  1. How can you blame players? it makes no sense, we pay to play a game, and if the majority of ppl burn through the content "too fast" then how can you blame the players? Never understood how a product can blame its clients for its failure This game in closed beta had more content than it does after 1.2. Bioware are re-hashing content after 3 months of game time which took 3 years to happen in other mmo's. In my opinion it can never be the players fault for a product not having content, its the products fault for not finding a solution to fix the way content is eaten. But i respect your opinion i just dont agree, the only thing i can blame the players for is thinking this game would deliver on what was promised and not become another generic "trinity" mmo
  2. I cannot agree more with you, this game has so little of everything i cant begin to understand how bioware thought that creating a copy and paste wa somehow going to work. To destroy a giant you need an even bigger giant and not a clone, as everyone knows a clone will never be as strong as its base. I love this game and i want it to grow, become what i could be. But i feel EA have put too many walls around bioware and they are choking the life out of there creativity. Unless EA back off this game can never achieve its goal.
  3. There is no variety or reply value. its that simple Flashpoints are fun but once you have collected the required gear and played it afew times they become dull and boring. Raids once completed afew times they become dull and boring. Reason? everything in this game is too easy to gain. Armor is easy to collect, leveling is to easy etc This game needs collections. more mounts/armor/items/weapons/rares. ATM this games endgame items are all generic sets that look the same and are dull and boring. Nothing in swtor is rare or hard to gain, hell even getting full rakata implants/earpiece isnt hard its just "dull and boring" Ive played this game to death, six 50's across two servers/factions. I run a guild and find myself struggling to want to help ppl atm, not because im unhelpful but because im bored. Regards of hardcore or casual, i feel this game has no endgame grinds, nothing is difficult to gain and time isnt an issue as the raids can take around 1/2 hours (which is nice if that 1/2 hours you were actually challanged) Overall the concept of SWTOR was good, but they just gave us a stunning world with nothing in it. Ilum - dead planet with nothing but dailies that take 30mins to complete (you travel the same route over and over) Corellia - same as above belsavis - same as above What im trying to say is, there is nothing in this game that is considered a "variable" everything is constant and nothing is dynamic and as much as i love swtor for what i wanted it to be, i hate it as much for what it has become......a wow clone that has taken nothing but the worst from wow and added voice acting that once played through 1/2 times becomes a drag on the ears and a timesink that can be avoided by spamming space every quest hand in. GW2 is something that will change the mmo market, it may not destroy wow (infact i very much doublt it seeing as wow=mmo in most gamers minds atm) GW2 is what bioware should have done, instead we have a copy and paste that was somehow corrupted along the way and filled in with generic ideas that are called "fresh and new". Look back at the dev videos "you fight many characters" / "pvp is fresh and new, not seen before" / "in this game we try and avoid the same old kill big boss till it dies" and the list goes on, they either lied or rushed the game out, i would rather imagine EA pulled out the wipe and cried "more money" but hey what do i know, im just a simple gamer in a simple world with other simple minded people who simply wish to find a world they can call home. SWTOR is like a hotel for me, im going to stay for awhile, raid the fridge, watch some dirty videos then steal me some towels as i leave...
  4. I have 4 level 50's on the hidden beks republic side (just as info). I decided to re-roll imperial and chose red eclipse. I hit level 50 last night on my sith marauder only to go do some ilum dailies and be told by over 20 people that this one quest bug has been in game since beta. I cant stop laughing, really i cant stop laughing. I love this game, but im starting to see that fixing bugs is not at the top of there priority list, given that every set of patch notes i read, i bunch up the bugs and say to mayself "yea they will be fixed next patch instead". And you know what, its damn true.... Soa/the puzzle/loot bug/speeder bug = EV (endgame raid) As an example these issues took them several patches to fix, and all were "FIXED" with the 1st, they posted "fixed issue with soa agro etc" and then the next patch "fixed issue with soa agro etc". It makes u want to cry that a mmo at this level can release patches that dont work, over and over again. Like i said i love this game and just want to voice my frustration with patches and bug fixes.
  5. There is nothing wrong with this game tbh. its the genre that the issue is held. As a community, mmo gamers destroy games they love and hate with the same passion, the only difference is money. An mmo these days comes out and trys to push as much content out before it either goes F2P or implodes. Mmo gamers have no loyalty, no respect and no doubt about what they want until they get it. To better understand the mmo genre and the players themselves it would be best to spend several hours watching monkeys at the zoo, you will see a pattern emerge .... But on topic, yes this game is good, no its not amazing, yes the dev's are alittle out of touch with there ideas and yes im sure i will keep subbing aslong as there is content to eat, otherwise like every other mindless mmo gamer i shall move on and destroy the next field....i meen mmo i come to.
