  1. These WoW posts are really annoying. WoW isn't even that good IMO. Please. PLEASE...if you don't like SWTOR and like WoW better, go back to WoW!! You'll be happier. I'll be happier. And this forum will be a much better place for everyone.
  2. As it is right now, cutscenes allow players to make a choice, then 1 players character wins a roll and answers for everyone. What if (hah)...what if the game sort of took everyone's decision choices and randomly generated a group response that included 2 or 3 characters choices?!? In this respect, it's not just 1 character answering for everyone. It's the group answering based on their choices. It wouldn't have to be in every scene...but, imagine having some players making light side choices along with some players making dark side choices...how would that response play out? It could make for such an interesting dynamic. And if BioWare wanted to spend the time, it could make for endless combinations of dialogue based on player choices and class involvement. I don't know...just a thought
  3. +1 for the 6850. I had bought a 6870 to upgrade from my 4850 (which I didn't have a problem with really, just wanted uber performance) and then my friend talked me into upgrading that to a 6950. Pfff... I think the 6850 would work perfectly fine unless you're going beyond 1900x1280. My laptop has a 6770 built in and I have no problems running it there either (very smooth!), but that's at 1388x768. NVIDIA has good cards too, but I've always stuck with ATI.
  4. This is why they need some long ones and some short ones. The long ones to satisfy those who want a deep/interesting story. The short ones for those who just want to get it out of the way (if a deep/interesting story can be included, then bonus points!). Personally, I would be GREATLY disappointed if they removed (and/or stopped creating) the longer flashpoints. And just to make things clear, I have 3 spouses and 4 gf's, etc.
  5. Unfortunately, this forum is littered with people who exaggerate to make a point. If they dumb down and/or shorten the flashpoints, some of the "fun" will be taken out of them. 1 hour 30 min is just fine (maybe a bit long for some). There should be some longer flashpoints for those who want a deep/involved story to drive through. The shorter ones are no better than a typical HEROIC mission, which there are plenty of already.
  6. Actually, every character in TOR would be dps in that case. There would still be fewer tanks/healers Until, of course, they create classes that don't have a dps tree. I'll be honest here...I really am not too fond of this dual spec idea. However, I do see the interest in it. Particularly for those who PvP and PvE. The problem is, everyone will want to take advantage of it and that will change things (personally, I think in a negative way). What I really hope, if BW does decide to implement this dual spec idea, is for them to be very careful about how it's done. Maybe certain abilities can be flagged as "changeable", so in a dual spec world, those abilities can be changed out for others. Or, just allow the change when moving from PvP area to PvE (not sure how that would work)... I just don't like the idea of people being able to completely change who they are at will just to fit in with a group. I like not having the perfect group sometimes. It makes things challenging. And I don't want this change to impact how groups are formed. If I'm dps as commando, and someone asks me to change to healer spec, I will rage quit and come post an extremely emotional and entirely irrational complaint on these boards!! j/k I know in the PvP world, however, things get extremely competitive...those are the people who are desperate for this change. I don't blame them really. I used to PvP all the time in other games. But, that doesn't change the fact that dual spec'ing will have it's side effects (dare I say, consequences). People say there's no reason not to have it. They are wrong. Good and bad will come of it. It's up to BW to minimize the bad. I trust them (mostly). I trusted them with my life until they released that horrid expansion for DA lol But, I still like BW And I LOVE this game.
  7. What's the difference between allowing changing AC's and changing specs? To me, it's all the same. Yet, so many people think changing specs is ok and even MANDATORY, while changing AC is absolutely unacceptable. Give my Commando a change in spec option and I can be 2 completely different characters if I wanted to. So, why not let me change my AC if I want to? I really don't think there needs to be a dual spec option. And I just don't see why/how it would make things better (which is what so many people claim). Of course, maybe I'm biased because I enjoy playing healers and it seems to take away that uniqueness when so many more people can do what I do at the touch of a button. If I spec to heal, I want to heal and want people to know that's what I do. I don't want people saying, why don't you change to DPS since we already have a healer. No thank you.
  8. If there were ways to adjust breast size, I'd probably tone them down a bit. But, I have no problem with how they are. That being said, I am a bit spoiled in that I used to play City of Heroes where customization was a game in and of itself. In CoH, it can be difficult to recreate the exact same character look if you don't take careful notes. It would be awesome if they built that kind of customization into SWTOR. Imagine a height, bust, chest, legs, slider. Imagine adding a head shape size, height, width, etc slider. Imagine individual sliders for eyebrows and complexion. I don't know how difficult this would be, but it would go a long way IMO to make character creation more fun and unique.
