While SWTOR landscape is beautifull , and very detailed , SWG maps were way bigger. You could spend entire days exploring Tat in SWG but be done completely with SWTOR Tat in 1 day (all quests and completly uncover everything) Lets take Hutta in SWTOR for an example. No one gets a speeder there (or Typhon for the pubs) and compare it with Rori (one of the first starter planets for SWG) and no mount/speeders. We all know in 1 day you can completely explore all of Hutta or Typhon(sp) on foot , but that wasn't the case with Rori in SWG (and it was one of the smaller planets) and thats with both SWG and SWTOR using their current and best forms of npc transportation. In space you could orbit and get close to the planets (and even bounce off them) where as in SWTOR you can't move your ship at all. You could travel into the middle of a "space storm" and watch the lightning or travel to the event horizon of a black hole and watch it. You could even move into a "contested zone" and watch npc's fly past you fighting it out and blowing up or jump right into it and fight with/vs them. Most liked the idea of actually having to watch where your going in a speeder chase or a pvp battle. It gave realism to it. If you just auto ran , you'd run into a boulder and get stuck while the guy chasing you caught up. Or run into a tree and blow up your speeder (remember the first day of speeders? the store your speeder bug and C-net crowded with blown speeders cause peeps ran into trees and rocks? Finding a crashed speeder while your BH hunting and knowing your prey was just here and must be near.)

I did read all of it , so not jumping in. I've posted in here on this topic already. Yoda does tell him its his fate to face Vader and defeat him. Vader is the guard dog of the Empire and for Luke to not know that defeating Vader = freeing the Galaxy and for him to squander that possibility means you gotta think Luke is completely dumb. We can say that w/o R2D2 the MF wouldn't have gotten fixed , but thats also conjection. Even w/o HD getting fixed , they had the jump on Vader and his forces and would have gotten away. They were half way off planet and not a single Tie near them. It wasn't till they HAD to go back and rescue Luke that they had Tie fighters on them. Vader had enough time to get to the SatrDestroyer as well , which amounts to alot of time Luke was hanging around and the Leia coulda used to get away. Thrawn Trioligy is not G-canon , your right , but its C-canon. It counts as well , just as much as G-canon does.

But acording to you guys , only the movies count. GL has even said SWCW is T-Canon , not G-canon , yet GL hisself has a hand in SWCL. You guys yourself are going in circles trying to explain Maul dying , yet coming back , vs Fett dying and possibly coming back.

Well this isn't completely true. Han and Chewy were always popular. You couldn't have 1 w/o there other as figures or w/e. Costumes of Chewy sold more than those of Han. I could go on and on. You can't deny that the Han/Chewy combo sold tons for GL Yet he lets Chewy get killed off. He allows it and that destroys a cash cow also. If he was truely upset about Fett still living in EU , then he'd say "Enough is enough , Fett is dead and leave it that way" You can't claim he just lets it go on cause its a cash cow , because EVERYTHING in SW is a cash cow , yet he takes things away from the EU or lets them stay.

No , i get what your saying , but i also see where maul dies , and the movie and novalization says he died , yet GL approves him returning in SWCW , but he never comes out and says so or writes so. The point is , by GL letting the novals go on with Fett in them , he is allowing Fett to live and saying its ok. He doesn't actually have to come out and say he does , he just has to let it happen. He does have the finial say so in what can and can't be in the books. He's proven that before. And that interview was before alot of these books were writen about Fett , that was just a comment about Fett's popularity.

I see what your saying and it makes sense...but , its not completely fair. Put it this way. If Qui Gon Jinn woulda taken Ani's mom with them he woulda never gone down that path with the Tuskens... If the Jedi woulda stoped slavery... If the Jedi woulda let Jedi marry... Those 3 things right there woulda kept Ani from going down the dark path faster (and maybe not at all , who knows.)

I agree. He coulda used force push to knock them out , or pursuade like others said. To choke is to torture tho , and to torture is evil. I still say he was teatering between light/dark and thus the inconsistiency of force use.

