  1. As a SWG fan (RIP) i cannot see the logic behind swtor's low function. I meen games that have been out for 7+ years and advanced etc in many ways, but bioware release a game that would be better suited 5 years ago. Bioware did not do there research, they do not understand mmo gamers and tbh they never will.
  2. I have to agree on the DA2 fact. And yea just loaded up ME3 and im hit with "NEW DLC" ***? DLC at launch, really? and its the same part of the collectors edition? EA you greedy £$%£$
  3. agrees, has been covered many times and replys have been given from the dev's. A nice forums search would benifit the OP greatly
  4. I enjoy swtor, but a sheep i am not. I see faults where they are and praise when its due. But to become blind to the point that you follow the herd and never question why is not the way. "Constructive criticism is needed for a game to develop, blind followers are not."
  5. When someone who raids NM as a mainspec dps guardian and or commando dps, then you should really listen. Your points are about pvp only, you dont mention pve at all and tbh GS rock in pvp. PVE = knowing your class well PVP = knowing every class well and working around that. IF you struggle at something in pvp, its not usually the class, but the player. Every class sucks to everyone who plays them, you dont see how well your class is until you step into anothers shoes and see it from the other side
  6. Yea the problem with swtor dps is imo that it only gives two different types and only 1 real debuff (armor) for most classes. The issue is basicly, do you want ranged heavy dps which brings alot to the table for raid groups? GS lvl 42 aoe shield is priceless for enrage timers and some nasty boss aoes. As a whole, the GS brings more advantages to the table than any other pure dps BUILD. We have high end dps constantly, we have a nice knockback and defence ability and can even offtank if done well (even in the sharp tree). Im a sharpshooter and love my rotations and damage abilitys. even tho 45 i 9/10 hit top dmg in ops. Imo a raid should always have a GS and a mando for optimal dps output, every other class works around these two dps classes when it comes to pure dps.
  7. Lvl 50 guardian/rakata gear (dps gear and tank) Lvl 50 commando dps Rakata gear lvl 45 GS (lvl gear) Ok well i feel i can add alittle light into this convo Dps in swtor is alittle bit all over the place but basicly you have 2 types. Burst/dot Nw the classes that use dot are the hybrids, and yes they do some decent dps as my jk guardian does have a perma dps slot in raids (bonus of being an offtank) and my commando is backup for hardmodes or "gear runs". So i decided to role a gs for the story and stayed for the pure awesome combat and gear. The GS is the highest burst dps class. What i meen when i say burst is and i will give a perfect example of the situation.... Soa 3RD phase - you have on average a 10 second window to dps him x3 times when hes stunned, dot classes suffer here, even mandos do as they need to build up there buff/debuff, but smuggler GS just pawnface, the amount of potential dps you can put out in the same amount of time as a mando or hybrid is insane. Nw commando are high end dps classes, but there dps falls short of GS when you remember that there class works mainly on keeping up there rotation no questions asked. While GS does have a 3 skill rotation, all your other skills just slot in between cooldowns, you can keep this going constant and have that all important ranged interupt that everyone seems to forget. So to sum up the classes based on dps.... guardian - high dot damage, low "in yo face" dmg. Sage - same as above, but with alittle more spammable cast skills. Vanguard - same as guardian/melee Scound - High burst dmg, low longterm dmg. Mando - high burst dmg, high longterm dmg with more of an ammo issue than GS and lack the interupt to reach there full potential. two skills gain dps with 3 or more grav rounds, and i can tell u having grav round interupted in pvp spells doom for most mandos. Shadow - have not played this class past lvl 25 due to the fact i bloody hate skirts GS - High burst dmg, easy energy management, high end longterm dmg, RANGED INTERUPT with some very nice cooldowns for those "omg pawnz i haz agro" and the rotation is easy to mantain due to the fact only 3 skills link together. Also if we change targets mid rotation it does not effect us. Sentinal - weakness in melee form, dot dmg (like guardian) very low defence, no taunt, no guardian leap (love this about my guardian....what? you have agro? poof no u dont) but high dmg in long fights (provided they can keep there rotation up. Now some may disagree with me but this is based on my raid experiance in NM and playing afew dps classes. BONUS Our rotation dosnt effect our rotation, we can keep up the high end dps even when switching targets. Sadly hybrids, if allow there dots to drop have to build them up again (mando/guardian) All this might be bollocks to some people, but hey i love GS and have even benched my 2 50 raid ALTS for my 45 GS. This class is amazing and sadly underplayed. Peace out
