  1. While I understand that flying mounts are not practical in a theme-park game, I am flabbergasted that *anyone* would be opposed to faster speeders. The fact that speeders in this game only go (more or less) twice as fast as the player can sprint is the biggest joke and greatest shame of this game. Cars built in the last century can easily go 20 or 30 times as fast as a person can, and do it all day long, yet our high-tech speeders can't ? What was the basis of this ridiculous design decision? It should have started out at least 4x (300%), and the xpac should have contained the option to unlock speeds of 400% and 500% (with 400% possibly free to monthly subscribers. IMO, this was second only to non-moveable UI panes as the most ridiculous design decision of the game at release. And while the fixed UI problem has been fixed, the speeder joke remains the same even today.
  2. I'm sure that this has been beaten to death, but as a responsible adult, a monthly subscriber, and a Founder, I still want to get my two cents in. There was a lot of shamefully stupid design in the original game (and as a retired software designer and engineer, I have the experience and knowledge to make that comment). Some of it, like non-moveable panes in the UI, has been fixed. But one of the worst decisions that has never been addressed is the 90/100/110% speed increase for speeders. As a fat old grandpaw, I walk about 2 mph, but even an Olympian running a mile in 4 minutes is only doing 15 mph (which they can't sustain for more than, well...4 minutes), whereas current cars cruise easily at 60 mph all day long. The speeder speeds should have started at not less than 300%, and bumped up after that. Even 300% is only 4x times as fast as the player can Sprint, which is also silly, since a real speeder would be much faster than that. This should have rectified looooong ago. To make matters worse, they came out with an expansion that *still* didn't improve it. If they had fixed the original speeds before the xpac, they could have added even faster speeds to the xpac. The best way to do this would have been to give the xpac speed increases free to subscribers, and then also make them available to the rest of the player base as CC unlocks. They missed not only a huge player good will opportunity here, but a nice income opportunity. I know that since this game is a theme park (another horrible design decision, but I won't go into it here), flying mounts are not really practical. So instead, give us the speeder increases I have outlined above.
  3. Please make more items Bind to Legacy rather than just bound to the player. It would help a lot in the care and feeding of alts.
  4. I tried both, but they just didn't come close to the Op/Scoundrel classes (for me). Having to give up both stealth/sneak *and* heal for the (questionable) coolness of dual wield and some amount of DPS increase was not good enough for me. Also, I hated the whole "crouch" thing....I played my Op and my Scoundrel as melee and never used crouch/shield.
  5. I recently re-subbed after a vacation of over a year, so I not only have tons of rested xp, I also have a bunch of those consumable xp boosters. Also, I have heard it said that subscribers get some type of xp boost (that might just be rested xp, not sure). So my question is: does all this stuff stack, or does *any* of it stack ? Or does the fact that I have over a year of rested xp means the July 1-7 double xp will not help me ?
  6. I was an original early-access player, leveled a couple of toons to 50 and raided until my eyes almost bled. Then my guild fell apart, as guilds tend to do, and I left for GW2. A year and a half later, I am back to check out the new xpac and level cap. Back then, I made some pretty decent cash selling companion gifts and crafting then selling ship upgrades. I actually had several million credits.... Now I'm back and I see items routinely advertised for a million credits and up, making me think that today's in-game economy is vastly different from the old days I remember. So I would appreciate some advice on what to focus my efforts on to earn credits in the millions. I saw one guy say that he could generate a million credits "in a jiffy, or maybe two". I've just been re-subbed a couple of days, so I have just barely begun to figure out how the game has changed. Any friendly advice would be greatly appreciated....thanks !!!!
  7. This is a legitimate question, not a troll. I just returned to the game after about 1.5 yrs. Apparently the economy has changed a lot - how does one go about getting a million credits in a relatively small number of jiffies ? I for one would like to get started down that path.
  8. I just re-subbed after being out of game for over a year. I made a new Sith Warrior on Ebon Hawk because I wanted to try an RP server. When I tried to do a LFG for one of the Heroic quests, nothing appeared in the Gen Chat box. I then tried to send a tell to another player, but that did not show up either. I have tried Yelling as well, but it didn't show up either. I feel like a total noob....I know this has to be something really simple, but I am stumped. BTW, I signed on one of my old toons on the old server and they work just fine. I sure would appreciate a sanity check....

  12. The tooltip for this ability says that it causes a flash of light that blinds all nearby enemies for 3 seconds when your bubble ends. Does this work in PvP and, if so, do it work if the bubble is killed prematurely due to damage, or just when the bubble times out. If the latter, this should be a killer talent for PvP....
  13. Thank you !!! I already knew what I had to do to complete the Sentinel story line, so it wasn't a spoiler, and it answered my question. It is a PitA, since the unlock bonuses would be helpful in leveling, but at least I know why I can't complete her yet.
  14. I have maxed (Legacy unlocked) Rusk, T7, and Lord Scourge on my level 39 Sentinel, but cannot get Kira to complete her story, thus unlocking her portrait and bonus under Legacy. She is at 10,000/10,000 Affection, but will not talk to me. I have told her I love her and asked her to marry me, pretty sure I boinked her at least once, unless we played dominoes during that cut scene blackout. What else can I do with this chick to finish her storyline....what am I missing ?

