  1. I understand your frustration. This is the result of the new direction of scoundrels/ops have been taken since 3.0 came out. We traded burst damage for survivability. Now we are some wierd combination of off-healer and delayed burst stealth class. But hey we make great node gaurds, and ball runners, which is apparently what a lot of people here think we should focus on. This class is about as close to a bard as you get in swtor, with the exception of the only buff we give is ****** heals. If you want to play a real stealth class Sin/Shadow is as close to one you will get.
  2. Even the good news is disappointing to me. Its hard to board any kind of hype train when your still nursing burns from the last one. Lets hope they dont eff this up like the last one, and actually promote seperation of groups. All the current maps are packed to close together. I just hope its spread out over a larger area than all the other maps. Its a long shot, but I can hope cant i.
  3. The Datamining for 2.0 had us getting shadow step , a buff to demo charge, and various other changes. Not the case in either scenario. All I remember after 2.0 was that they were so far off it wasnt even funny. ould seem, so I will accept that. but 2.0 data mining were not accurate. Either way I was wrong to question them this time, and thats all that really matters. I still take data-mining as half-truths, but given the effort on the devs side, what you see in the data mines will probably be all you get, as those notes are really abysmal for a staff that is supposed to be bigger to help support the expansion. Then again it wouldnt surprise me that this is really half of what was supposed to be in 3.0, and they delayed it for the movie release. Question is now, why the hell are they messing with lethality.... cant wait for them to figure it out though, sub is going to run out before the next patch.
  4. Its wise to consider data mined information dubious at best. SWTOR data mining has about a 50% success rate as of yet. And usually the actual changes that come out are substantially different that what was mined.
  5. i admire your dedication to your cause. Hell I even support it, but the whole spamming topics thing is just a waste of time. I think we have had 2 yellow posts in the past 2 years outside of season rewards and announcements. Ever since that one developer had his kids threatened they just don't come here anymore. TO stay on topic though, I also dont think they are to quick to make changes to the game period as much of the balancing is done around casual gameplay, which to me onnly incorporates solo mode flashpoints and the storyline quest.
  6. Your guys play is ok, but really both videos were pretty underwhelming. Nothing against you as players, but ruffian/lethality is pretty boring to watch.
  7. Or those classes are boring as hell to play, and the fact that i am playing my mirror means thats their little to variation in gameplay. but stick to the topic man, this thread is not about balancing classes.
  8. The only time I thinks its considered an insult is when the other team completely stomps you into the ground, and then they say GG.
  9. The only thing that is apparent here is that your idea is blows. If they ever do implement twos, it will fail just as hard as 4s. Then what...you are going to ask for dueling arenas? Bot matches? Also balance in swtor could be a lot closer. Will there always be that one class that performs better..sure, but right now balance is heavily skewed towards a few select classes in almost all categories. Edit: minor change to a statement
  10. This wont fixed ranked. I am not onboard with your idea, and heres why. Ranked blows because balance blows. You want to fix ranked, you fix balance first. for the record I would love to see more modes, but 2v2 is only going to be fun for like 3 or 4 specs, and the rest are not going to que up. In fact any solution that involves more qeues is most likely a ****** idea.
  11. I doubt anyone plays an MMO because they make a sweet node gaurd. Node gaurd should be a secondary role someone should play, not the primary. If I que as dps, I should be viable for my dps. If I que as heals, I should be viable because of my healing. I understand that excellent players should have the ability to excel by performing above by doing more than just putting up numbers, but the average pvper/player should feel that they can go mid, or fight with the group, and at least have some purpose in a scrap. Right now Op/Sco's place is as far away from the scrum as you can get. I dont know of many people who would even find it remotely entertaining. It is not fun watching paint dry on a node, especially when you should be perfectly capable of wrecking face. Hell the only reason we make a good node guard is because of stealth.
  12. Node Gaurd is not a valid role for any class. The fact that you get annoyed when you see a dps operative actually try to dps speaks volumes about how borked the class actually is. Off heals is the only thing the class has going for it, but without any real damage threat, there is no point in bringing one into a match. Expecially if your premading it up, their are much better options. My merc is more fun to play than my scoundrel at the moment. With my op it seems like people are content with ignoring me if they have a healer working with them.
  13. Operatives. So hot right now.
  14. good video, but the quality of your opponents is seriously bad. on one of the 2v1s i am pretty sure the only thing that one of your opponents do was spam his auto attack, while the other looked like he had trouble finding his abilities as he probably got one off every 6 seconds or so. Also defensive cooldowns were near non existant on nearly all of your opponents. I dont know. I made videos that showcased me pwning newbs but I would rather watch fights where both sides were using everything they could. Its probably why I like watching the dueling tourney vids so much. Usually showcases how people fight against people who can fight back. Though I do like watching people wreck people, and with scoundrel where its at right now, the chances of finding videos of scoundrels wrecking people are slim to none. Still a good video though. Excellent editing. Adding to my favorites and look forward to further videos. Edit: added more **** to the post cause i wanted to.
