  1. Ever since the patch, I seem to have a problem logging into the game. I can enter my username and password (and authentication) and then it goes to the "Shadow of Revan" title page and just sits there, if I click on it (windowed version) I'll get the "Not Responding" message at the top. I've already removed and re-installed the game and rebooted a couple of times and it just keeps happening the same way. Is anyone else having this issue?
  2. Just curious as to how YOU determine what is of the "most importance to a game"? As has been stated before there was some kind of indiscernable references about hoods and voice modulation, but how do those classify as MORE important to the community at large than growing the number of subscriptions, thus bringing more money into the game? And also, why does it have to be one or the other? Why can't they all be implemenented? Are you so upset about hoods and helmet voices that the idea of any OTHER features becomes threatening?
  3. Also, there are always situations where you, as the higher level guy, can't log on the same night as your friend, so they play alone and out level your character. Then it ends up going back and forth with one character not being the right level to play together. And you have to play a low level alone to try and catch up. It's unnecessary. It has nothing to do with what kind of "friend" you are.
  4. In City of Heroes and City of Villains, they had both "side-kicking" (bringing a lower level character up to YOUR level for the few abilities they had) and "exemplaring" (bringing the higher level character down to the level of the lower character so you could run their missions without affecting their XP). They also had a "debt system" when your character died, you would have a certain percentage or amount of your XP bar that would gather XP at 1/2 of the rate until the "debt" was paid off. "Exemplaring" didn't get XP for the higher level character doing lower level missions, but DID allow them to work off the XP Debt they may have incurred, so it benefited the higher level toons to run with the lower level ones. Personally, I have attempted to join my friends in their favorite MMOs, but with me having lower characters, we couldn't play together, so my desire to keep playing quickly left. I think it does make it difficult to try to keep a lower level character JUST to play with a friend if there are circumstances when one can get on and not the other, one of them always tends to out level the other and make it difficult to play together! Isn't playing WITH your friends one of the most important things to keep all of us playing and bringing in new players?
  5. I have heard talk of implementing a system that would allow high level characters to run missions alongside low level characters, similar to the "sidekick" system from City of Heroes/City of Villains. I think this would be a fantastic idea and it would definitely make it easier for us to help YOU guys (Bioware) grow the game by bringing in our friends and being able to play WITH them without having to delete a character on a full roster to re-roll a new character we possibly wouldn't want to play. It's a benefit to those new players who are coming in and want to play WITH their friends and it would also be a benefit to your established players who maybe have no real interest in re-running a story mode they may have already beaten once or twice (if not more). Although the story mode is fun and helps reate immersion in the game, once you've run it a few times, it tends to lose its charm. Aside from being able to help our "lowbie" brothers and sisters, it also allows us higher level characters a reason to roam the lower planets and possibly gather some crafting supplies or maybe we can think up some other benefits to "high levels" helping the lowbies (if playing with their friends isn't reward enough). I'd love to hear some ideas by other players on making this a viable reality. I think it's a VERY necessary tool to help grow the game. Is there any progress on Bioware's side or an approximate timeline on implementing this?
  6. I'm not sure if the apple version is the same or if anyone else is having this problem, but I can't log into the game with an authenticator key if it's going to constantly show the numbers in BLACK on a BLACK background. I have called customer support, have uninstalled and re-installed the authenticator multiple times and it will work a few times and then go right back to showing the numbers in black on a dark background. I have to try MULTIPLE times every time I log in to guess what numbers I am looking at. I have literally JUST TODAY called customer support and removed the authenticator, uninstalled it on my Samsung , reinstalled it, re-activated it and was able to see the numbers in orange for a total of ONE log-ins. Even if you can't rework the code to print in the same "easy to see" color on a consistent basis, you CAN at least change the background image to something brighter so we can see the numbers either way. We are talking about less than 10 minutes work and we all just download an update. Please fix this.
  7. Yeah, I actually put a red/black dye into it before I noticed the issue.
  8. Update I was getting a lot of people telling me to "repair" my files in my launcher. That's not it. I tried it and nothing changed.
