Many builds back it was suppose to be your offhand weapon but tied to specific abilities that required it. I don't think it's tied to your rifle damage though, we tried to test in beta but using a scoundrel instead. Found with or without your blaster pistol the backblast damage was about the same on average (other than the cunning/tech damage adjustment from the pistol being equiped). The scattergun seemed to give a hit or boost though if you equipped/unequipped it. The scattergun should be in the same category as the knife since they are mirror classes. Still pretty hard to get real test numbers since there are no combat parsers in game. Wish we could just get BW to confirm. I'd be happy to help test it out though, I have a few different knives in the bank.

It's a buff and should be treated as such. Can you imagine that thing being always on? You would get a permanent DoT and armor debuff on all Hidden Strikes and Backstabs. Then everyone would come here and scream about nerfing us again. But yea, I did something similar in beta. Just setup a macro so Acid Blade activated before every Backstab.

Not totally true, unless they changed something for live. The dps stat does affect your melee abilities. So Shiv, Backstab, Lacerate will all get a boost from the dps rating on a good knife. If you don't use a knife you are just doing the base damage of the ability, the knife will add to it.

I am hoping the tooltip is just bugged, since my scoundrel's Flechette round has a completely different description and in beta it was a buff. This should be the correct tooltip - http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#401.1 It also should not consume TA. Edit - Zerikin beat me to it

If you roll full concealment and go for max dps you don't need to waste points on Incisive Action. Coming out of stealth, Hidden Strike grants TA, then hit Shiv you get your next TA. Acid Blade will poison your target, also nail them with your dart if you think the fight will drag out and you need extra poison tics. If you have TO spec'd, Lacerate will re-grant TA when used so you will pretty much always have it up. All your blade attack damage is affected by what your knife dps rating is. So Shiv, Lacerate and Hidden Strike all get damage modifiers off it. Think of it as an offhand weapon that is ability activated. Obviously if you're not spec'd Concealment, the dps rating is not as important and it's more of a stat stick. I've not seen any different skins for it, the only time you see it is when it magically appears executing an ability.

In beta it worked all the time. I remember racing some friends to test it and I always outran them when we both had sprint up. So it did stack with sprint. Not sure about live, I'd have to race someone again. I think it does though because I do seem to be pulling ahead of people when we are doing open world quests. It does stack with sprint while your in stealth for live, that I am sure of. It also seems to work in combat.

Yea, it doesn't work in PvP. Headshot doesn't work either.

Endgame too. If you go with something like this for max DPS, there is no room for those 2 points. Queue is close to 600 on Jung Ma just after midnight. Going to sleep, will queue up when I get home from work tomorrow, maybe I will be in before I have to go to bed again I have toons on 3 other servers and cannot get to them either, Star Wars : The Queue Republic.

I don't think they are going to do any enforcement unless the name is very offensive. That said, we have quite a few gems on Jung Ma. In fact I ran into "HanJobba" and "Booty'Hunter" over the weekend. That is just the tip of the iceberg, there are plenty of other ridiculous names over there. Walk your toon around and you will find a couple every few minutes.

When your free mount is useless you can go buy the lvl 50 one from the VIP access vendor...for 1.5 million credits.

I saw HanJobba on the PvP-RP server over the weekend. There are quite a few other gems over there too. It really doesn't look like they are enforcing any type of name policy right now.

The Clone Wars have begun

Game crashed, queue is about 900 on Jung Ma w/ 55+ min to get back in. So I figured play another toon since I have more on 2 other servers, both of them have a 30+ min wait. Woot!

With all the ridiculous names, people talking about Chuck Norris and other stupid crap in general chat on Jung Ma, you'd have no idea it's a RP server. Seems more like the vanilla PvP server to me.

11/29 here, and I am now hopeful with the latest wave update post today.

Not bad, I thought they were only up to the 5870 so far for Mac support. Thanks for the info. I'll stick with my GeForce 580GTX SLI though.

There are OSX games out there. - http://store.steampowered.com/browse/mac WoW eventually put out a Mac client too I think, but most of the other stuff available are older PC and console games that no one plays anymore. In the long run though, if your a serious gamer you buy a PC. There aren't any good video cards available for a Mac anyways.

Buy a real computer so you can play? Sorry, had to give them a hard time. Seriously, just run Bootcamp or Fusion and don't be stubborn about it. That's what the 5 or so people running Macs in beta did and they seemed to have no issues. The game does not require a lot to run so even those old ATI cards in most Macs out there should be able to handle it.

There will be plenty of 50s by the 20th. In beta quite a few folks were level 50 in less than 5 days after each build was released. I know most of my fellow guildies that got in yesterday are already in their high 20s. I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the 40-50 range by the weekend.
