  1. I've done the hardcore stuff. I played EQ1 and got an epic for my wiz before Luclin was released. There were no flight paths. Ppl did corpse runs. Ppl have no idea what a raid is until you've been in a raid wipe with the leader screaming and the healers trying to log so you don't have to run naked back. WoW was less hardcore but the 40 mans were still intense. It's great fun. But all that stuff takes a ton of RL time. If your trying to work a RL job and spend time with your wife and kids while trying to do endgame content you either need very little sleep or your ignoring your RL responsibilities. That's why I have no intention of joining a guild because eventually you get sucked in spending too much time raiding and end up quitting. So give us a tool so the rest of us with less free time can enjoy our MMO fix.
  2. SWTOR is easy mode. It doesn't take any skill to get to 50. Is any of the OP content harder than Raid content in WoW? Judging by the rate that guilds are blowing through the OPs it doesn't look like it. What I want are tools to save time when I log in and want to do FPs.
  3. Not everyone has "several hours" of uninterrupted free time to play. If swtor wants to cater to people who have plenty of free time on their hands that's their choice. Maybe then they'll notice that those with RL constraints tend to be the ones who have jobs so they can pay $$$ for their subscription.
  4. I find it much easier getting medals in PvP playing a tanking vanguard vs a heal-specced smuggler. Now I know why. I'll start voting medals for healers in my matchs.
  5. Then you are missing out on alot of what makes SWTOR special: all the $$$ spent of voice acting, story, and group interaction in a FP. I am in no rush to hit 50 after seeing all the 50s milling around at Fleet sitting on their hands.
  6. Lol you think running a 16 man op is "easier" than the original 40 man WoW raids? You think there is more "community" in casual players getting frustrated in forming a group for FPs and end up soloing content or quitting? Go sit at your Fleet and tell me about the "community" that current exists. Yeah I thought so.
  7. Very odd how people wax eloquently about community. Based on my time on a very heavy pop PvE server (Shadowlands) there is almost zero community. General chat at Fleet is almost nil considering there are 130-150+ people milling around. Yeah there are attempts to form groups, but easily half end up failing. Not surprising since there is a split in the server population between 50s and non-50s. On mid level worlds in the 20-40 range getting a group for heroic 4 mans is alot more difficult than at launch. General chat is nearly dead. The only conceivable reason Bioware has not released a lfg tool is they don't have one. That there are so many gullible people eating this up as a design "feature" is hilarious. LFG tool didn't kill WoW. WoW simply got stale for alot of players. For God's sake it's been out for almost 8 years. I stopped playing WoW long before lfg tool was implemented from raid burnout.
  8. But but what about the COMMUNITY? You know, the one where everyone has to sign up with a guild so they can only group with their own guildmates? Does anyone want to upload a Youtube video of the "community" at Fleet on their server? Yeah it would be as embarrassing as it sounds.
  9. Thanks I didn't realize the proper way to play swtor is to use it as my Facebook account. Guilds don't "create" a community on a server. It's more like walled-off separate communities where you spend most of the time with other guildies. Can I form and lead a group? Yeah I can. I've been a guild officer in the past and ran pugs. Do I WANT to always be the one in charge of forming a group? No. I play SWTOR to relax and blow off steam. If a lfg tool is a "guild destroyer" then the guild was weak to start off with. A lfg tool does not replace the necessity for guilds in high-level raiding. It might crimp guild unity if all your running are Hogger raids though.
  10. So are we now having epeen contests as who can juggle RL and swtor the best? Explain again how providing a lfg tool ruins your swtor experience since your blessed with so many guild buddies? Who appointed you the end all be all to how swtor is supposed to be played?
  11. Fail at what? Not getting the best phat lewts? I'm not conceited enough to dictate to others what is the "proper" way to play swtor.
  12. Ironic how you are calling people lazy for not having the RL time for a guild in a video game.
  13. So if everyone wants to "join" a group why not give them the feature they want? I am not a noob. I formed groups for EQ1 where I had to whisper to ppl all over the server. Sure I can say LFM at fleet. Go to the world with ppl at the same lvl range and check in chat. Or if I am desperate, go old school and start whispering. It doesn't excuse bioware from leaving out a much desired feature.
  14. Some of us don't WANT to join guilds. Being in a guild is a serious time commitment. Yeah it's great if you have the RL time for it. There are alot of people out there who don't have that time. I don't want to join a guild just to be a leech. Yet that's what I would be because I don't have big blocks of time to raid or help out others. If your guild is so crappy that you feel threatened with a /lfg tool then it's not a very good guild.
  15. I have three toons (42 marauder, 27 vanguard, 16 smuggler) on shadowlands which is a very heavy pop server at peak hours. In the beginning it was easy to get groups for FPs. Now the server population has fractured into 50s interested in endgame content vs non-50 casuals and alts. It is a mess trying to get a group for anything besides Essles/BT. I just want to log on and enjoy some FPs without the wait. It's a break from soloing and I do it for the additional story in the game, because frankly I could solo alot faster to 50 just bypassing most of the FPs.
  16. It's hard to go wrong with biochem. It is a relatively low-maintenance crew skill that provides your toon with a nice attribute buff and heal packs. Only problem I run into is materials necessary for the blue type stims. The level 1 mats (biochemical agent) are easy to buy off the AH but level 2 and above are scarce on my server. People want an arm and a leg for them, and I gave up slicing for diplomacy after it got nerfed.
  17. If I found a slotted level 20 piece of gear is there a limit to the level of mod I can add to it? For example can I stick a level 29 mod on it? 39? I mod my equipment every 4-5 levels and I can't remember what the original level on some of my equipment is anymore. I'm left guessing whether some of my higher lvl mods will be wasted.
  18. I don't remember this encounter. I picked the light side option though.
  19. How about playing a class because you like to play it? Trying to pick a class based on which one is the most overpowered atm assumes Bioware is not going to rebalance classes in the future. A class that excels at one role (PvE, PvP, or endgame) does not mean it will excel at another. A jack-of-all-trades may be great for PvE content but be limited in the endgame. Using WoW as an example hunters are one of the best classes for PvE and PvP content, however in high level endgame content was limited because they can't match the dps of rogues. So pick what you want to play. It's not like it takes that long to reroll another toon and hit 50 anyway. Better yet enjoy the ride up to 50 since the endgame content is the weakest part of SWTOR.
  20. Most gear dependent class I have played in SWTOR. I've played jk, sorc, merc, and others. I would guess gunslinger and sniper are similar since burst damage is the major characteristic. If your using sabers with blue hilts more than 4 levels below your current level its a noticeable drop in dps IMO.
  21. The class is fragile. It does not mean it's broken. If enough ppl cry about it and Bioware caves in and gives the class some buffs fine with me. People have argued the pros/cons about PvE leveling vs PvP vs end game of different classes forever. The game has been out less than a month. Relax. I enjoy the class and look bad***** with two sabers. If more people are scared off playing a marauder because of all the negativity it's more loot for me. I used to buy into the gospel that the marauder is a glass cannon. Well it is a glass cannon. However if you blast the mob in the face even harder then you win. I've tackled 2-3 gold starred elites at the same level solo and come out on top. It's all in the prep.
