  1. Could be how stealth works for scout ships . Or some new ship type with stealth i don't know .
  2. This sounds really good, i only with there was also a mention about pushback here as well considering its also an issue for PvE and basically we use our one question about Sage DPS PvE. Also it doesn't have to be utility only. I know, one can only dream but, could be "high risk, high reward", which means more dps . Also guys, out of context here, i know i too dream of having execute in our dps class one day, never hurts to have one more button. However, it really doesn't look like something we'll get unless there is some major rework, which points to some major patch like 3.0. I really think we should skip it if its within your questions and ask something better. Just an opinion. All the best.
  3. I agree with everything you said wholeheartedly, you make great points. Glass cannon part was my personal opinion, and i respect and agree what you say about it. Maybe that is never Bioware's intention. This is exactly what i was saying. In fact, TK had this utility before the AoE nerf but clearly it no longer does. We have just lost one of the best utility/uniqueness we can offer in a raiding environment. There is absolutely nothing at the moment to compensate for weak survivability atm, just some emergency offheals and i know commando can do better with tech override if really needed. You are not needed to offheal until you run out of force anyway, you are only needed to offheal in case your healer is subdued for a little time.
  4. Hello all. This will be a thread about Sage DPS and its current state. Just would like put a couple of words about survivability. What we have to accept, is that we are a class that comes with light armor. This is a handicap and with this fact we will never be as survivable as other classes. This is how it is with every MMO and how balancing should be done. Wearing light armor is taking risks and therefore, you have low survivability. However, with big risks, there should also be big rewards. What sage has is the fact that it is only "glass", not a cannon. Balance always had this problem. It's one of the lowest dps dot mirror specs in game currently and even devs accepted this fact. However, we couldn't find a proper solid solution and decided to bury it until summer, 2.8 i believe. TK however, never really had real high single target damage but it always was the king of AoE and thats what you need if you want to design a "glass cannon". It gave us a certain utility and a feeling of being a "glass cannon", all the damage you take is compansated with your massive AoE damage output. With 2.7, our AoE is nerfed massively, by removing the seperate ICD's for Forcequake and Turbulence/Disturbance. This is where it became a design flaw. Neither Sage DPS specs currently offer the reward of taking the "survivability" risk. TK damage, while decent, is always supressed by having certain handicaps like pushback and Balance damage has always been low. If this is the case with your class, a logical person would say "Why am i playing this class while i could play some other with more survivability ? I would put about the same dps on target anyway. Why am i being a burden to my healers, why would i take this risk ?" . I believe this is the problem with the DPS Sage specs right now in game. Let's face it, getting a spot in PvE is always a competition in a way. You are expected to bring something more to the team, if you are going to take a lot more damage. I hope these make sense. All the best.
  5. I myself have a shadow dps, in fact its one of my first characters. While its one of the most fun classes i have ever played i always felt it underperforming compared to other MDPS classes. Maybe i never could play it, much high respect for players who manage to. To be honest i'm amazed and suprised by the vitality of the shadow/assasin community here at SWTOR. After being the bottom of the barrel for almost a year, am glad you still have people willing to contribute here. You guys are doing an awesome job. Please remember that. Considering the recent guardian and scoundrel buffs and their numbers, i truly think shadows need a bit more love. It could be some more dps numbers or raid utility, what it will be remains to be seen. Some will disagree with me on this. Being the most vulnerable melee class amongst others wearing light armor is a BIG risk. And with this BIG risk, there should be HIGH rewards. Otherwise there is no incentive to play a MDPS class wearing light armor. Wish you guys the best of luck, hope Bioware will hear and respond well to your questions ! All the best.
  6. Great post ! I don't think this is a minor issue, this is one of the most important core part of this spec that people seem to be struggling with . Very detailed amazing guide Pelara ! Though my opinion with alacrity, alacrity has always been weird. I always see it as a stat to remove your handicap, which is latency. In aspect of optimization; If you don't get any type of cooldown reduction it doesn't carry your rotation. Whats the point of breaking the synchronization your rotation has ? I would only go for alacrity if you have a high MS and lose too much time while applying dots and global cooldowns, then alacrity is awesome. I personally get my highest dps numbers on TK with 3 alacrity enhancements, since only that helps me keep track of whats going on and use my rotation more efficiently, considering i always play with 150-200 MS latency. Otherwise i believe it to be a rotation breaker, considering it doesn't effect the skill cooldowns at all. You will never have the same rotation that you do with alacrity, you will always lose some time while renewing or reusing your abilities. Of course with balance, what it does is to give you a couple more ticks with your TKT . Awesome long and informative wall of post. Thank you for this. All the best .
