  1. Maybe this thread should get a sticky. There's a lot of very useful pointers here! On the topic of communication: You and your squadron have to practice this, learn the maps, work out land marks to help guide your buddies to your position if you need assistance. But as it was pointed out before, it isn't an "instant win" it takes time, practice, and refinement! Your personal skill matters a lot, so practice, practice, practice! "FOTM builds" don't mean jack if the pilot can't figure out which way is up and which way is down. No matter how good your fighter is, the better pilot will always win! Also remember when NOT to fight, this has been pointed out, but it can't be stressed enough, don't try to fight against the odds. There's no shame in running away and coming back when the odds are in your favor. The winner of a fight will always be the one who carefully chooses the time and place for a battle, and always fights where he or she will have the advantage. For example, scouts are very agile, fight Gunships where you can take cover behind debris or structures and render their railguns useless. If you're a Gunship pilot, don't even try and take on a good scout pilot in such an environment, keep a good distance and pick off pilots who get careless and wander off from their squadrons. Also, in the words of pilots around the world: "Never trade luck for skill"
  2. WTFast works for many people. Though, some game companies do give bans if you're using the same IP as gold/credit/whatever farming bots. So use at your own risk.
  3. Very true, don't go out and try to get all the kills, get some friends on Skype with you and communicate, keep someone busy chasing you while your buddies come in from behind and take him out.
  4. Post your tips! PRACTICE! PRACTICE PRACTICE! Don't get frustrated and say it's really bad after your first few games. Some people will get it quick, others need about 10-20 games before they get used to the controls. The other big factor is learning to think in three dimensions! Don't just stay at the same altitude, in space, you have literally infinite directions in which to flee, don't be like the rebels in Empire Strikes Back and flee straight into the Star Destroyers! Finally, have patience in combat, don't try to rush in and kill someone, take your time about it, land a few good hits and then start evading, check around you and see who else is attacking you and evade them. Flying is an art, this isn't a ground Warzone where you can just stun lock someone to death, this actually takes some intellect. It's like playing chess, tactics! The balance excuse doesn't apply here, YOU have to fly right or die.
  5. OH YES! YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES! WOOOOO! HOOOOO! I LOVE YOU BIOWARE! I was just on the verge of quitting and now I'm staying!
  6. Reskin stuff and repackage them into more CM packs for us to gamble on.
  7. Right now, good dyes can cost tens of millions. It's really silly.
  8. Posting in support of this thread. This change would be amazing for Roleplay and would enhance immersion by several orders of magnitude!
  9. Perhaps I should point out that, every Developer who ever spoke up for RP, ever fought for RP, or gave a damn about RP, got laid off before F2P. They're quite happy to leave the RP crowd in obscurity, we're a minority in this game, I would dare say that 1 in every 50 players is a Roleplayer. So yes, they don't notice us, they don't cater to us. I very much doubt if any RP issues even get discussed at their staff meetings. When was the last time an RP feature got put into the game? And I don't mean Cartel Market junk designed to milk the players for money. When was the last time a core game mechanic was implemented which caters to the RP players? Someone please just name one if you can.
  10. Someone who gets it. Thank you for being here among this crowd of Intellectual Giants.
  11. Don't worry, they'll put an off hand in the next pack so you can gamble more and be milked for cash.
  12. Yeah, I sold my Kolto Tank when they became bind on use. That gave them even less value imo.
  13. Dev Dispatch video about Companion Characters.
  14. Neither has being nice. Don't forget you're dealing with a company which laid off all the devs and staff who actually fought for RP additions to this game.
  15. Because that would require some effort, foresight, and, dare I say it, a desire to show the RP community that they actually give a damn.
  16. And that's why we don't get anything nice. Because you don't speak up, you don't get mad, you don't stand up and be counted. Like a good little sheep, you take what scraps you're given out of the garbage, and you say "Thank you, may I have another?" People like you are not only what's wrong with the RP community, or the game, you're what's wrong with the whole Human race. Please don't ever wander into a voting booth if that's how you think, you're only going to do more harm than good.
  17. Yet another BioFail. Won't be buying any packs this time around. For RP players, this game is just one let down after another. Chat Bubbles, Hood Toggle, Armor Dye system, nickel and dime recustomization... Throw us a bone here guys! And stop trying to defend these stupid regen toys! Carbonite Chamber, Kolto Tank, and now this Chair, all should last until canceled, not a pathetic ten seconds. All the best things they could have ever done for RP in SWTOR, pissed away on some idiot's stupid idea.
  18. Give us the ability to mix and match colors as we please. It isn't too much to ask. All they have to do is provide all the colors as primary and secondary and let us load the colors into a dye module as we please.
  19. I would have liked to have had colors made individually so they can be loaded into a mod according to individual tastes. Like if I want White/Purple, or Black/Pink, Pink/Purple, Blue/Red whatever. The system right now is limited to what some desk jockey thinks I want, I have no control over which color combination I get to use in my Dye Modules.
  20. Can we expect updates to the game's story? New in game events? I'd love to see more content centered around the war between the Republic and the Empire, we are, and should be each others primary focus. Dailies, flash points, raids, all based around fighting on the "Front Lines" you can never have too much of this content, there's a whole Galaxy at war out there and we're all sitting on the fleet doing nothing. =( For daily missions, I'd love to see more of them on some of the front line planets, maybe a new high level zone for dailies on Balmorra, Alderaan, Belsavis, and all the contested worlds. Right now the only thing with the primary focus on the war is the space combat, the ground aspect of the game is all over the place and we're lacking direction in the story. Also... DARTH MARR FOR EMPEROR!
  21. The design pattern on the mask seems to differ from one Sith to another, perhaps the pattern is indicative of lineage, status, rank, or personal taste? If this is indeed the case, I would love it if they would make more of these masks with different artwork and patterns, this is one area they can go crazy with!
  22. I'd just like to point out that what you get in the preview window, isn't what you get when you unify colors in game. I tried to unify to a black chest, and I get something horrid looking, but they look fine in the preview window. Is this a bug, if so, when can we expect a fix? The boots look so cool and I want to keep using them, but, the improper color matching is an eyesore. =(
  23. I took a look, and if you unify the Valiant Jedi gloves, boots, belt, and legs, you get more of what the Sith Armor set should look like. If the chest armor was silver, it would be PERFECT. Try it out and see, I think that's about what the Eradicator armor color scheme should be to make it better.
  24. I like that this set is in, we've been asking for it and wishing for it since we saw the original cinematic, but, I don't think this implementation of it does the original any justice. Some black armor is nice for the game, but the original had silver armor, not black, and on that alone, it's off the mark for the intention. If the intention was to put this armor out, as is, then this is where I feel the ball was dropped: It's too dark, way too dark. Being this black, it becomes an eyesore in my opinion. You can't see any of the details on it. It's just very bland. I think some red lights like the Scalene armor on some of the bits of the gloves would help make things pop. Also turning it all dark grey instead of jet black would also help get some details out. It needs to be more decorative, right now, it's just so hard to see, you have to look very close to see all the details. I think there's just potential that wasn't really lived up to. Perhaps with some gathered feedback on the set, it can be improved, so what does everyone else think? EDIT: After thought. The boots don't really fit with a Sith themed armor set. I think the ones from the Destroyer set are more iconic for Sith Armor, I tried to unify those to the Eradicator's set, but they stay silver. Anyway, I just think the metal bits should be chromed out instead of being jet black.
