  1. The pale rakling can be purchased by your 50 and mailed to any of your alts. I did and got my level 3 smuggler a pale pet to follow him around.
  2. Break out the ankle guards! Protect yourselves!
  3. I like it, mainly because I can see what the rewards are before I even start doing them, and if I don't like the rewards, I don't have to participate in the event. But, if there's something that strikes my fancy (for instance, the color crystal or the little vanity pet or the armor pieces...whatever) then I have something specific to work towards when I log in. And if not, then I can simply level up an alt or do whatever I was doing before the world event started. It's not like it's mandatory. Doing it or not doing it doesn't hurt anyone. Nobody's forcing anyone to partake of it. It's a good event that can either occupy your time or not. It's completely up to each player. That's how all events should be, imho. If someone is looking for the next upgrade in gear or items or whatever, that's what patches should be for, not individual events.
  4. I have 2 level 50's now and I've long since discovered it's simply easier for me to do the solo dailies on both (Ilum, Belsavis, and now Corellia) and I get them both done in the time it would have taken me to find enough to do just ONE 4-man heroic. It's just not worth my time to bother with the H2 and H4's now when I can get all the legacy exp and cash I need from just doing the dailies I can do by myself.
  5. Well, to be honest, you don't have to spend a dime. The Rakghoul disease really doesn't do any damage, so I usually just ignore it and go about my business. The only part where it even remotely interrupts are at the very end when your character stops whatever its doing and 'pukes'...and then, of course, when it explodes and dies. Ta-da...instantly cleared up. Now, after you die, you can just self-rez yourself right there on the spot and keep playing, or you can take a quick trip to the nearest medic droid. Either way, dying by the plague doesn't damage your armor in any way (that i've heard), so you're really not losing anything but a couple minutes of play time.
  6. Exactly. I just love it when some wannabe techie tells me, who builds computers, that the machine I built that handled the game perfectly fine since I put it together for the Dec. 20 launch suddenly has a poor RAM, CPU, or HDD. Sorry, you don't know my computer. I do. Pre 1.2 I could log into a planet fairly quickly. Now...I have to wait 2 to 3 minutes. The problem is not *my computer*, it is the game / server.
  7. That's what I thought. I'm getting it for my Sage and my Kira / Nadia companions as they wear light armor anyway, but I figured I'd just collect the dna instead of the armor pieces for my Sentinel. Thanks.
  8. Yeah...I should have looked a bit further before posting. Just a couple minutes after I posted that, I found the answer :/ Oh well, live and learn, I suppose. Edit: Next question. Since these armor pieces are light armor, are they as good as medium/heavy modable pieces or do those offer better protection / armor rating?
  9. Just out of curiosity... I see the armor reward pieces for the legs, feet, hands, and head. Is there a robe/torso piece, too?
  10. I read that and the first thought that came into my mind was Ben Kenobi's quote about 'from a certain point of view'. I actually laughed out loud when I realized it.
  11. I'd like to see the prequel trilogy of novels made into decent movies.
  12. As a DPS sage, I tried fighting him with Qyzen. Failed. Tried with Nadia. Failed. Finally brought out Tharan. Success. I basically turned off all of Tharan's offensive capabilities so he would focus mainly on healing me. When I attacked, I made sure to keep my Force Armor and dots (Mind Crush and Weaken Mind) up at all times. Started off with Project and Disturbance to get some quick damage on him, then repeated TK throw non stop. Did not worry about interrupting anything Syo did UNTIL the ground started shaking. That's the cue that he's bringing the roof down on you. Even with Tharan healing, I still got down to about 10% life at one point...used a medpac for that...but other than that one scare, I don't think I was ever in any real danger. Holiday was invaluable with her random stun appearances which helped my heals from Tharan as I wasn't taking any damage for those few seconds. By the time the fight ended, I was around 90% health. And this was without level 50 gear on Tharan. Most was low 40's gear, but I figured since I was there I'd give it a shot before going up to the Fleet to get him new equipment.
  13. No offense taken. The point I was trying to make in the first part was that from the point of view of the general populations of both Republic and Empire, I feel that it is believed that the Emperor is dead. That's just the feeling I get from having looked at both sides. On the Republic side, even the title scroll that you see when logging in says that the Emperor is dead (for my JK, anyway), so I think that's what the majority of the Republic believes. On the Empire side, I get the feeling that the SW story makes it seem like ONLY the SW (and those closely associated with that storyline) understand that the Emperor is, in fact, alive. I could be mistaken, but that's how it looks to me. As for the second part, I understand that the Inquisitor becomes a member of the Dark Council, but in my Jedi Knight after-50 storyline, the quest I get after killing Lord Loyat and Darth Arho, Darth Malgus makes an Empire-wide announcement that the Republic picks up where he declares the Council has been disbanded. I know the Sith are notorious for misleading people, so while the Council does, in fact, continue on with the SI as a part of it, he's making a very public announcement to the contrary. That was the point I was trying to make in how the Republic and Empire might perceive their respective statuses and how it could lead to Empire losing the war. Mind you, these are all events that take place after the 3rd chapters are completed and are optional quests, but I was using them as examples.
