  1. Although what you're saying is correct, that particular "update" was months ago. There's nothing wrong with asking for further information. Many of us want to get our legacies put back together. We HAVE been waiting patiently, but there is a limit...
  2. It's absolutely KILLING me how long it's taking to make this available to us. I'm a patient guy, but I'd like an idea of how long it's going to be. I'm in a new guild on a new server and I'm missing out on a lot of things because my Legacy is on another server. I'm willing to PAY for it! I just want to move them, PLEASE! Talk to us?
  3. Transfers are completely voluntary. Nobody is being forced to move to another server if they don't want to. We have no information as of right now about what transfers are going to be available to us after the initial free transfers or WHEN they will be available. I'm unaware of any plans to close the origin servers or merge them or whatever. It hasn't been made clear to us at this time. The initial transfers were to allow players to move to a more populated server so they could more easily form groups for flashpoints, warzones, etc. If that isn't your thing, you can stay where you are. If you WANT to play on a populated server, you have a FREE opportunity to move there and play with more people, the only possible cost being the loss of your character names because someone else already had them. It's up to you to determine if having those names are more important than actually playing the game the way you want to play it. They didn't allow us to pick where WE wanted to go, because their intention, first and foremost, was to build up specific servers to a specific amount. To allow us to chose the destination at this point would defeat their ability to determine which servers to transfer where and be able to determine what the eventual population will become (not too full and not too empty). I hope this helps some, but all in all, there isn't as much information about what's going on as there is pure speculation.
  4. No interest in Guild Wars 2. I'm sure it's a fine game and I don't blame ANYONE for being frustrated enough to take off and try new games, but I'm a Sci-Fi fan and a Star Wars fan. This game is what I have for now and I love it. Warts and all... So my ONLY choice is to be patient. I honestly have no idea why it seems to take so long to get the most important things done in this game. I'm perfectly willing to pay to transfer my characters to the server I want them on if that's the only option for me. But I pray that Bioware will come to an understanding that due to the LONG wait on the population problems, many of us were forced to abandon our primary characters and re-roll on populated servers. In some cases, such as mine, re-rolling had us experiment on different server types. My two 50's with my built-up legacy are trapped on a PvE server right now, but I've discovered that I enjoy the PvP environment better. I've also discovered a guild that i enjoy playing with. None of which I would have discovered if the server population hadn't been SO spread out for SO long. Like other fans of the game, we wanted it to succeed, so we remained loyal to the company and never let our subscriptions run out and had to "make do" with what we had to keep playing the game. I just hope Bioware will show some loyalty back to us. I'm not one for throwing tantrums to get what I want (you posters know who you are). I make do with what I have. ...and so I wait...
  5. And everyone knows, undead or not, anyone who spells it "Vampyres" should still be staked... "I KEED! I KEED!" - Triumph the Insult Comic Dog
  6. That's what known as "Video Game Natural Selection"...
  7. TheForce.Net got me on April Fools day with a special 2 disc Blu-Ray release of "The Star Wars Holiday Special". They had a picture of the set including discs, books, photos, packaging. I was all excited... then REALLY disappointed. But I still laughed. I especially liked the part about Chewbacca and R2-D2 doing commentary. Hilarious! I can't find the ORIGINAL ad, but here's a look at the packaging!
  8. ::clicks stopwatch:: Second response into the thread and we have the nasty "I'm going to be clever and insult you" post! ...spectacular!
  9. Hey Allison, I have an idea, how about some kind of "stickied" FAQ so people can easily review questions which have already been answered. Then if someone asks again, we can reference them to the post.
  10. Yeah, this was briliiantly titled like a "tabloid article" that says one thing to get you to read it and themn you realize the article is completely different and the title was just "cleverly worded". But I agree. There have been problems, but they are working on them and the game has improved greatly since release. They aren't getting a fraction of the credit they deserve. Haters gonna hate...
  11. Ultimately, you are talking about $.50 a day. It's up to you to determine if what you are doing and playing is worth 2 quarters every day. Seeing as how I play at least 4 days a week, $3.50 for 4 days worth of entertainment is STELLAR to me. The game has been out 6 months, to complain that updates are coming out too slow is a little on the silly side.
  12. Well, first of all, we don't know when the paid transfers are going to happen, or how MUCH they will cost or even if they WILL cost anything (although most likely, they will). It wasn't hurting anything to leave them where they were until you found out some definite answers. Your solution to "delete them" was a tad more permanent and seemed a little hasty. Although, if I'm not mistaken, sometimes you can contact customer service, and they may be able to recover them. I currently have joined a guild on a PvP server and my mains are currently trapped on a PvE server. While things were dead, I rolled on more populated servers and decided to experiment with PvP. I found I like it much better. But since I've put so much work into building up a legacy, I just left them for now, hoping that soon we will get some kind of information on what Bioware is going to do to allow us to merge legacies. I would hope that Bioware would consider free transfers to unite the legacies that we fractured by re-rolling to keep our subscription fees coming in and making the game playable. Especially for those of us who stayed with them through the hard times, but I'm honestly not expecting it. If I have to pay to move them I guess I'll figure out how to manage it. But until we get some kind of information (*cough* ...Community Team... *cough*) I'm back to that weird limbo area I was before waiting for the current FREE transfers. Since both of my servers were destination servers, this particular round didn't help me other than having a much more playable population (which was the company's intention). With Legacies being such a "stand out feature" for this game, I hope they consider a way to help us get our legacies where they should be, and help them with some of the hurt feelings within the community So back to the waiting game....
  13. Even if it isn't an issue with clicking vendors, it makes the station FAR too cluttered. One large speeder can completely cover 4 characters. I don't want to look at your speeder all the time.
  14. Absolutely agree. there's no point to having Speeders on a space station. It should be completely disabled.
  15. I don't think you needed to "delete" them. It wasn't required for you to transfer ANY of them, and you could have just transferred the ones you wanted and leave the others behind until either transfers are made available to OTHER servers or the amount of character slots are increased (which is in the works), then you could have brought more over.
  16. Does anyone know if the EU Star Wars Comics are available digitally?
  17. Awesome! Lots of choices! I'll probably look into the "Truce at Bakura" and the Thrawn Trilogy to start. Thanks for the help guys.
  18. If I were to start reading some of the Star Wars Expanded Universe books, where would be a good place to start?
  19. Will we be seeing a mentoring/side-kicking system any time soon? It's very helpful in bringing friends into the game when I don't have to roll a whole new toon to play with them and be certain to play whenever they play to be certain we don't outlevel each other.
  20. Whether it's a forum post or an individual vote, the results would be the same - you would only get the opinion of those who bother to participate. If someone doesn't speak up for what they want, the developers cannot act (when feasible) on it. A poll would only make it easier to see the "desires" of the community in one "simple to find" place. And I personally believe it would be viewed as a more solid attempt at communication with the subscribers rather than one "cut and paste" response among every hundred player posts.
  21. I guess I can understand what you are saying about the community raging about "ignoring the will of the people". But it's happening either way, I wouldn't use that as a reason to NOT incorporate a polling system. Even if they have a vote list showing what the community wants the most and the developers believe that it's not something they want to do, they will still respond to it and explain why. As it is now, they are responding to individual posts by people who may (or may not) represent what the majority actually wants. And whether or not they can or WANT to do it, I'm certain they would still like a quantifiable look at what is most important to the community. And it's not always about the subscribers opinions versus the developer's. Sometimes it can be the subscribers versus the subscribers. As you can see in many of these posts, the community can't often agree what they think is the most important to them, so how does the community team get a clear picture? I just thought it might make a better tool than just sorting through hundreds of forum posts.