  8. Ok to explain this i few words its "lazy guild leader/officers", to expand on the explanation..... People recruit on a need for spot bases these days, they dont recruit anymore, they replace. That is the issue, as you may have 20 people in guild 4 of those people wilol be rotated every week for raids. Meaning that potentially 4 ppl will miss raiding. Because there is a set limit on raids (and not a progressive difficulty on how many are in the raid) then people will always be left out. This raid design is terrible, was terrible in wow and even worse in rift. So bioware decided to copy it. Ok so back on track, i have found in many guilds that once an officer/guild leader attains rakata gear or any endgame majority gear (in any game) they become alittle anti-social within the guild system. (using officer chat to talk instead of guild chat). That annoys me to no end, why the hell do you need a perma officer chat for gods sake Back to topic, so they become out of touch with the guild and dont see when people slowly stop logging in, they dont replace said members and the raid goes from 16man to 8 man within a week. Guild leader: its ok bob is afk for a week, george is taking a short break and barney said he would brb. Member: Really? why not recruit new members, we need it to progress in raids. Officer: I dont want to have to do normal raids again. Member: So as far as your concerned you wont help the guild? Guild leader: Atm we gain the same loot from 8mans as we do from 16, so lets just see how 8 mans go, then we will discuss this issue with the officers and get back to you. Member: Dude there are 5 people online and 3 of you are officers, just discuss it nw ffs. Officer: **random rubbish about being an officer** Some it up, people dont want to help anyone The main issue can be many things but tbh, its all about the guild helping new members and actually recruiting them. If a guild dosnt recruit (and dosnt rotate its raid members) then it will fail. But hey this all could be down to the fact the servers say standard/light instead of heavy. What do i know Peace out xx
  9. This, once people enter a guild they tend to only look outside there guild when they want something. Sad fact tbh, but i first noticed this in RIFT. Also like to add a high % of people now use voice chat outside of raiding, meaning less need to press enter and say hello
  10. And your evidence is? basicly your saying "because i want free loot, everyone wants free loot" Dont make up random points and then pass them as facts. The majority of mmo gamers are not "casual" the majority of gamer jumpers are casual. The bottom feeders who jump from mmo to mmo and dont even wait to endgame till they pass judgement and start complaining "i want, i want, i want" You sir are correct in a way that a monkey and fly a plane, they could but i aint cleaning up the mess.
  11. People dont enjoy the grind to get items, be it craft/pvp/pve/raids/solo/instance whatever. The new generation of mmo gamers have entitlement issues. Thats it, they want everything now, easy and almost free. Then they go ahead and complain that there is nothing to do at endgame.... I do miss having to spend actual time to gain items. The idea was that uber rare epic relic items where hard to get and gave the person who gained them a sense of status. Because lets be honest working your way up the ranks in any system/medium in the world takes time and gives rewards. But todays gamers want it fast free and easy and complain about that once they realise they just ruined yet another mmo. Sadly this is just my opinion, an opinion shared by many gamers who dont want hardcore content, but at least want longterm goals that give rare rewards. But alas every other 50 wants to be darth maul and obi-wan and if they cant achieve that then they QQ till the devs cave. This is the future of mmo's atm unless some company decides to raise the middle finger, strap there balls tight and tell there community to work for there reward.....
  12. I have no issue with voice chat. Usually if we find ppl who seem to "outburst" during ops we warn them once and if they do it again mute them. They leave raid? we replace and either kick them from guiild if there attitude continues to effect others enjoyment or ban them from raids until they apologise or agree to stop. Claiming "voice chat" is the devil is alittle backwards. I agree its annyoing when too many people talk, but that is an issue with YOUR guild/raid not the system. MY guild atm have fun, we laugh and joke and when it comes down to doing the fight we go quiet, work well, and respond to the raid leader using txt/actions. This is what a good system allows to happen. Again its not the system its the users.