  9. Is having all 3 (or more if incoming replacements make the same choice) abandon the group you are in because you are too under-geared to be of benefit to the team any less "humiliating" than being kicked from the group? I personally have no problem running flashpoints with people who are trying to learn the game, however, once you are into the realm of "Hard Mode Flashpoints", that ONE person can cause the entire team to wipe if they cannot handle their role in the group. While I agree that it can be upsetting to be voted out of a group, your friend needs to understand what is expected of him in a Hard Mode Flashpoint. If he doesn't have the capability to perform what is needed of him, he shouldn't be in the group. If you want to help your friend, help HIM/HER become a player capable of handling their responsibilities (through getting the gear needed) and stop asking everyone else around them to bend over backwards, compromise THEIR game experience, and make all the effort to make the game more enjoyable for the one person.
  10. I'm having a similar problem, but the funny thing is that mine is on a MALE toon and it seems to be giving me the "chest strap" that's supposed to only be on the female version of the outfit. My graphical glitch covers my entire upper body in a solid color under the straps so it shows as if I were wearing a spandex long sleeve shirt. I have the costume on a different server (Harbinger) and it's fine. I re-rolled the character on Bastion and I get a different version of the top after paying to release it to my entire account. Here is the side-by-side comparison of the two servers I'm really hoping they respond to this issue pretty soon. I've tried contacting them in several different ways and all I seem to get is silence. They even closed my bug ticket without responding to me.
  11. Thanks for the assist guys. I'll post the info to the devs and see if I can't get it fixed. Thanks much.
  12. I hope so. I really liked that look for this particular character. Darth Narcyss has to look like he is VERY happy with his appearance...hehe
  13. I inserted a link to the pic in the original post. But here it is again: http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c229/Jaavik/RelaxedVestments_zpsd343c8c1.jpg
  14. Right, but what I'm saying is that I have two male characters on two different servers wearing the exact same top, but one of them is a full shirt (or colored body) with a strap of cloth across the chest. Possibly it is the female version, in which I'll report it as a glitch. Hopefully it will be fixed, but I was initially under the impression that the outfit got "censored" or something. I'll try to post a picture of what I'm talking about.
  15. But it's in my "collections", it doesn't give me an option for a different chestwrap. I was thinking there was a possibility of a glitch where I may be wearing the female version, but I'm not sure how. Is there a different name for the male/female versions?
  16. I purchased the set of "Relaxed Vestments Chestwrap" on one of my characters on another server and then I paid the Cartel coins to open the set to all my account. ***Here is the pic!*** But the version I got after doing that is now a full skin-tight shirt with a bandage across the chest. I went back to check my original character and his chestwrap is STILL bare from the waist up and not a shirt, which is what I wanted and what I paid for. I would have guessed it was some kind of glitch, since the shirt is almost spandex-like, but the new strap across the check shows it to be an obviously intentional move. So what happened? Is this a glitch where I am somehow wearing the "female" equivalent of the outfit? Please don't tell me you caved to the insecure few who were complaining about seeing guys bare-chested in the game. I want what was sold to me, not an alteration of something I already purchased and you (possibly?) changed. Please fix this back to the way it was.
  17. I just want to make sure i do this right. I need to have everything out of my Cargo Hold and into my PERSONAL inventory in order for those items to transfer with me, correct? I'm assuming that leaving those items in my Cargo Hold will not transfer with me since the Guild Banks are not transferring (seeing as how they are similar in design), or am I misunderstanding the procedure? Also... I have my character's names reserved on my destination server, so I need to delete those characters before i transfer, correct? Or can I delete them (the reserved characters) after the transferring characters have arrived and simply "change the names" of the transferred characters after the reservations are deleted? (That probably sounded REALLY confusing, I had to retype it like 3 times...)
  18. Not really, the reason isn't necessarily a lack of demand as it is an overabundance of supply. They are made available RANDOMLY when the Cartel Packs are purchased. Some people buy multiple packs and get more than they can use. So they sell them on the market. Everyone in the game could technically already want and get one (demand), and there would still be more on the market.
  19. I'd really just love to see an OFFICIAL response to this issue that is something more than "coming soon" or we're working on it". I'm not asking for a specific (to the day) timetable. But a general (next month, a few months from now, next year) would at least be some real communication. If there HAS been an official response with some real information, I'd love to read it. I'm the first to admit that I may have missed it. Seriously, this issue has been in dozens of threads with hundreds of posts in each one. I just don't understand the lack of a substantial response to this.