  15. Damage, healing and tanking are about the only three class types I can think of. Support roles are not really a thing, as support by a class is usually limited to off heals. Marauders are pretty much the only class thatr comes to mind when thinking about support classes, with abilities like predation and the like, but beyond that no one really has anything the benefits the entire team, except off heals, and the like(sage bubble). But even with marauders no one is going to bring one in because of their support rolls into pvp. with arenas being limited to 4 people, two of those typcally being tank and healer, the only reason to bring a marauder in, is if he can hold his own end in terms of putting out damage, as hes pretty much half the equation. Classes are unbalanced right now. A dps class should be near as effective as another dps class in terms of raw output. With the way things are now, that is not the case. Only a few classes can generate the output needed to perform well as a dps. PvP metagame is not really condusive to support roles, unless those support roles push out stellar damage. If areans were 5 mans, or if pvp maps were big enough to actually encourage different playstyles and mutiple roles instead of the cluster that it is now, then maybe support would be something, but right now its all about damage, tanking and healing, their is no support roles.
  16. Dragon Age inquisition is nice, even if you haven't played the previous ones(I actually started with DAI and then went back to the beginning). The story line and immersion are pretty good too. ME is probably one of the better games on the market throughout the entire series. Witcher 3 has great story-line but after playing Assassins creed for so long, I am kind of tired of the engine and battle mechanics that come with both games(though witcher seems a lot more varied) Assassins creed is pretty much the same game throughout with more rpg elements seeping in as time goes on, but the story line is amazing, if not extremely long. This last one is still pretty good, but the gameplay is pretty worn out by now. Fallout 4 is pretty awesome right now. The game can seem pretty overwhelming at first though with all the options you have from the start. But the game is interesting as hell. Also wanted to mention Rocket league which in my book is one of the more fun games out this year, even if its not a RPG.
  17. Pretty sure the devs dont even open the threads any more, they just see a thread to nerf operatives and roll with it.

    PvP and Datacrons

I was about to comment, but I have no clue on how datacrons work with the changes to mainstats being mastery now instead of cunning stregnth etc. However before, having all the datacrons collected equates to the amount of stats gained when upgrading from a green to a purple I think it equated out to be around 60 or 70 mainstat after all the expansions.
  19. I dont know of anytime I have had it while playing concealment, but when I am healing, or for those rare times I play as ruffian its just as prevelant as it always was. Not saying it never happens, but I feel that its probably atleast a lot less prevalent.
  20. Originally Scrapper Scoundrels handled a lot like a Rogue from wow. Lots of front end burst, it was suceptability to damage, and the rotation had a focus on compressing damage upfront in exchange for weak sustained damage. The class revolved around being a hit and run class, if things didnt turn out well, an op/sco would favor escape over continuing the fight. The issues that surrounded this was that theirs a fine line between being too bursty and not being bursty enough. In 2.0 more focus was put on making the class more viable for sustained damage. Unfortunately this didnt jive well with those whole "glass cannon" traits that were the jist of the class. So a lot of people started asking for buffs to survivability, thinking it would fix the class. Unfortunately this is not the case. Our entire class was designed around being hit and run.. Right now our class is more favoring the sustained damage rotation. Our abilities were orignally designed for lining up a burst phase, not for staying in the fight for long periods of time. With the changes we have sustained so far we are about halfway through the change. Most of our problems revolve around not being able to maintain sustained damage, as our control periods are too short, or too expensive(resolve wise) to really be effective. If we are to be effective as sustained damage players, we need abilities that prevent our enemies from escaping, or a less rigid timeline in which to stack our debuffs, as it currently stands now, no op is going to be able to get through more than 3 GCDs without some form of interuption happening, and we really dont sart to do damage until we can get 4 or five uninterupted abilities off in succession. Even with a stun its nearly impossible to accomplish. This means we never ever really get o apply full damage or even partial damage until we are fully whitebarred. So until we actually see some changes to our stun meta, or our damage meta, operatives/scoundrels will continue to be bottom tier classes relagated to the honor that is being node gaurd/hutball runner.
  21. Its actually common practice to see this done. Many smaller developers will lease out IT assets from third parties, as a startup or small company wont have the infrastructure or funds to own/operate a fully functional Data Center. Leasing out also tends to be the better option for riskier operations as you can cut costs very easily without having to fire/hire people which in most countries is full of legalities.
  22. On topic. Good idea, I think it could help pvp alteast a little. in relation to the quote, practically everyone knows what the cardinal directions are. You dont need to be a cartographer to use a map. Use east and west and 95% of the people in game will know which way to go, or if you use left and right and most people will still be able to figure it out. Voidstar makes me laugh though. If its more than 2 you dont need to call out how many, just say inc, need help. theirs only two sides in a map, if they arent on one side, they are on the other, I can see someone not recognizing that theirs only 6 attackers,, but if you have to let your team know that the other half of the enemy is on your side, your team has bigger issues than team mates who are unable to communicate inc.
  23. The only way we are ever going to see dps scoundrels get into ranked or even real competetive play on any level, is if the class gets some serious QoL improvements to how our class plays and applies damage. Surge is only half the problem. The class was immensly tough to play in ranked, and the only people I ever saw do any good at it, spent a great deal of time applying heals, and rolling through damage. I dont see many people enjoying that kind of gameplay, and it seems cheap for a dps toon to achieve more through healing, than actual dps in arenas.
  24. sage super bubble purges it. only ability that does. but it does purge it.
  25. I miss a lot of things the class had before 3.0 hit. Shoot First, K.O, Freighter Flyby, Sabotage charge. They aint coming back though, most likely we will just get some surge back.....if anything. We could go the way of the commando and stay crap for three expansions.