  7. It's better than getting face stunned for 10 seconds being able to do nothing i'd say. Way better than what you got in this game. Resolve is one of the worst mechanics i have ever seen to counter excessive crowd control. Diminish at WoW was far better than this, in any way. Wildstar has the best anti-CC mechanic i have ever seen, which is being able to pick your weapon when you are disarmed, tap this when you are stunned, black screen when you are blinded, controls switching randomly if you are disoriented and more. I truly think SWTOR has to get ideas from them.
  8. I'm probably leaving for Wildstar, for various reasons. It's a really fast paced, great game ! And how they handle CC is just brilliant . Still, i'm not sure if the endgame content is satisfying enough in Wildstar so no, you can't have my stuffz yet. Maybe 2 months after Wildstar is released.
  9. Am going . Won't stay around after 2.7.
  10. Q4: CAN MY GUILD FIGHT OTHER GUILDS IN SPACE PVP WITH OUR GUILD FLAGSHIP? No, this Digital Expansion does not include a PvP combat experience for Guild Flagships. More information about Guild Flagships will be revealed in the coming months. No GvG with flagships .
  11. GvG or RIOT ! xD Cool news
  12. You probably want to hear some conspiracy, saying those people were from WS or ESO . Ah the paranoia . I'm not sure, maybe they were. There was a guy called Bioflop who was posting stupid stuff like 2 weeks ago and was rumoured to be within protected Blizzard Entertainment servers but it was just a rumour. If he is, Blizzard is playing this perfectly by making us compete with ESO, while he's happy sitting on his throne .
  13. This game needs tactical operations as well, considering how easy story modes are nowadays its not such a bad idea . Just kidding, i actually agree with the OP.
  14. If you keep saying that, you won't have people to play with soon. He's here because he wants to make things right, because he's critisizing. The day people like him are all gone, then your game is dead. Remember that please.
  15. Shouldn't be too difficult to make instanced floors similar to what we had at KOTOR games. Remember Taris ? Also housing was necessary in order to compete with some other upcoming titles as well. Might also give some variety to Cartel Market and we all know SWTOR was lacking things to do other than operations for the end game. However, i agree with you completely on class stories. Storytelling is one of the best aspects of Bioware, and they really should not lose this selling point.
  16. SWTOR is still lacking some core elements, but i truly think its one of the best choices in the market atm. However, ESO and Wildstar has some features that even SWTOR can look up to. *Ignores WoW* TESO Questing and storytelling in ESO is something thats really unique. All the characters even b/w levels 1-8 are memorable to me, and the quests that i have done have left their marks on me. You would think SWTOR would have a higher impact on this, but i do not remember the names of the people i have talked while i was on Coruscant. But i will never forget some of the characters that i've seen in ESO's questing even in its beta, for they were memorable and left their mark on me. Especially if SWTOR is going to leave class stories to dust, they really need to look into the storytelling in this game. However, ESO truly fails to keep you on your toes in its core element, gameplay and combat. It's just boring, or not appealing to me, considering there are a lot of people out there that seems to like it. Wildstar To me, Wildstar has some of the best combat and gameplay i have ever seen and the best PvP gameplay ever. Every player that i talked to who tried higher end game PvE of Wildstar says "It's challenging" but doesn't say "its awesome" or "its terrible". No doubt the game has a high skill curve to begin with. Amount of movement that you have in that game, with a lot of telegraphs and mobility needed, is really charming. SWTOR could especially look at how they handle crowd control, and some of the base mechanics of the game. However in Wildstar, questing feels a bit vague compared to these two games, but storytelling is quite awesome, considering its a new IP. Also game feels too unforgiving for some of the casual playerbase that we have on the market. There ya go. I have no doubt SWTOR is one of the best MMOs out there in the market and good enough to compete with these games. I truly hope SWTOR a succesful year, and really excited to hear more about the big content that comes with 2.8 they were talking about . All the best.