  20. Gotcha... my misunderstanding. I understand that entirely. Let me be absolutely clear on the reason for MY frustration. If you are already familiar with the history I'm going to talk about, I apologize, but I want to make it clear that I'm not blaming Bioware for everything. I've been with the game since beta. I am also an UBER-Star Wars nerd and was very excited for this game. After the game launched, there was an issue with the servers being SO packed that people had to wait HOURS to log-in. I personally knew this was an issue with it being: A Star Wars Game A new MMO with the Star Wars name attached A new Bioware MMO with the Star wars name attached For many reasons, it was very popular and a LOT of people wanted to play. The subscribers were understandably very upset at the inability to log into the game and made multiple demands that new servers be opened so people could log in. Now at this point Bioware had stated publicly in the forums that the didn't want to open new servers because they knew there was going to be a large initial drop-off in subscriptions after the first month (as ANY new MMO always has). It was a "damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario" no matter what they chose to do, it was going to be a mess. So they gave in and opened new servers and sure enough, the drop-off happened and many of the servers suffered low populations which simply caused more unsubs and eventually Bioware had "multiple ghost-towns". Now we can argue back and forth whether or not they should have been ready to go with transfers since they were expecting the problem, but I'll let that go. It took a LONG time to get the transfers ready and while we were waiting there was MINIMAL information about how the transfers would be done up until shortly before transfers began. So many of us were in the dark while many were flaming the hell out of the developers in the forums. I'm a pretty patient guy and on MOST occasions, I found myself defending Bioware to a lot of the over-dramatic haters. I just loved the game, so i did the only viable option to continue playing the game as an MMO, I re-rolled to a populated server. This required me to abandon the main characters that I have been levelling up to 50, but allowed ME to continue to play under the "understanding" that transfers were "on the way". So, I decided to create characters on a different server that would unlock "Legacy" perks that the two 50's I left on the other server hadn't already unlocked. Once again, under the belief that I would be able to "merge my Legacy" which is something that the developers told everyone we would be able to do. Well the time for transfers came and suddenly it was 1 specific origin server transferring to one specific targeted destination server. After the initial frustration, I came to understand the reasoning behind the method, to keep server populations stable and make sure everyone didn't transfer to "Fatman" (as most re-rollers did). So once again, I found myself waiting again with no definitive information on when the transfers I needed would become available. I've asked over and over on here, calling customer service, etc and get no answer other than "we'll let you know". So here we are, heading into the 9th month this game has been running and I'm still waiting... still asking for information... still sitting in silence, being told by people on the forum that I "need to be more patient". I like the "Legacy" that this game offers, it's a great idea. But I've been making an absolute FOOL of myself begging for some kind of timetable of when I can actually play this game the way it was MEANT to be played (with a Legacy). But I get nothing but rubber-stamp responses "We know what people are asking for" and "we'll get answers as soon as we can". The responses do not even acknowledge "which answers" they are trying to get and i started to feel manipulated into continuing my subscription without getting the help I (and MANY others) have been waiting and waiting for... I finally lost interest and went ahead and unsubscribed. My patience was put to the test and it came up short. I don't want to pay 15 dollars a month for a game where people who are "playing for free" are getting more help and attention. Our request to allow US to PAY them to move our characters together has been ignored and pushed to the side so they can focus on forcing the players who DIDN'T want to transfer to transfer after they were PROMISED they wouldn't be forced to, and to transfer the characters that nobody is playing. Once again, I was LESS important than players who weren't playing. The former origin servers were locked down so nobody could start a character or transfer a character TO it, so there didn't seem to be a rush on that. I was through being taken for granted and decided to move on, but I keep checking back in the forums HOPING that we'll finally get some information, but all I see are MORE threads asking the same question "when can we get paid transfers?" and NO specific information, no rough timetable, no specific acknowledgment that it was an important issue. As a matter of fact there was a sticky that was in the General Discussion concerning the requests for paid transfers and the sticky was REMOVED and is now lost in the shuffle, even though it was an active thread at the time. They