  9. I just did Hammer Station last night as well. I was so excited to run through it due to how much fun Esseles was. But, Hammer station was a let down in comparison. I kind of shrugged it off as a Flashpoint I'll not do again, but now people are saying some of the others are just as bad. That's unfortunate, because Esseles really got me looking forward to giong through all the Flashpoints (numerous times!). Hammer Station kind of killed that excitement :\ Hopefully they add more FUN Flashpoints in the future, or modify the existing ones. I really think the choices that you make in them are what make them FUN. Especially when you're doing it with a group of people. It's fun to see your team interact with each other during the cutscenes/choices.
  10. The only big negative I see is all the ************ and moaning people are doing over trivial issues. Yes, some things need to be looked at and could be fixed to provide a better game. But, the game was just released. It's FRIGGIN AWESOME!!! I'm going to keep playing due to the FRIGGIN AWESOMENESS. I haven't encountered a single issue that's been posted on this forum that I would consider a negative. And get this...The game will only get better
  11. I really don't like the Need/Greed system since there's too many people who take advantage of it. I see it happen ALL the time. And getting kicked off a team doesn't mean squat, since it's so easy to find another team. I hate it. In response to the OP's situation...that was unfortunate. While you may have "Need"ed the eq since it upgrades your existing eq, the random nature of the loot system was playing heavy favors that probably made the guy feel left out. I realize he was clicking Need from the beginning (which would piss me off if the eq wasn't something he could use directly). But, imagine if all the good eq being dropped was being Needed by other classes and nothing being dropped was useable by you. At some point, do you feel left out? At some point, do you click Need just to try and get something out of it? In all fairness, maybe you should get a piece so you can get something...sell it to the bank...heck, sell it to the players who do really Need it lol... Thankfully, this hasn't happened to me or anyone I've grouped with. But, I do see people taking advantage of the system. Yes. I hate it.
  12. Are you describing your wait in the queue? Sorry, so many queue posts I had to do it But, I agree...seems like yesterday that I was PO'd about the releease date being late Dec
  13. What you guys are discussing here is etiquette. That doesn't exist in game Ran Esseles over the weekend and some guy was racing through it (with sprint) and clicking NEED for every piece of equipment Made me so mad for the players who were doing this for the first time and were lower level. I ended up turning my sprint off to stick with the lowbies and let the #$^@^ die once (accidentally, of course)
  14. I chose in store pickup and got my email yesterday that I can come pick it up on the 20th (no sooner!). lol Oh well... Hope you guys get your shipments soon.
  15. I nearly posted a thread just like this, then decided not to. I'm so frustrated with these boards. Nothing but complaining, despite being offered an incredibly good game. BioWare has done a great job and this launch has been perfectly fine. Nothing is ever perfect (except when used with the word fine lol), yet people expect it to be that way. I can't wait for launch day, when this general forum starts having useful and helpful threads again.
  16. lol...I noticed the same thing. In 1 day, my server went from LOW to HEAVY! I guess that's the price to pay for getting in early! All those people who are complaining about not getting in don't realize how good they got it. they'll get prime selection of the lowest population servers come launch date. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence I may decide to start on a new server after Xmas if the one I'm on gets too bad. Then at least I have 2 servers to play on if necessary. I like that idea anyways, in case 1 server goes down.
  17. I got my early access invite on Tuesday 6am, but didn't log in until last night. I noticed that every server had either standard or low levels of population (very nice!). I had no wait queue and once my character was made, I had absolutely no problems playing the game. Lag was non existent and believe it or not, there were not too many people running around. I was able to complete every task without being bothered (much). Quite frankly, I think things are going very well for this game. For the 2 hours I've played (not counting beta access), I am really enjoying this game. What I'm about to say next may piss off those who are already pissed off about things, but I really wish there would be less complaining about how access is being handled. It's being handled perfectly, IMO. I was not expecting to get in on the 13th! Heck, I wasn't expecting to get in on the 15th. Expectation breeds frustration. If the wording was read for what it stated, there was not even a guarantee of early access. Didn't it say something to the effect of: "may get as much as 5 days early access". That means you "may" get 0. Sorry people. Normally I'd feel bad for those not getting in early (and I still sort of do). But, all these complainers are really starting to get on my nerves. I'd sell my early access to someone if it would get just 1 whiner off these boards. It's not the end of the world. The game will be released soon. Next week, in fact!! Until then, beta testing is still going on. The only difference is that the current beta testers will be able to keep their characters.
  18. It looks like there's more East coast servers than West coast. And all the West coast PvE servers are FULL :\ What does Location: N/A mean?
  19. I got my invite at 6am this morning. Should I have logged in by now?