  13. Many bugs atm, last night my guild went in for KP HM and SOA NM (we only do hm to geared specific people easier) For some reason we couldnt change the mode. KP was stuck at normal no matter what happened and soa got stuck in nightmare at the second phase of his cycle. So we couldnt reach the platforms to attack soa and normal raids are useless to us Married with the SOA loosing agro bug in the third phase, which we have tried no dps, guardian leap spam the healers etc, nothing works. Atm there is no way to know if soa is going to loose agro while ur waiting for a pillar stun or not. Meh, i enjoy this game but when your creating tactics to work around raid bugs more than tactics for the fight it gets alittle stupid imo
  14. You do know that as this is the START of an mmo making alts is mostly the norm. Look at wow and rift, most ppl who play those games ended there 1st few months with more than one max level character. Stop complaining about people sujestions because you dont like them. More content will come, complaining on the forums is not exactly constructive at all
  15. Well from what has been passed around during beta, threat isnt mainly based on average dps. If a commando is spamming grav round and wonders why he keeps getting agro then im sorry i just let him die. In a rotation a smart dps will always include his de-agro skill and a 1 or 2 second break where he can loose agro and gain ammo. The problem with dps in this game is not that there so good they take agro, its that they are so bad they do not see why ^^
  16. With guardian i find it easy, jump in hit 1 mob, stasis 2nd, force push another kill 1st jump to 3rd (pushed) saber through 2nd. All this while i use force sweep and aoe agro taunt. and the single target taunt i use on a mob we are not hitting. Its just finding a rotation that suits you. Tanking 8mans in nmm atm and honestly i dont have an issue. O and dont forget to "guardian leap" those pesky commandos once and a while (use guard on highest melee dps)
  17. Having no issues with threat. Once you get some decent gear i dont often loose agro and when i do its to a commando who can tank the dmg. Rule of thumb = if its not gold+ then tanking it isnt a major worry. (Gaurdian defence spec - columi/rakata geared)
  18. Kinda agree with you, though they wont do this simply because "routes change, plans change and promising content that we may need to delay will cause more issue than its worth" But yea i do wish there was as section of the forums that gave us some information on the devs other than the "dev section" which is basicly just a list of all the smart %$^ replys the devs give some threads.
  19. no, just no. I cant begin to explain why this would set us back 8 years of gaming. Ideas like this can work in some games but an mmo based on the ruleset of swtor. No just couldnt work. To write a FP for every 4 person group out there will take longer and become dull fast, where as creating long difficult raids for 8/16man takes alot longer to gear people out. To stop people progressing to fast you would have to introduce a loot system like AION and the people who played that game will back me up when i say, god no. Grinding the same 4 man for months to get 1 item? just no. Doing 8/16 man content for loot that is more challanging, last longer and more likely to reward you? this is the option with the longer shelf life of content.
  20. So we must change a forum that has proven to be liked by many because you want pretty colours? This is the new generation of mmo gamers people ^^ And yea SERVER forums are coming they have announced that, if you actually paid much attention to the forums your complaining about
  21. atm the fix is either the sage/sorc pull skill or die at the entrance and get rezzed inside Find it funny we have to do this to gain access ^^
  22. Will give them another month to clean up, until then i am having fun but feel there are certain walls at endgame stopping you from actually being able to explore and expand your experiance (outside of raiding/pvp)
  23. Thanks fort he replys guys, feeling alot better about the spec now. And yea sawbones is alot of fun for me compared to sage/commando healing
  24. Yea i kinda agree but there is no such thing as a fully polised game. Most mmo's come out flawed with bugs, but yea i see your point. Mmo's are dieing fast these days because people simply always want more. Gone are the days that people were happy with grouping for the fun of it, pvping for the kill and grinding for the story. But thats just the human race as a whole. We are becoming more savage by the year imo.