But now your making stuff up and assuming. We don't know how it would have turned out if Luke would have stayed. Han may have stayed as a wall mount untill Leia came to rescure him (and you know she would have) There was already a plan by Lando to rescue Leia. The Endor assualt might not have been needed if Luke had finished his training. Vader might have searched him out and Luke might have turned him w/o a battle. Still , by going , Luke riskes the Galaxy out of emotion (like Ani did, a step in the direction of the darkside) and he changed nothing by going. Han is still a wall mount , he didn't rescue Leia , or even help (and in fact put her at greater risk because she has to go back for him) and Lando was gonna join anyways cause of what the Empire did to him. And he only learns something that can and will hurt him later. Vader is Daddy. Leia is sister (btw , does anyone find it funny we talk of canon this and canon that , but in RoTJ Yoda mentions there is another , like Ben had no idea he had a sister?) If he didn't know these facts , killing Vader would have been easier , and knowing Leia was his sister put her at risk (and hisself) at the end. We get the same thing when he goes to the palace. He riskes his life and that of Leia by even being there as part of the plan (i think a couple of Marines woulda been easier)

It is canon , just a different step in canon. Someone said Darkside/Lightside didn't exist in the movies , not true. Darth Vader: You cannot hide forever, Luke. Luke: I will not fight you. So , with this Dark/Light were present and Luke was using a form of Darkside power with Choke. It served no good and Jedi does good with his powers , but no big deal in the greater span of things. Also , some G-Canon doesn't fit in , like Leia saying she remembered her mom , yet there is no recon or rerelease explaining or undoing that , thus we do have loops in canon.

It can if GL says its ok. Its really that simple.He is the one that can say "So and so died in the movies , but since we didn't see his death , we got a new spin on things because of fan outcry" GL did put a stop to certain things and stuck his foot out. Case in point , even tho books were written discribing Darksabers and Armor that can stop LS's , he said no. Can't do that and can't write that in anymore. Thats the thing tho. It showed Boba falling into the pit , but never actually dying. Ben being cut down by Vader is a good example of a Character dying , but yet he's brought back in a way that shows he's still dead , but still has a connection. As for Boba (and how it can be allowed that he's in the EU) he never is seen actually dying , just falling into the pit. Other franchises have done things like this (Superman , Batman , Spiderman , Ironman , Captain America) , so why can't GL. I did read a post once where GL said if he didn't want it written , it wouldn't be. Any book with SW on it has to be approved by him , and thus if they print something he doesn't like/want it won't be out there. He approved Boba still living so its there and part of cannon. Like i said , i think its pretty much up to the person how they want to view cannon. If G-cannon is all you see , then your limited and thats sad TBH. Acording to that post someone mentioned , G-cannon was out in '96 , which means 1,2 and 3 are not part of cannon , just 4 ,5 and 6 and that makes things very limited (if people want to be sticklers about it that is)

Your showing player made stuff and calling it out to prove a point of cannon? Come on man. Even stuff that makes it into video games is at the bottom of the cannon list. According to the SW history , the Exile was a girl (KOTOR 2) and if it wasn't for that game , that part of the story wouldn't be written , yet there it is and the Exile is a Woman , yet alot of us played her as a guy , GL just stepped in and said it was a woman. Same deal with KOTOR 1 and Reven being a guy. In a ever expanding universe , Sw has to have leway to provide more info on characters and background on the universe. If it wasn't for that , we wouldn't even be here. The storyline in SWTOR is cannon , but none of your toons are.

(and you also have to remember there are different levels of cannon , and its actually up to the fan what they choose to accept in their own SW world as part of their cannon) All in all , its Films , TV , books , comics then games. Very few recons and those are from books where some writer didn't listen when GL said "No , you can't have this or do that" (black LS's or DarkSabers as they are called) Even GL said he didn't invision Luke and Mara getting married and having kids and same with Han and Leia , but its there and its cannon. Same with Chewy dying. Its all part of cannon now.

I've read every book (and its true , alot of the comics get turned into books with a little added later) and alot of the comics up to and including Scourge. If your a real SW fan , just start with the oldest in order (Lost Tribe of the Sith or Old Republic) and go from there...in order. You'll notice small differences here and there and some stuff that won't fit in with someone elses book , but just remember that its alot of different authers writing about the same thing and its alot to try to keep in order. There really hasn't been a book i haven't liked (but Scourge is hard to get into and Shadow Games was just kinda different , but was by far the worst i've read) I'm also a speed reader , so a book like Scourge will only last me a few days. I've really enjoyed the New Jedi Order Series , Fate of The Jedi Series and the Lost Tribe of the Sith Series. These last 2 kinda tie into each other but are 1000's of years apart. (You might also like Riptide and Crosscurrent)