  16. I have the PTS title "First Line of Defense". I have heard there is a second title for finishing Chapter One on the PTS. Does anyone know what the title is, and if it is still available, or did the titles end with the rollout of 1.2 ? Thankd !!!
  17. I am doubly amazed...first, that you have not fixed the maddening companion earpiece/implant Endurance bug, and secondly, that no one mentioned it in last week's thread or this thread. Having to take these 3 pieces of equipment off my companion and put them back on every single time I get off my speeder has pretty much killed my enjoyment of this otherwise lovely game. Please let us know when you are going to fix this, and also, why it has not been fixed up to now. As a retired software developer, this impresses me as the kind of monumental "oops" regression that you pull programmers out of bed and back from vacation for and issue a hot-fix as soon as humanly possible. I am flabbergasted that it is still an active bug. I know there is some negative in this post, but I challenge you to include it in the next Q&A Blog and answer it !!!

Ya'll can spam L2P all you want, but the fact of the matter is that my Commando, and his companion, are big sissies since 1.2 (and it seems like it has actually gotten worse with the subsequent mini-patches). I was amazed and appalled when I played him the day after 1.2 rolled out. In his first 48 levels, he might have died twice, and that was when I was playing with one eye and watching TV with the other. It's like he is wearing paper armor...his health and the companion's health just crashes in seconds. I died 5 times today at 50 doing my bonus series (aggro radius seems larger, as well, but maybe it just feels that way when you are a super-wuss). Once I finish his class story, he is going on the shelf until some un-nerfs come along. When I started the game, I planned for Trooper to be my main, but those dreams were dashed by 1.2. And btw, both my Commando and his companion have excellent gear and weapons....
  19. Other than saying cool things, the only advantage to Forex is that he is a tank (so is Vik, but you get him last). Use him when you absolutely *must* have a tank, but the problem with him is that he requires his own set of gear. Don't spend any cash buying gear for him, but some quests will offer droid items, if so, take that item to upgrade his gear as you level (remember that although green gear is almost worthless in this game, moddable green droid items are no different from the orange items....their worth depends on the mods you put in them). Here is what I did, and what I recommend to you when leveling and money is tight...build one set of good Aim gear. Then you can swap the gear between your companions - Jorgen or Dorne, and later Yuun and Vik as well - depending on whether you need heals or DPS (or a tank, once you get Vik). The only thing that is not universal is weapon - Jorgen uses Assault Cannon, Yuun and Vik can share the same Techblade, and Dorne and Forex can share the same Blaster Pistol (Forex can also use a rifle, but in this game blaster pistols and rifles have the same DPS...doh). I have used this scheme all the way to 50 and it has served me well while saving a lot of my credits.
  20. Ok, so if I'm reading it right, the main Corellia quest is given by the guy just inside the exit to the spaceport. I remember doing this one on my Sage....it is loooooong and involved and I wind up saving Corelia. I don't really wanna do that again, but it looks like Katreyn is saying I have to, either to get the daily quests or the bonus series (XavinNydek says they are one and the same). Can someone clarify? Do I *really* have to do that long involved Corelia non-class quest chain to get the daily quests there ? Thanks for the replies !!!!
  21. #1 is FPs, #2 is heroics. Your poll wouldn't let me click more than one item, so I selected all of the above, even though I don't think it is needed for ops. I would suggest that you start with just FPs and possibly heroics, and see how it is received and how it works. And for the love of God, please DO NOT EVER make it cross-server. That completely ruined WoW....don't listen to any arguments people put forward in favor of it...no matter how loud the babies cry, it is a terrible idea!!!!!
  22. OK, my Commando is level 49.8 and just got sent to Corelia (too many space missions....and too many doughnuts, from the looks of him). I want to finish my class story as soon as possible so I can start dailys on all 3 planets. I am supposed to rendevous with my hot granny general in a local cantina (hmmm....), but there are two quest-givers in the spaceport. Am I hurting my chances to get any of the daily quests later by skipping them ? I want to do only my class quest on the last 3 planets (I already have a 50)...
  23. Oops, I was mistaken....I just got sent to Corelia, not Belsavis. So I guess I have to finish class story on Corelia, and will still have to go to Belsavis after that. Looks like I am a pretty long way from starting dailys of any kind, even though I am 49.8 now and will surely ding 50 on Corelia.... Thanks for your reply...
