  1. I think you make some excellent points!!
  2. Dark Age of Camelot (DAoC) had armor dyes at release, and weapon dyes were added later. Dye prices ranged from 1 silver to 30 gold (30 gold was a TON of money then). The 30 gold dyes were Black, Cardinal Red, Royal Red, and a couple other really super colors. For example, you could buy Charcoal dye for 6 gold, which looked kind of black, but to get a really good black, it cost you 30g. And this was per armor piece. And yes, this resulted in a whole gob of stealthers in solid black armor (there was an urban legend in DAoC that solid black made you harder to detect by other stealthers - Mythic tried for years to dispel it), but at least those guys had a *choice* in their appearance. Several of the low-level items were a really puky green color, so I spent 1 silver many times to make them light blue. It was amazing how even a few silver could make you look better.... Also, crafters could make all the dyes, for example, the 30 gold dyes cost 20 to make, so a crafter could sell them for 21-25 gold and make a bit of money. Later, some fancier dyes were added that were crafter only. Bottom line is, BW may not want to do it, but they can't say they can't do it due to some graphics card problem or limitation, since Mythic was doing it in 2001 (Mythic did say they couldn't do a white dye due to graphic card problems or limitations or some such). And it really *did* make a difference in how people looked, as well as make a difference in how they *felt* about how they looked....
  3. Why does my Grade 4 Missile Magazine say "Missile bay now holds 90 missiles", but every time I run a space mission, I start with 86 missiles ?
  4. Please change the lizard man (Fess) so he can use other classes of melee weapons besides Techblade. This is too limited, not enough drops, and crafters price the few Techblades that they can make abnormally high because of this. Just add Techstaff and/or Electrostaff and/or Vibrosword to the types of items he can use, and he'll be fine.
  5. I want to make the purple ship upgrades (I am 400 CyberTech and have all the schematics). For one piece, I need Mandalorian Iron, which is a purple Grade 6 Underworld Metal. The other 4 pieces take Promethium, which is a purple Grade 5 UW Metal. I understand that these metals are only acquired via Underworld Trading (UT) missions (not counting buying from another player, of course). I have two questions about the mission process of acquiring these metals: 1. I have a toon with UT maxed, but because I didn't know much about Crew Skills when I started playing (who did?), this toon does not have any plus to Crit or Efficiency in UT. I have heard or read somewhere that the only way the pink UT metals can be obtained is if the toon on the UT mission has +CRITICAL in UT, i.e., the pink metals are only obtaining by "crit'ing" on the mission. Is this true ? 2. TorHead lists the UT missions that (supposedly) return these two metals - 9 missions for Promethium and 7 for Mand. Iron. Looking at my Crew Skills window for UT, I see one mission for each listed, along with other missions. Is this because the missions listed rotate on some type of known or random daily pattern, or are the other missions only available via the single-use mission drops ? Thanks for any and all help !!!
  6. Thanks - have been looking high and low for this info !!!!
  7. I just dinged my first Legacy level. Got a message on the screen, and then....nada. I was kind of expecting....something. Anyone have any info on this ?
  8. Come on, guys, this should be a no-brainer!! In Kaas City, I have to leave the cantina and run waaaay over to the market in order to find a mailbox. If cantinas are where we are supposed to park out toons to rest, then we should be able to send and receive mail from there. Thanks!!!!
  9. Please let us add alts to the friends list, so they will show up in the drop-down box when we compose mail. If you can't easily do this, then have the drop-down box remember previous destinations, perhaps the last 3 or 4, or just have it remember all your alts on the current server. This would not only be a great help, but would reduce erroneous sends. Thanks !!!
  10. Yup, my first hard drive was an Apple Profile. It was external, about the size of a cereal box laying on its side, held 5 MEGABYTES, and cost $2000. It attached to our Apple ][s and IIIs, and we were dang glad to get it. I remember a couple of years later being astounded when the IBM XT came out. I whole 10 MEGABYTES of HDD space, and internal as well? OMG!!!!
  11. My system is: - i2600K OC'd to 4.2 gHz - HD 6950 (1 GB) - single 1 TD HDD - 8 GB RAM - Win 7 I have a 23.5" LCD screen and run at 1920 x 1080, which is native. You do *not* need 2 GB of video RAM unless you wanna run higher than 1920. You do *not* need 2 video cards to run this game - it adds nothing but complexity to your system. You also do not need a raid system for performance, or unless you are super paranoid about data security (yes, I know that is two different types of raid systems). And you do not need water cooling for this system. If you wanna build your own system, go for it. If not, do *not* buy Dell or Gateway or any other crap like that. I had my system custom-built with components I selected by Digital Storms Online. They not only include a 3-year warranty with their systems (something Dell and the others now make you pay extra for), along with free life-time 24x7 tech support, but they will OC your CPU (for free up to 4.4 gHz) and include it in the warranty!!! I recommend DSO to anyone who doesn't desire to build their own systems, and no, I don't work for them. EDIT: forgot to mention performance. I get 110 FPS most of the times. I do see it drop to half that (55-60) in certain places that have been mentioned, but not all that often, and I have never had my performance be a problem or detract from game play. My system does not overheat from playing SWToR, and I have played for 6 hours or more non-stop.