  17. Rare aesthetic items, alright. Rare PvE/PvP boost items that give you the upper hand ? Hell to the no. Thats exactly what WoW did by adding that stupid legendary cloak, dumbest thing i have ever seen. Made it impossible to compete with other players and made that cloak a must. Legendary hunt should be something unique, and maybe something more aesthetic. SWTOR has that incentive, with its amazing modification system. I truly agree with you, having some kind of grind/rare/legendary item is something that keeps your interests in game for some players but its purpose is really important.
  18. I truly think this is intended. With Kuat, the bug they are referring to could be the laggy environment that gets worse as more players do Kuat. Not to mention, the amount of xp you get is still ridiculous. Even now without 2xXP, you get almost a level after 30+ just by doing KDYs. I was able to get my assasin from 14 to 28 in three and a half hours with a team from my guild, without breaking a sweat. No game developer wants its players to level 3 alts in a weekend and lose interest in the game, especially if one of your biggest selling points is class stories, which is leveling experience. I did level 3 alts in the last double xp weekend and almost lost all interest in game for a while after that. I think i can say for myself, having a double xp weekend kinda hurts your emotional attachment to the game. Of course this is merely a guess and an opinion, i do wish they would be more transparent about this if this is the case. I would understand if they came up with an explanation like this. It is acceptable to a level, if you look this from their PoV. I think this double xp weekend will be back, but after they find a way to make KDY's xp gain more managable.
  19. Normally i'd say a good tank wouldn't make dps wait with 2.5 standards. However, the real problem is the accuracy tanks have. Since they have a chance to miss their skills, if they miss one of their high aggro builders, you are definitely going to steal aggro from him. Just a couple of things you can do to help out your tank, as a TK sage i always had aggro problems, i mostly wait about 3-4 seconds before my tank does the pull and go easy on my opener rotation, if its a dangerous fight. Also timing your aggro drop correctly is something you have to watch out for as well. If you are watching out for these, might be the time to tell your tank some good rotations and stuff . However, recent dps buffs might actually change these facts. It's already really tough to keep a good DPS guardian aggro without guard. I'd say wait for 2.7 and see what happens before just blaming your tank. Bioware really is pushing most of the dps classes . All the best.
  20. This game actually seems more live than ever, but of course there are other matters to consider which are related to your emotional attachment to the game aside from metrics. This game has good raids and PvE content in a way to keep people busy. I've definitely loved DF&DPs though doing them over and over and over again gets boring over time. Also TFB was merely the same with vanilla SWTOR content so... PvP in this game, in my humble opinion, has always been a stunfest and broken. It's just pure frustrating. I have much respect for players who still devote their time and effort to pvp in this game. They have soul. Furthermore, GSF slowed things down a bit for development, also doesn't look populated enough, considering my queue times. Star Wars without proper space battles never made sense anyway, it was the right thing to do. Also this game, with terrible crafting, doesn't bring too much stuff to keep people busy at endgame other than raiding. CM is the only thing that's been running the ingame economy atm. I've personally always stayed away from CM and tried to get what i want through in game credits anyway. I'm hoping player housing and maybe another incentive like pazaak would come out to keep us busy while we are not raiding and get the economy running. Why am i playing then ? I'm just playing this game because i made the best friends i have ever made in this game. I love the community in this game, and players playing it. And despite all these issues, the game still has the name "Star Wars" in it and i get to be the jedi who's been through an amazing story to come where i am . Long story short, if you are enjoying the game it's not dead for you. If you are not, you might take a break or so. But in my personal experiences, no matter what else you try in the market MMO wise, you will return to this game. I wasn't expecting a thread like this from Macetheace, been following your posts ever since 2.0. Kinda disappointed at you . All the best.
  21. It's also a bit weird coz i had a chance to test this thing at Draxus NiMM today. Whatever you do, if a dispatcher targets you, you are doing fail dps and you are not going to be able to do the dps other classes do. Since its a tough dps check, you pull your teammates down. Mind Crush and Turbulence are major parts of our rotation and not being able to use them effectively drops your dps. I just can't let go of the feeling that TK is now the only "handicapped" spec at the moment. I might try doing it with balance. Actually i'm considering switching to balance after the last changes. B) Wrath will be changed to: When you deal damage with Force Lightning, you get a Wrath proc that makes your next Lightning Strike/Crushing Darkness instant and increases its damage by 35%.