  14. I'd like Bela ******* as a companion. It would be really interesting, seeing as how the Jedi Knight got her former apprentice as his/her padawan, and then as the JK grows stronger, becomes the equal to, if not more powerful than, Bela, which would make her the subordinate of the Knight who nabbed her apprentice. Imagine the dynamic of this for a dark side JK and the antagonistic possibilities. Edit: why did it censor out Bela K.i.w.i.i.k.s last name?
  15. Hmm, well if you can marry your companion in the storylines, I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to be placed in your family tree as your spouse. One thought I had that I don't think would ever happen due to the time involved in implenting it would to be given the opportunity (once you reach a certain Legacy level) to replace any of your companions with an NPC of your choice. I hear on the Empire side that a lot of people would love to have Thana Vesh as a companion. I think it would be very cool to dump one of the more annoying/worthless/useless companions at, say, Legacy level 20 (or 30 if 20 is too easy to reach) and recruit Thana in their place. Of course, this would only work if you didn't kill Thana in your storyline. Just a wishful thought, I suppose.
  16. Hmm, how do the Sith lose the war? According to the Jedi Knight storyline, the JK kills the Emperor. Now, I don't think they (or the majority of the Empire) realize it's not his real body, so the Republic see's this as utter victory while the Empire see's it as a major demoralizing blow. The Jedi Consular storyline defeats the Children of the Emperor which I think were intended to subvert the Republic from within. Another victory that spells the end of the Empire. (Not sure how the Empire side views this, at the moment. Haven't played that far along on that side). At the end of the JK storyline, Darth Malgus claims the Dark Council has been dissolved and that he's creating a new Empire. I haven't gone into this part yet, but according to Wookieepedia, he loses and has to flee into the Unknown Regions (or something to that affect). Those are just 3 points that I can name off the top of my head that reveal that the Empire lost this war.
  17. Before 1.2 I did dailies on Ilum and Belsavis...and I thought Legacy exp leveled up pretty quick. I made it to Legacy level 19 before the new patch. After 1.2, I did the solo dailies on Ilum and Belsavis as usual and added in the Corellia dailies...reached level 20 in only a few days. I just got a second character to level 50 today and I imagine that if I go about doing them on both toons, I'll earn Legacy exp twice as fast. Then, of course, you do earn tiny amounts as you level up alts.
  18. Just fought Loyat on my 50 Sentinel. First, as stated above, clear EVERYTHING out of the cave before even looking at Loyat. Leave her and her two immediate bodyguards for last. If you don't, any mobs remaining will come to her aid. If you find yourself overwhelmed at any time, haul *** out of the instance, heal yourself, and go back in. Mobs you've already killed will not respawn and you can pick up where you left off. When I fought Loyat, I killed her two companions first, then ran out of the instance to heal myself and my companion before going back in for her. As a Sentinel, I used my healer companion, Doc. I made sure to turn off all his offensive abilities so he only focused on healing me. Pop a stim. It helps. Hit Loyat hard. Everytime she uses her time abilities, interrupt. Fortunately, in my fight, she only used 3 and they were spaced out far enough that my Force Kick was back up each time. Didn't have to use Force Stasis or Awe at all (unlike my previous failed fights with her). Beat her relatively easy. The two most important points of this fight are to 1) kill everything first, and 2) use interrupts.
  19. The opening fly-over scene of A New Hope, where you see the enormous star destroyer chasing Princess Leia's little ship. That one scene utterly drew me in and I've been hooked ever since.
  20. My Kira and Nadia's lightsabers are always lit up (even when on my ship). It's a little aggravating hearing the constant hum of their weapons when running around, and the only ways I can turn them off at the moment are to 1) hop on my little speeder, 2) get a different companion, 3) un-equip their weapons, or 4) turn off my sound. Hope this gets fixed soon.
  21. I found all the toolbars and stuff, but I'm having trouble locating where/how to resize and move them to where I want them. Anyone able to help? Edit: nevermind, found this thread that had the answers: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=400335
  22. Evidence of a crash that won't occur for thousands of years?
  23. My funniest kill was, unfortunately, myself First time in Dromund Kaas city and was bouncing around not paying attention...and jumped into one of the bottomless pits in the city. My character screamed all the way to her death. Oh, and yes, this was on my Marauder, not Jedi, but I have a 50 Sentinel and was reading this thread and just had to comment.
  24. I believe that when you start as a level 1 character, it's 3,643 BBY (based on when certain characters you meet along the way die, according to their date of death on wookieepedia) and when you reach 50, it's 3,641 BBY (again, based on wookieepedia for characters to kill in your upper 40's to 50) So, in my opinion, it spans 2 years.