  12. Please drop Sprint to level 10, when we get our advanced class, and speeder to either level 20 or when we get our ship. There is no need to make us plod miserably around for 14 levels, and no need to wait to use a speeder till level 25. Please do this and make the game more enjoyable and less tedious....thanks!!!!
  13. Hey guys, I can understand that it might be reasonable to warn a player when they initially choose a PvP server, and do the "Are you sure?" thing and all, but once I have 4 or 5 toons on that server and go there every day, it seems a bit redundant. Reckon you could add the little "Don't warn me about this any more" check box like I have seen in other circumstances ? Thanks!!!
  14. My Sage just dinged 36, and her played is 4:21:32. Not sure what that means, other than I am leveling 3 alts in sequence..... EDIT: my level 31.5 Commando is 4:17:39, and my 28 Scoundrel is 2:22:42. I also have two AH mules in their teens....
  15. I would like to suggest that when we equip an item and it "binds" to us, "Bound" changes to "Bound to account", so that when we are done with an item, we could pass it on to an alt who could use it. This would be particularly useful for droid armor and ship armor, which are *quite* expensive on my server. I have 5 toons on that server, and it would be a *big* deal if I could pass these items down to lower-level toons when I replace them with higher level items. Thanks for a great game !!!!
  16. Ok, first off, thanks for the "Founder" title. That being said, I would like to suggest that you change it from a post-name title to a pre-name title. Take my character Woofer, for example. I think "Founder Woofer" looks and sounds waaaay better than "Woofer, Founder". Now if it was "Woofer, Founder of the First Dynasty" or some such, it would be different, but just "Woofer, Founder" kind of stumbles off my tongue. Try it on your own (tongue) and see if you don't agree. To prevent tons of whining, why not just let us choose either format from the Title drop-down box. Thanks !!!!
  17. Since we're on the subject of chapters, could someone point me to something informative on the subject? I thought my Consular Chapter 1 would end around level 20-ish, but I'm almost 36 now and still in Chapter 1. At this rate, how could there be more than 2 chapters ?
  18. I absolutely adore my lizard buddy Fess. I cannot see me ever voluntarily using another companion - he just oozes honor and class. I suspect that if he knew how funny I found him, he would be offended, since he is serious as a heart attack about everything. I pretty much love everything he has to say, but my favorite is something along the lines of "Skin itchy...perhaps moult coming". Cracks me up every time!!! And I love how he calls me "Herald" and reminds me that he's got my back....
  19. I didn't want to start a new thread to mention this, but I will do so here. I read so many fanboys not wanting to make things easier and/or insisting that things are kept "realistic". I bet every one of them uses his Fleet Pass w/e he needs to, never stopping to think about the ridiculousness (is that even a word?) of the fact that you flew your ship to a planet, then you use your Fleet Pass to magically beam to the space station from anywhere in the galaxy, pretty much instantly, and when you get there, you find your ship parked and waiting for you!!! Don't any of you "realism" idiots ever speak to me again!!!
  20. A perfect example of the sterile surroundings (for lack of a better term) or lack of realistic interaction/reaction is this quest I just did on Alderann. I was supposed to overload the weapons lifter. When I did, it went amok and ran into a nearby building with a load of bombs. The entire building exploded and went up in flames. When the flames died down a bit, the 3 enemy troopers that were standing in front of the building were still standing there in the rubble, flames all around them, completely uninjured and not a hair out of place. I see this kind of silliness over and over. Did none of the developers play Morrowind ?
  21. I was delighted to get my wookie companion, not only because of the lore (and I was looking forward to getting rid of that whiny tree-hugger Corso), but because I thought I would be getting a monster tank to front for me. Now that I have him, I am disappointed to find that I spend most of my time healing him because he is so squishy. Yes, I went to GTN and got him the best gear I could find there. He has 6235 HP to Corso's 5825 (level 28), and 1968 AF to Corso's 1585. Anyone have any idea why he can't beat an equal-level Strong w/o heals, or why I can barely keep him alive against multiple simultaneous mobs ?