  6. Done this with and without over several characters, no difference in difficulty, just in time taken.
  7. http://galactic-voyage.com/Dark%20Side-Capital%20Ships-Subjugator%20Heavy%20Cruiser-Malevolence.htm Everything else is just target practice
  8. Atm the reply is basicly "the starships are part of your story, and character interation is part of the ships interior" So short answer is no But they have hinted at allowing customization within the ship (1.2 introduces a small part of it) Hope this helps
  9. There random drop specific. And tend to be class bound. Most of the bracers i have looted have been lvl 16 if that helps.
  10. There are three vendors you should always look out for on every planets starting area. Equipment commendations vendor Specialty items vendor Modifications commendaionts vendors Also using your map system should be a high priority, press M and play around with the left hand side. There are afew selections that allow you to change what appears on the map. Also the option to use a mag glass to show details such as vendors/banks/travel points etc I Suggest you play around with the options available before continuing any further, you will just burn yourself out if you dont
  11. Chill, it will come. There currently working on 1.2 and i dont expect a reply on this issue until after 1.2 fully settles into the community. I understand your frustration. I re-rolled because of this issue. But i dont think insulting bioware is going to help at all.
  12. Though i do enjoy time sinks in any game, the social point system is terrible. You do not get rewarded for endgame FP hardmodes while pugging or raiding etc but you do get them for grinding the 1st FP with a friend using space spam and speeders to ignore the majority of the instance. To recap... Most social aspect of the game = no social points Least group based social activity = highest social gain Bioware have a different view of what being social is than most people it would seem. I do like the idea of social items, but i find the way to attain them is rather backwards imo.
  13. Im sorry but im calling BS, you have no proof of any of this other than what sounds like a very good pvper with no LOAD LAG before speeders, became stunned at the turret and then ran away (if you knew anything about pvp there are several stuns that fill the resolve bar) I just think your crying wolf. wins or loses i dont care. Unless you bring something to the table other than your gone off bacon im not going to even consider your post as anything but a generic complaint about how the game isnt YOUR GAME ^^. Trying not to troll here and honestly i dont enjoy it, but tbh your doing nothing for yourself here.
  14. Ok let me understand this... You want class balance and ppl to stop cheating, yet when they do this you complain. You say this game feels like a beta, which i agree too but not for your reason. Your entire post is basicly you complaining that you dont want change unless its making things easier for YOU. Im sorry but nothing you have said here is valid in anyway. You give no evidence other than "i seen it, i seen it" which we all know in pvp ppl complain when they get owned and cry wolf. Mmo's evolve over time. Evolution is never always positive, sometimes change isnt always what we want, but what we need, deal with it. I welcome people with constructive comments and enjoy the read as yes there are issues with the game atm. But threads like these add nothing to this community.
  15. Yea this kind of gaming is based on social activitys. There should always be a bridge between solo/group/raid and pve/pvp/craftin in any mmo. Atm swtor dosnt have that and its effecting the community in a large way. many people dont see the effects as they may never have played a game that included these. The difference is huge. I dont want a copy and paste from other games, but they need to come up with ideas that will help ppl socialize outside of raids/pvp. Another idea was to have certain craft items need mats from other profesions. This helps ppl interact and trade mats to gain there required item from the end craft. Example - 10 items needed to craft a weapon/armor/mount. These items are 4/10 craft, 4/10 drops adn 2/10 quest rewards. This will give people a reason to group and down world bosses/quests and you will see ppl trading more "need item 2/10, willing to trade 3,4,6/10" I love swtor, but the lack of any trade system scares me, swg at least had that right and the community was so strong that everyone new everyone by 1st name. They helped each other regardless of guild, the community new that it could gain items by working together easier and in a more fun friendly way by grouping and trading. Bioware can do this, they just need the drive to see that having no social system in place hurts an mmo and creates mindless robot players that only log on for there raid/daily, pvp/pve rewards. Epic battles with rancors/faction bosses. Large scales grinds that are group friendly and solo at the same time. peace out
