  1. Can be easily countered by a slowely increasing armor buff, self heal on boss. After a certain point 1 tnk 15 healers could spend a week in the encounter and not accomplish anything. But that would req fore-thought and anticipation of player actions by the devs. Unlikely.

  3. As a side note kinda related; alot of QQ could be avoided if armortech could craft an augment applier for med/hvy orange armor only, while synth could craft one for light orange only. Crafter makes; puts up on AH; some buys the thingy; applies to orange gear viola. Would help both AT and SW ,even Armstech without trivializing pre existing gear looks.
  4. thats still 3-4 peices of columi, 2-4 exotech gear/schem devided by 8 for about the same time investment of 1 columi peice devided by 4 with the added benifit OPS never drops (that I've seen) items for classes not there. heck you can clear 4/5 EV normal in 30-45 minutes

FE- possible -If you skip the bonus and if comps are columi/rakata geared- tricky part is the 1v1 portions of final boss fight and comps inability to rupt unlimited power D7- No -way to much companion micromanagment for target circles Kaon -doubt it CC is king here and comps suck for that BfI - doable if really over geared
  7. It depends, goto a mmo board that is a "niche" and it's not so bad. Goto one that tries to cater to a wide range of different tastes and playstyles many of which tend to be mutualy exclusive and it's inevitable. [EDIT --->]Thats BW's lookout for choosing the market of "all inclusive" and I have no sympathy. If they had targeted a specific, or at least more limited demographic there would be fewer "issues" imo. PVE, PVP{world pvp/zone pvp/que pvp}, HCraiders, Casual raiders, soicial butterflies, altaholics, singleplayer RPGrs, Co-op Rpgrs, Hack N Slashers, SWG refugees, WOW burnouts, Story Based gamers, grinders{OCD} people who can't grind{ADD}, those in between, min/maxers, stop and smell the flower folks, and last but not least--->crafters(these guys really got screwed) they got 23 days, thats how much patience I have left. Don't remember BWL(whatever that is) skipped wow after beta testing it, shoulda done same here. . [EDIT --->] At the end of the day it's a product; if said product want's my recurring payments it will meet my minimum req, (couldn't care less about the rest of you:D) or I go bye bye cheers
  8. In regards to the underlined statement. lol KP NM was downed the DAY it released. Most casual raid guilds are in full columi now 2 mo. in(on my server anyway). The avg new content cycle for an mmo is around 6 mo. The only large number of people I see withought at least some columi are altaholics or those who only pvp. So, on my server at least, I think they missed the mark if they were only setting a place holder for a "small" portion of the population base.
  9. what do you mean? they biggest diffences between tion/col/rak is the color and mod tweeks. The textures and models are pretty much the same. Following that trend a new armor set would take maybe an hour.