appear to be intentionally dodging it and I wish I knew why, and I wish the community team would (at the VERY least) have a real dialogue with us about it. But nothing. I won't even consider coming back until this option is available or OFFICIALLY "on the way" (as in they have a date set for it's release). I can't believe that there is NO information available. It just doesn't make sense. Understandable viewpoint and I was the one making this exact same argument about 4 or 5 months ago. But there HAS to be a point where enough is enough. We're not asking for something they don't ALREADY have the capability of doing. And most of all, they won't talk with us about it. Look again at the post that Allison made in this thread and tell me it couldn't be cut and pasted word for word in ANY forum for ANY kind of issue. It doesn't specifically address the issue to where we can tell they DO know what we are asking and then go to that department and get SOME kind of idea what all has to happen before we can get it, SOME kind of timetable of how long we still need to wait. It's not an unreasonable request. I don't defend anyone mistreating Allison or Joveth or anyone on the community team, but they really need to understand that the frustration is reaching a fever pitch and this isn't the first time the game has frustrated players to this level. Referring to the answer as being a "politician answer", I can't really argue against it. I don't mean to sound insulting to anyone about it, but when you answer a question in a way that doesn't ACTUALLY answer anything, and then pretend that you are "communicating with us" by doing it is a purely "political" tactic. I will continue to beg Allison or Joveth or ANYONE on the Community Team to have a real dialogue with us about the specifics of this issue. Before more people feel as unappreciated as I did and cancel their subscription. I keep checking the forums and the Dev Tracker for ANYTHING regarding this issue and am continually disappointed. I really liked the game, but I wasn't going to waste any more money waiting blindly. There are other MMO's out there to play.
  21. Actually, since they are the "Community Response Team" we are complaining to EXACTLY the right people. Their purpose is to be the "middle men" between the subscribers and the developers. Their "supposed" purpose is to communicate what the company wants to the subscribers and what the subscribers want to the appropriate department of Bioware. Nobody is "angry at Allison" as much as they are just angry about the lack of communication on this issue. It has been addressed by the community in DOZENS of threads with HUNDREDS of posts each. And after months and months of BEGGING for some kind of timetable, we are still only getting, "nothing yet! we'll let you know!" It's a rubber-stamp response meant to "buy them more time" with creating the impression that they are "working on it". But once you see the same response over and over again, you get tired of hearing the community team "cry wolf". I was one who defended the developers when the issue was only a few weeks with no answer. Now that it's been multiple months, I can't defend it. There's no excuse for not having any kind of information (the developers, not the community team) except that there is no progress. We don't hear about any progress so the logical conclusion is that there isn't any. If it IS being "worked on", then there's NO WAY that there isn't SOME kind of timetable internally of when transfers (both forced and paid) will be ready and available. We'll just keep asking... thread after thread. The ball is in their court, but patience is running out...
  22. I really hope this is sarcasm... There have been MULTIPLE threads on this topic with HUNDREDS of posts requesting this since the time of the "Dead Servers". I think it is sarcasm, but either way I won't give up on this. I'll continue to fight for it as log as I'm still able to post.
  23. Fair Enough! But I have an idea. Currently, many of the subscribers are having issue with "generic rubber-stamp responses" that appear to be cut and pasted and have no distinct connection with the issue it's apparently responding to. We'd like to know that you actually hear us, who you forwarded the issue to and whether or not they responded with any kind of time table on when the issue could be resolved (or even addressed?) How about if you post a list of the issues you do not yet have an answer for or a "Top Ten" list or something like that of what you believe are the "top concerns"? Maybe that would show us that the issues at least ARE being addressed, that you do acknowledge them and what BIOWARE thinks are the top issues they are working on? There have been hundreds of posts about the "merging legacies" issue wanting "paid transfers" and we can't seem to get a response specific to this issue.
  24. 1. Paid Transfers! I want to merge my legacy! 2. Side-kicking System! We need a way to bring in new players and play WITH them without having to start a class we've already played through. New players want to play WITH their friends who have established characters! 3. Ability to change physical appearance! IN-GAME Hairstyles, body types and maybe some costume pieces with more skin showing? Above all else, where's all that "new and improved" communication with the players?
