  1. Not sure how I'm going to hold a subbed guild together for 12-14 weeks with no new content. We're all full campaign and war hero.
  2. That would be sweet letting the F2P folks farm my dailies for me.
  3. Just did, above. Took me a bit to find it but there you go.
  4. Yes, we are getting server specific forums when the transfer/merge process is complete and all the dead servers are closed. EDIT: Found the thread: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=4875161#post4875161
  5. Ah I see. Didn't really read it and thought you were talking about the Trauma debuff that accompanies the armor debuff of a sniper's shatter shot. -20% healing on that for 9 seconds.
  6. PvPers complaining about mortal strike. Ah, that takes me back.
  7. Yes, that is how I am interpreting it. Nothing said of additional character slots, though, so not sure on a few things. If no additional slots are going to be added, I'm going to want to transfer my last holdout from Vrook Lamar to The Harbinger, as my slots on Begeren Colony are full up. That character from Vrook Lamar is legacy level 43, from where I used to have all but one of my characters. However, that one other character is a level 50 shadow now on The Harbinger (née Space Slug), but it's only legacy 20. If I then move the powertech from Vrook Lamar to Harbinger (because there is only one west coast RP and I'm full up on slots), would my legacy 43 supersede that shadow's 20? I suppose complications like this are the cause for the wait.
  8. My best friend is sorta like that. He's not a bad player, but he hates when people rush. 8 months in, I have 6 50s. He has two, with nothing else over level 20. Never space bars the conversations because he wants to see what all the convo nodes do. And that's a fine way to play.
  9. Well, that and reduce the cost of parting out the pieces. A droid com vendor gets around the cost of pulling armorings, mods, and enhancements. Doing this from black hole gear is painfully expensive, especially when it would have to be done at every upgrade, whereas the com vendor would give you a place to spend coms that your droid can simply equip (you know, like all your humanoid companions can do). I'd like to see costs cut from mod pulling by at least another 70%.
  10. From this post here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=512983 Now this is just a customer service rep, and it's the usual tap dancing around a firm answer, but it really gives me hope they're going to complete this merge with more room for the players to decide for themselves where to go.
  11. Here's what it is. They changed the global cooldown flash to be bright white. Not sure exactly when, think it was 1.2. A lot of people got sick looking at it. There were a metric ton of complaints. So many that Bioware added 5 options for GCD flash and overlay. You can change this in your preferences->user interface. Scroll down to the bottom and you'll see global cooldown settings. I find that unchecking ready flash and global cooldown ready flash, along with style 4 for both (dark w/ dark overlay) is the easiest on the eyes. GCD text is also nice to help you keep exact track of cooldowns with a timer. Hope this helps.
  12. Boo Requires legacy level 35 250,000 credits Receive your own miniature giant space hamster pet.
  13. Indeed. Gearing them is far too much trouble, as they don't wear armor, they wear parts, and the cost to transfer mods and enhancements and then buy appropriate armorings is prohibitive (set piece armorings can't be transferred into droid parts). They need a com vendor of their own, as I have suggested in my signature. This problem will be even more pronounced when it's not just 3 classes with droid companions, it'll be all of them.
  14. Given the forced nature of the upcoming character transfers, I feel that four additional free slots are warranted, as well as more player choice in where to move them (with perhaps the limitation of to a server you already have active 50s on).
  15. I thought this might happen without cross server.
  16. If the Forbes writer thinks EA spent over $250 million on marketing this game and this game only, he needs to be fired.
  17. "Blatant" and "abused" are a pretty strong words given the sheer volume of threads which criticize or are downright negative rants on the game, yet remain open.
  18. I think they have plans for this, including increasing the character slots by 4-8, perhaps some choice in where to go (if you already have high levels on a destination server), and paid transfers after that to allow decent if not perfect character consolidation. But that's me, with my logic.
  19. While I do appreciate the perspective, the game is going up against WoW as it is now, not WoW as it was seven years ago. I feel Bioware and EA dramatically underestimated their community's desire for such features, and the game would be in better shape now had they come with the initial release. As soon as WoW released group finder, Bioware should have made that an absolute priority. They had plenty of time, but miscalculated its appeal and left it for post launch. That was a mistake in my opinion, but I'm glad it's here now.
  20. I was lucky enough with how they handled Ajunta Pall that I got to transfer a 43 (now 50) trooper to Begeren Colony where all my Sith toons were. AP got three transfer options, due to its west coast location. They could go to RP-PvP east, or stay west and either go to Begeren Colony (RP west) or the west coast PvP server. I think we should have more options like this when mandatory transfers come up, as it will make more players happy. Also, more character slots, please. No desire to play my lone 50 shadow on The Harbinger, but I would play it if it were on Begeren Colony. I'm fine with a paid transfer for that one, but free would be nice, and probably good for business, too. A free transfer instead of paid (at least for this mandatory merge) might be the difference between someone giving up on the game or giving it another chance.
  21. Not having this problem myself, and I always run at 60+ in windowed, even on the fleet and in PvP.
  22. Alison is still here, but I'm pretty sure the rank and file thread cadets have been merged into the generic "community" name. I think it's a good idea, as I remember trolls back at the old Neverwinter Nights forums that I moderated would go after specific moderators from time to time. They'd lose, naturally, but this removes the problem before it can happen.