  13. As I stated above the 5x28=140 (168if you include crit weap) stat increase is no more/less OP than the biochem rakata stim but look how well that went over. sY I'm glad my mains 400 bio, alts 400 ArmorM, other 400 Arms now I can add that 140/168 to my rakata stim buff*grin*
  14. there is some quest rewards that still have em (my forex has a green modable CORE) Last time I was cyber tech you could craft green modables but correct functionally they are the same
  15. Let me clarify it for you then, look at your teir armor/weapon (pve or pvp) notice anything missing? like I dunno an armor mod, hilt barrel? They are there, you just can't see/remove them(you could in beta but min/maxers were getting stats above what BW thought was healthy) Coincedently that is also where the set bonuses reside. What one can do once change is implemented; is remove armor mod from tier armor and toss in orange gear no probs right? well what if that orange gear was crit crafted (means it has an aug slot)? At this point the armor is no longer a purely "social" change you can actually improve stats significantely 5x28=140 add another 28 if you get a crit crafted orange weap. basically rakata stim equivelant(which people loved so much they whined about em on forums for weeks) The few people who don't mind the look of their tier armor will QQ because you just made it obsolete(to them anyway) 1.QQ incoming = Screwz U BW U just mad my Rakrta/BM geear usleess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The problem comes in sooner or later groups for the under geared will be even more difficult to find as we'll now have another check mark for pugs: Ah man sorry your not high enough HP, wearing greens, you got no augs /kick) 2. Some people who are not armor tech won't be as lucky/fortunate/foresited to have that kinda cash laying around. 3.QQ incoming ICant' ufford my raid guilds Requirments BW U DIE 3.a QQ alternatevly I can't afford/find the social look I want because it happnes to be the quickest turnaround mats vs selling point for armormechs:D The reasons BW removed taking arm/hilts/barrles outta purples hasn't changed; min/maxers achieving unintended stat increases; so look for a nerf at some point. Based on trends so far my guess is to make crit crafted oranges BOP to crafter who maintains a 400 armorteech/synth ect rating to wear, which leads me my next point... All the people who whined and moaned about biochem being OP will now have a new stump to preach about AM/synth= enjoy the love incoming fellas:D
  16. Lol wait till a raider(who I promise are going to eek out max performance) in a free moment runnning a HM FP pug. People QQ when they don't get in groups due to having lower Hp, green gear, whatever. Now you can add sorry mate your gear's not auged out enough /kick. Your naive if you think it won't happen when you consider the stat varience of 5 reg orange with vs a set with 5+augs =an extra 140 in core stats(5x28)thats the equiv of rakata stim btw. And we all remember how butthurt people got over those don't we.

  18. ok gonna try to be helpfull; as counter intuitive as it may seem DO NOT DO Esselss HM 1st as it's one of the harder HM's(real tight enrage timers) for repubs(don't blame me I didn't design it) Your best bet for initial gearing via HM's is farm Taral V and False Emporer the two easiest HM's(for repub) then Kaon under siege after that Malestrom prison and Battle for illum(if your willing to skip the wave boss, forget name, you can do this at the FE, T V gear lvl) and or ess
  19. Why doesn't swtor utilize the entire planet? the Hero engine as currently modded in TOR would probably blow up your PC
  20. not really I can pwr level armor tech to 100 in a matter of minutes, buy mats off the GTN in the same timeframe. Then be back to 400 bio by the end of the day/week (depending on freq of armor crits). The only "work" involved is getting the crits, and thats merely an exercise in repetition
  21. uhm lol? easy dye does not a social tab make; I believe you are thinking of UO, go look at LOTRO for a ref of a decent one. Particuarly since you made the comment that they can't make everyone happy(I challenge you to goto an mmo's website that has a working social tab and see if they have QQ's about functionality or stat advantages, or any negative feedback that would not be also relevant to a mod system) I'm looking at it from a question of manhours, minimum it's gonna take BW 6+mo from the date of release of 1.2 to fully iron out the mod system (feel free to quote me on that) while a social tab would be a one time update with comparitive little later tweeking. Which in turn will free up manhours for more bug fixes content updates ect EDIT sometimes when the wheel works there's no reason to re-invent it
  22. you seem to be under the impression that a social tab is the same as an armor modification system, it is not. A social tab will address all issues people have with the clone look(particuarly in endgame) without adding new things to "fix" The mod system can do the same thing with the one caveot that there's whole reams of testing that needs to be done on it. Just look at the debate about crit crafted oranges as an example. In 6mo a year sure the mod system will prob be every bit as viable as a social tab. but for the next lil bit expect a lot of QQ and alot of butthurt Feel free to quote me on this for posterity in 3 mo. I won't even say told ya so.
  23. don't worry it'll get changed nerfed later; as soon as BW figures out that people who can crit craft or afford from GTN will be using crit oranges predominately while for whatever reason some willl be unable to. The one's unable/unwilling will get butthurt and QQ on the forums for weeks and we'll see the same "fixes" that worked so well for slicing,biochem,cybertech,ect. My prediction we'll be back here in 3 mo. after the nerf bats done begging again for a social tab cause everyone looks alike again.