  16. There is nothing in this game that encourages social interaction. We as a race are horders and collectors, most of our social lives are spent gather information at least to share and trade with others. In online gaming you need items to replace that, achievements/goals to work towards. Developers have become lazy, expecting the gear race to encourage the social side of the game. Sadly this is not happening due to the way the guild system is set up. A group of 4/8 ppl can complete 90% of the content in this game without even looking outside of there guild. The only mmo i have played that helped social interactions was SWG. That game had so many items to collect trade, buffs u needed from other classes whilst gaming. Social areas that where fun and even the anti role players participated in the entertainer's random chat whilst waiting for your buff. Gaining an item that you had created a way to trade that item for one you needed. This mmo has no trade system and does not encourage social trading/chat. This trend has come from many mmo's such as aion/rift/AOC that you dont need a socially active guild to complete content. Bioware needs to act fast as the game is strong but the backbone is built on gear grind and that can only last for so long. Suggestion - Introduce a ingame TCG using the pazzak system. Introduce items that give u titles/stats that can be shared. Introduce Emotes that can only be gained buy doing a certain social activity such as duels/dance/emote uses. Give players a reason to help each other and interact with there servers economy outside of crafting. Gamers today need more of a push than 7/8 years ago. Today ppl need more fo a reason to participate in the pack. Fun is the aim of any mmo, be it casual or hardcore, pvp or pve. Creating a system that allows every type of gamer a way to interact with each other and have fun or gain rewards will help this game bacome more social (outside of the basic gear grind) Below i have included a list of things i found interesting in the range of games i have played... Rare collectors items that are gained from solo and group grinds Titles gained from simple social activites such as duels/dance/emotes Gaining stats from doing X activity X amount of times Preforming a social emote on X amount of races/classes to gain titles or new emotes Dueling X amount of ppl and wining/losing and gaining items/titles/stats/emotes Saving X amount of items to be traded for a title/emote/appearance World boss grinds that give personal rewards like appearance items/titles/stats/achievements. There are thousands of ways to help this increase social activity, it just seems todays game developers dont think its needed and so they increase the "gear" grind thinking that will help. IMO it wont. Peace out
  17. Well from what i can gather, not going 31 watchman is a large dps nerf. Issue atm is ppl want high numbers on there crits i.e 3k+ and they think that = best dmg. Having constant Dots that crit more than not is the way forward. Focus tree is terrible imo coming from a guardian and sent 50 31/10/0 atm for the aoe dmg reduction. Reduced dmg on soa energy orbs and in general gives the sent a boost towards guardian dps defence.
  18. For a start focus spec in raids? ^^ On topic remove acc on ur rakata with columni mods until you gain 25 raid mods. Acc should be around 98% and never above 100%. Also as a raid geared guardian i find my crit is around 35% with crit dmg at 75% with rakata gear and 25 crit mods to replace the horrible acc. Just saying though give watchman a try for raids as using an aoe tree for a enrage heavy game is kinda odd seeing as most mandos/smugs do enough aoe dmg for the raid. And the main issue is focus tree only does enough dmg to use it every 10 seconds or so where watchman = constant high end dps. crit/surge is still the way to go atm in most dps specced classes.
  19. Its a shame really, as i romanced kira during my mains LS lvling, and her story is kinda cool. But there are certain options during her story quest that are darksided choices which appeared to me as if you could corrupt her. Shame, this kind of small thing could make a difference when using companions, even though im a sent i was ready to use kira if i could indeed corrupt her allowing her to "like" my darkside choices. It seems that JK are only allowed 1 and 1/2 companions that are darkside aligned (rusk isnt darkside more "do what it takes" kind of companion) Maybe food for thought for bioware as at 50 every class other than healers tend to use healer companions, and to my knowledge all rpublic healers are mostly lightside set
  20. So after running with 3 50's all lightside ive decided to run a JK sent Darkside for fun. My question is... Is there companion corruption? My two starting characters seem to dislike the choices ive made which i dont mind if there LS only, but after hitting 50 on my guardian and seeing mostly lighside companions, im begining to wonder if companions like kira can be "turned" tot he darkside. Is this possible? as ive heard whispers of the sith warrior getting a female companion that bends to ur alignment choice when you gain her. Any info on this would be hot cheers.
  21. Some very funny ones there Seen so many of these win and fail moments since release
  22. Some very funny ones there Seen so many of these win and fail moments since release
  23. So yea kinda love hearing about other people and there experiance within swtor. So whats your best funny story for swtor, whats your fail and win (Try to keep them funny and not "omg this game sucks" ^^) "Win" Doing SOA NM and watching his health get to 0% and then the raid getting owned, only to get my chuck norris on and kite/stun down him Fail Getting to 50 and spending 20 seconds wondering why i cannot invite some dude in ilum to a group only to have him turn face, pawn me and start to lol so hard (hey it was 2 am and i had just hit 50 ^^) Spill those beans, whats your fail and win moments of swtor?