Here , Here my friend. Best post i've seen so far. Even brought up an important point someone keeps trying to point out in their favor. "Be the best you can be in everything you do" or whats the point. Well , doesn't that mean being the best person too? The best leader? If your so good , share that knowledge or just quit. Don't waste my time in a match with your yelling at people because the match didn't go your way. Carry your own weight as a human being and forget there is a interweb and monitor protecting you. Act as if the person is right in front of you and i'm pretty sure your way of talking would change (or maybe not , some people are just born to be interweb bullies and thats all their good at)

IDK man , maybe its your sever that sucks and your just a subpar player that others make look good , cause IDK about the others here, but i don't have these problems on my server. The problems i run across is the ones who sit there and afk cause we didn't cap 2 or all 3 right off the bat and then yell at everyone. Then when we do turn it around , they've already been sitting there afk yelling at people for 3 min and then claim we couldn't have won if it wasn't for them. It seems to me that your not much of a team player , and thats by your own words. Your more of a selfish player. Your the kind that was probably doing your own thing to make yourself better and didn't pay attention to what someone else was saying needed to be done and was probably your fault the match was lost. Thats what i've sermised from your own posts. You have said yourself that you'll afk rage at people for a few min , but that few min could have turned the battle. You have said yourself that you'll leave the que (which i and others have no probs with) , yet you don't know if the match was won or lost. I'm bettering tho that 75% of the time a new player with less gear/valor/expertise came in and helped win the match. Thats got to say something right there. LOL

But your missing the point thats its not always someones gameplay thats at fault. You've said yourself that you've gone afk for 2min and raged at people , yet won't offer advice. You said its not your job to. Think of this tho , while your raging for 2min , the game can geet a turn around. I've joined Alderaan matches that were 500-200 enemy favor and we still pulled out a win , in less than 2 min. Sometimes its these Elite Pvp'ers that will notice the enemy gets 2 turrents right at the begining of the match and then just afk yell at everyone. Thats 3 or 4 players yelling for 2 min and taking up a spot. The match could have been won. And as new as the game is , i'm 100% sure that if they came out with a -1000 valor for leaving and -500 valor for a afk kick this kind of stuff would stop. It would take 4 matches and you'd be out of Valor to ware ranked gear. You'd drop from valor 60 to 59 real fast and then people might think. I'd hate to tell you this , but you guys are gonna have the same problem in ranked matches , and sometimes even with 8man premades (unless its all guildmates) Mark my words , you'll see people complaining about this same stuff going on in ranked matches as soon as it comes out. See , i got no probs with that. I someone offers advice on what should be done , and its not done so , then you still have to think of a few things. Are they in vent/TS? Are they working their own plan? If so they should communicate as well. I know sometimes my guildmates and i don't que together because we like the chance we might get to practice on each other , so when we get in together we r in vent working our own plans , but we tell others What i do have a prob with is the ones who don't say a word , then get mad when no one does what they think should have been done. Then they qq in chat while afking in a safe spot. Its just as much their fault they didn't communicate with everyone else (and maybe those guys were in vent and you didn't follow their plan) as it is the other guys for not trying to get people into their plans. Its the quiters and afkers who then spam chat because no one did what they thought should have been done that i got a prob. with. Its also these same people that i see saying "Shut up nub , we know what to do" when i say 4 east , need help or inc west , need support over there. Or when i try to give ideas of what we should do because i see what the enemy is doing. Its usually why i don't say a word in chat anymore and could be why others don't either.

