  1. If you hover over the yellow thing next to your xp bar, that will be explained to you.
  2. I'm sympathetic to that, but I think they could still have added one or two skins for synthweaving and armormech while still keeping the CM relevant. I mean, even if the schematics came from the CM that'd be a step forward.
  3. I would agree with that if the reputation had any other rewards other than cartel market items. All it does is provide a way to get items incrementally rather than gamble on an individual pack. Though I will say the the CM does hurt the game to a degree. Crafting is still in a pretty mediocre place right now, and a lot of those cosmetic skins could have been created as schematics for crafters, including color crystals for artificers and mounts for cybertechs.
  4. Yeah I wish they had posted it in more TZ's...
  5. Why would they implement a title that gives you an incentive to not give them money?
  6. To me, that actually makes the decision less comprehensible. Your simply encouraging people to play at the times when the server load is already the highest. I simply don't understand why they don't make the xp bonus last all week long.
  7. I don't really see how this is so different from having cartel packs for sale. It just means instead of using a completely random roll for an item you have an incremental progression. It looks to me like BW decided they need to prevent the cartel market interface from becoming too bloated and decided that this was a way they could get things off the CM itself without removing them from the game.
  8. I'd love a recount-style dps meter, even if it is self-only. It'd be a lot more convenient than trying to use online parsers. It's simply a tool for those of us who want to try to optimize our performance.
  9. Industry standard has generally been to require purchase of previous expansions to get the newest ones, though there are often bundled deals.
  10. Just a minor gripe... I like the boost, and I'm happy you guys did it. However, I can't figure out what the rationale for limiting it to weekends is. People obviously have their free time at different points during the week, and I don't see why you'd want to encourage playing more at the times that the most people are playing anyway. Thanks for the xp boost, I just feel that this one aspect should be reconsidered.
  11. I think it tells us that their target release date is near there. I just wouldn't count on it actually happening. In my years of playing MMO's I've rarely seen a publisher actually meet their targeted date for new content, and I think that's why they haven't actually announced it.
  12. 1. "Despite vocal opposition from thousands of angry gamers" Thousands? What's the source on that? How many thousands? 2. "The gay planet" That's not true. The way the article is written makes it sound (especially by the use of the word "segregated") that there's some sort of geographical restriction on SGRA. That's not the case. You'll pick up companions with those options on Makeb, but you'll be able to pursue those dialogue options wherever your character might be, on the fleet, on your ship, or Nar Shadaa. 3. "In a heated debate on the company’s webservers, the topic received more attention than the ongoing drought on Tatooine or the Empire’s latest Death Star." The Empire's latest Death Star? I think that's proof positive that whoever wrote the article has never played TOR and knows absolutely nothing about it. 4. "Publisher Electronic Arts has been wrestling with the issue for months, after promising in April 2012to stand up against what was described as “several thousand” letters and emails protesting the inclusion of same sex content in its games." "what was described" Described by whom? It might actually be true, but any legitimate news story would source that statement. Ultimately, I think if you read the story a couple times it becomes clear that they're not actually covering the game itself, they're covering the forum discussion. The only sources they cite are company folks and unnamed forum posters. They didn't even make a cursory attempt at learning about the game, and I think it really shows.
  13. I'm sure they'll lose some players. I'm sure they'll also gain some players who appreciate the statement they're making. And I'm even more sure that the vast majority of players will base their decision on whether or not play the game based on whether or not they judge it to be the most fun they're having at the time. I mean seriously, there are some musicians whose politics I strongly disagree with, but it doesn't stop me from enjoying their music. At most it means I may not copy a particular song to two to my iPod. Same here. SGRA is a feature that some people will love and enjoy, and a lot of people like myself who don't particular care about it, or may even dislike it, will simply play the game and not use that feature.
  14. Basically what happened was that Fox News used their standard level of research (little to none) and produced the following comically uninformed article: http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2013/01/14/star-wars-game-segregates-gay-characters-on-gay-planet/ I haven't seen it spread that much, but I suppose a lot of your friends who don't play the game actually fell for it.
  15. Noxxic isn't quite terrible but I don't like it, and here's why: When I played WoW I relied on Elitist Jerks a lot for guides, and the nice thing about the site was that there was detailed discussion of the math behind the prescribed specs and rotations, and multiple people checking that math. Noxxic, instead of providing reasons, gives only mere assertions. That means that when I look at a spec and it doesn't quite make sense to me, I have no way of figuring out whether I'm missing something or the author is. They apparently expect us to take the stat priorities on blind faith. I have yet to see the evidence that they're reliable enough to warrant that.
  16. What I think would be a fairly simple solution would be for BW to add the stuff you have to go to the fleet for to the capital planets. That would primarily mean adding group quest/PvP terminal, FP and ops entrances and exits, and endgame gear vendors. They already have GTN access, class trainers and crafting trainers, so that should make capitals a viable alternative to the fleet.
  17. There are no 2-handed lightsabers in the game. Shadows and Assassins use the DBL mainhand and focus/shield offhand.
  18. I get a kick out of owning a pet that chases trucks and runs from vacuums.
  19. Not by only doing class quests, but I've found that using groupfinder makes leveling a lot faster. They give a good chunk of xp, especially if you've bought the perk to improve it. But beyond that, after a few of them you start to outgear the area you're in pretty handily, so while you may still have to do sidequests, you can sail through them.
  20. No weekly cap: http://dulfy.net/2013/02/22/swtor-pvp-gearing-changes-in-2-0/
  21. Well, if you wait until the information is released you don't get the pre-gripe discount.
  22. Generally speaking. This is why you don't listen to wannabe lawyers. They ignore key qualifiers.
  23. The Gree event will eventually be obsolete, after the content becomes trivialized. Honestly, I don't really care how the do it, but I would love to have set bonuses available without the preset appearances throughout the game.
  24. New shells are all well and good, I'm glad for all the people who enjoy the new appearances available in 1.7. In the future, I think events could serve to fill a huge gap. I've played since launch, and on my main I largely kept an appearance I enjoyed, until I hit endgame, Then my Sith Warrior had to walk around looking like Robocop through a few tiers of gear before I could get Campaign armorings and go back to the appearance I wanted. I think the next event should have 126 and 136 armoring with the set bonus attached, so that people can maintain the appearance they want throughout their gameplay.
  25. We had a thread about this a few days ago. It even got a yellow response. Basically the consensus is that it happens when you come here from Google, no one's sure why, but it's not a big deal since you can click a couple times and get back to English.
