc. We only have 3 main officers + 2 other people with invite/kick privileges. Yet we've maintained the same core member base for years. If we allowed everyone who joined access to officer functions it would become chaos quickly. All it takes is one disgruntled person to start kicking people, stealing from the bank, etc. In other words, there's different playstyles at play here too. I don't see why that's so hard for people to understand. My guild is my guild. It's a community that has leadership to ensure quality control. Of course I have more power in it than a brand new recruit. But I treat all new recruits equally aside from when it comes to official guild decisions and officer functions. /shrug
  16. This thread is wild. I have a job, I have responsibilities that actually matter. I also run a guild. Holding people's hands and catering to their fun over my own when I log in is NOT my priority or obligation as a guild leader. The guild is important in the sense that I care a lot about its reputation, what happens to it, its members, etc--but if a member makes themselves a problem and requires constant pandering I will tell them it's not a good fit for them and expect them to either conform or move on. So, what, guild members who know each other should keep from joking and having fun? We should all pretend we don't know each other just so new people don't feel left out? Do you see how unreasonable this is yet? New people can get involved. If they choose to stay silent and sulk, that's their problem, not the guild's. Exactly this. Not every guild is a good fit for every member. I have joined plenty of guilds that didn't work out for me in the end. Know what I did? I left. No, it's not. I will put the guild and the members who are happily part of that guild over the needs of a new person or a person who complains and wants the guild to cater to THEM, every time. The enjoyment of every single member of my guild is important to me, until they make themselves a problem. TL;DR: Whenever you join a social group, be it a guild in an MMO or a knitting club, you need to CONFORM. Find a group that matches what you want and then make an effort to FIT IN. Nobody likes special snowflakes and nobody has an obligation to pander to you. You're no more important than anyone else in the guild, and if everyone else is happy, chances are you're the person who's not a good fit.
  17. Ummm... yes they do, google Falleen lol. Plus the original Falleen introduced in the books, Xizor, was Leia's love interest and am pretty sure kissed her. I have been RPing Falleen for years so would love to see them in game.
  18. OP lost credibility the second he went in the "game is failing" direction. The game is not failing. If it was we wouldn't be getting expensive new content. Voice acting and Blur trailers are not cheap, making new raids is (in comparison)--they took the most expensive and time-intensive option and yet that's laziness and the sign of a doomed game for some people I guess. I do agree that communication for this game is positively TERRIBLE. They are doing a bad, bad job at maintaining the hype for KOTFE. All they have to do is toss us little tidbits to keep us wanting more but they aren't even doing that. So I agree they are their own worst enemy in terms of marketing but I do not agree this game is dying, or dead, or whatever else. My server is flourishing and everyone I know is excited for KOTFE and still having fun. The same names whining on the forums repeatedly does not reflect the whole community being up in arms and leaving over the addition of story (the most requested and neglected content since launch BTW).
  19. It's not really that weird if you think about it. It could be reworded to "work, relationships, hobbies" just as easily. If TOR is your main hobby there's no shame in that. It's only bad if it interferes in your job/relationships. I personally have several hobbies, which includes TOR, so I have to juggle them in addition to work and family obligations.
  20. I'd call that a guild I'd leave. But nothing else in this thread was about ninja looting until now, so my comments were not about ninja looting. As a guild leader of a RP/social guild I have been accused of there being "cliques" in the past which is what I was describing--with people sitting on the sidelines, ignoring offers to come PVP/RP/level/daily/etc, or even talk in guild chat, and yet complaining about cliques. Some people love to throw out the word clique when they don't get their way. Cliques are pretty much the main thing I try to avoid with my guild. While yes, I have personal friends in the guild, everyone's equal. It's a guild, it's supposed to be fun. If you want to get technical, I guess the guild itself is a "clique" and if you were recruited, congrats, you're part of it! But it still falls on people to pull their weight and interact as decent human beings and that's just beyond some people. My troll answer would be that that's why raiding guilds suck.
  21. I'm excited about Marr being a companion. Look at it this way. "The Outlander" is supposedly the savior of the galaxy. So why wouldn't Marr be involved with that person in some capacity? Our characters aren't random peons, we're all "the one", so it can make sense from a story standpoint. Hopefully the devs are being truthful about there being consequences for story choices, and them having an effect on if companions stick around though. I can see him temporarily allying with Republic characters, but not staying with a totally pro-Republic person. He should only stick around longterm if you're pro-Empire IMO.
  22. This, if by clique you mean a group of likeminded people who enjoy playing together. Honestly, a guild is a social group. Guild leaders aren't profiting off of running guilds and yet they're supposed to treat them like full time jobs with HR and customer service. My mindset is, I am very welcoming and friendly and inclusive to all new members, but if they make themselves a problem, demand special treatment, refuse to insert themselves with the group and interact and then cry clique, they can just go elsewhere. I'm not going to lose sleep over a person who isn't a good fit. That's not favoritism, it's just being practical. I'm here to have fun, not babysit.
  23. From the perspective of a guild leader, what some people call "cliques" and "favoritism" are in reality just the most proactive, friendly, and helpful members growing more popular than the members who like to sit on the sidelines contributing nothing aside from constant complaints about cliques.
  24. This doesn't make sense though. If I'm choosing to group with someone else it means I don't care/mind if they win the conversation rolls and therefore change my own story. If I only want to play a story a certain way and would get upset if I lost a roll, I just would play solo. Removing the option for groups doesn't make any sense considering quests like Makeb or the normal non-class quests or even flashpoints. And usually people would be grouping with friends to do class stories, not total random strangers. I can accept that it's too late at this point for them to change it so groups can do them, but I'm still really really disappointed in it. IMO it was more fun to have the random element of a team mate's own choices having an impact rather than micromanaging everything and therefore having no unexpected turns.
  25. I really do agree. I do plenty of solo leveling, but my first play through new content, I always do it with my SO. It was really fun seeing our characters in cutscenes together and rolling for conversations... it seems like they're leaving the entire social dialog system behind. I find it very disappointing. I mean, stories like Makeb had different outcomes depending upon what you did, yet you could still do it 100% grouped.