No , thats exactly what you did , you assumed. Did you ask yourself why i said those things? No , you just assumed that those responses were made because maybe thats how you see it. Truth is , with anything in life , i have a simple view. Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. Learn the facts for yourself. If i see a vid like those mentioned , my thoughts that i pointed out are for this simple reason. How many times does someone post something "ubar" just to get attention , yet it proves to be staged just for their e-peen. And luck factors into it because how do i know what the situation was for those other players? Were all their cooldowns off or did they pop them already on the 30 other people they killed before they got to that 1 person. I've never had a problem admiting when someone got better luck than me 1 vs 1 or during a match and got better points/comms/medals/scores than me. I've also never had a problem facing someone thats beat me 1 vs 1 and learning i was right the first time. It was the luck of the draw. Give me everything off cooldown and the same gear and its a 50/50 match. Put his stuff on cooldown or mine and its a 100/0 match. Thats not skill , its luck. If he beat me , its cause he hit the same key i did or the counter 1 milla second before i did. Since he couldn't know what i was going to do , since he can't see the future then its luck , not skill. If i would have hit the other button instead or hit the cc a milla second before he did , then i would have won. Thats called luck. On my Sniper , i know certain professions that i can't go 1 vs 1 against because the game mechanics make it impossible for me to beat them , that doesn't mean that person is better than me , just that their profession has certain abilities that makes my toon completely useless vs them. I also know that 1 vs 1 , my Sniper will annilate a certain spec of another Sniper (marksman vs eng. spec) , not because i'm better than them , just cause i'm speced different. But put 2 same spec'ed Snipers on the field with same gear set and its a 50/50 shot and luck of the draw who's gonna come out on top. If someone is out there that my current spec'ed profession can beat or should be able to , and i can't , its not that they are better than me , its that i did something by way of mistake , and it won't happen again. I have as of yet to meet someone that is actually better than me in a video game. Know why? Because if they beat me over and over , i continue to learn and adapt , so i don't lose more than 3 times to the same person. Thats the point i'm trying to make here , that its not about skill when all you have to do is push a button at a different time than before in order to beat the guy. I guess it comes down to where you play in the game the most. Its hard to say someone is better than you in a team sport , when its suppose to be about the team ( and seeing as i don't look to be the highest scoring/comm/medal/objective/dps player out there , then i can't see someone "being better than me" because someone has to be at the top of the board and that wasn't my goal) In a 1 vs 1 situation , if i get beat 2 times in a row , its because i was going up vs a profession that my current profession isn't supposed to be able to beat solo. If i beat a profession that i'm not supposed to , then i usually chalk it up to the fact they just got through using a CD on something and i caught them offguard and usually stick around to see. Same if i lose , i'll stick around and test my theory and i haven't been wrong yet. Now , IRL its different. If i go to the rifle range at the base , i know that as soon as i step out there , there is only 1 guy who can shoot better than me. But when i take that same person to play basketball , i know i'm better than him. There is nothing that can change either of those facts. No ammount of training on my part or his will change that. Thats not so in this game. Its all about timers and the lack thereof. Its about that GUESS and LUCK of taking a chance of hitting this button instead of that 1 a milla second before the other guy does. Since you can't see what they are planing on doing , then its all down to guess work and luck of the draw. Its that simple. There is no guesswork or luck when we shoot or play basketball. Its about a skill that he has that i don't or vice versa and nothing either of us do will change that. If i do beat him with a shot , its luck or a mistake he made, plan and simple. If he scores on me and wins , its because of luck or a mistake i made , plan and simple. Maybe there are a certain type of people out there that are just better at video games than others. If so , then fine. Go for it. But really , does it matter? Does it make a difference at the end of the day? That guy i can beat at basketball , he's a boss , but me beating him in a game has no bearing on anything , but him being a better shot than me does matter. Thats where being better than someone actually counts.

1 - if you can't handle getting "spit" at , then don't offer advice. If you don't offer advice , don't complain. If you don't offer advice , yet complain , be prepared for someone to call you out on it. 2- You should apply "Be the best you can be" to things that actually matter , or you end up buring too many bridges and never having any fun. Right now your talking as if you don't have any fun in this game , and that could atributed to the fact you carry too much weight on it. The best you can be may be better than someone else , but that doesn't mean they aren't giving 100%. I i was to take you too a gun range and let you shoot a rifle , and then offer no advice , yet critique you on everything you do and tell you that you suck , is it your fault? Cause i guarentee that i'm 100% better than you. You might be giving you all , but in the end i'm just plan better than you. Its not your lack of trying , and seeing as i am better i should help you or just not even bother asking you to come. On the other hand , as you put it , since you would suck compared to me , why should you even try? Maybe cause you like it and you have that right? And in that same sense , i shouldn't belittle you because i have no idea how hard your trying. 3- Your the 1 talking about giving it your all , or "being the best in everything you do" , but in some cases , to be the best requires time and effert , and to give that time and effert , you have to take time and effert from something else. Even then , your best might not be as good as someone elses , and thats just the simple facts. That doesn't mean your better , it just means your more lucky at that time than that person (be it that you have more time , or less children or more money) 4- I'll take that guy that "sucks in his lil world" when it comes to this game anytime , cause usually that means he has higher prioities than being "leet" in a VR world and i might actually learn something from them that will help when it matters. As long as they have fun and so do i , at the end of the day we r both "leet" cause they can tell the difference between a game and what really matters. No where did i see anyone suggest the game be lowered like you mentioned , just that those that sit and tell others they suck while they are the ones typing and not trying to help , or quit at the first sign of trouble instead of trying to fix it , are actually the ones draging the game down and ruining it for everyone (even themselves it seems , because your spending more effert on requing than actually playing or typing rather than actually trying to help others make a difference)
