Is it 20 per planet? or 20 overall from the 3 planets listed to visit?

20  overall  ... And it took me about 1 hour (at a certain location that wasn't  crowded ) .

It's boring , yes, but hardly  the worst grind in SWTOR. :(

question ;

is there a reason it needs to be done fast ?

is it needed to be completed, to start another mission ?

can we do it over a week or two ?

I did this by finding gambers and setting up a macro and walking away while I was cooking. Checking back, finding another gamber, setting my macro and walking away again. The mission should not be that boring.

It is one of the weekly GS objectives.  That means it has till the weekly reset to get done but it is a new objective people haven’t done before, GS3 started late, and most people don’t want to have an objective that takes a week to do because BW didn’t include enough NPCs or have them respawn in a timely enough manner.

Also, it can be done at any cantina or casino in the game. So, I went to Rishi, which was way less populated, and it was way easier to get done. And, by "less populated," I mean that most of the time there was no one, and sometimes there was another person who saw that I was arresting cheaters, and they left.

You probably don’t want to post that you are using macros in the game.

I spent multiple hours trying to finish this objective. The best solution I found was to set my alarm for 2 or 2:30 am when there is a low population on the server. What makes this objective even more ridiculous is that I counted over 70 machines in the Republic Nar Shaddaa casino that didn't have the cheat detection temporary skill enabled.

Edit: the Imperial-side Star Cluster Casino has well over 100 machines on the gaming floor, could the developers use those for the catch gamblers objective?  No, only the 4 tucked away in another room with a 5 minute respawn timer. It's so stupid!

It's not 5 minutes. Took me 45 to catch them all in one room. A gambler respawns about every 2 to 3 minutes.

Which cantina/casino are you using? The ones I have found are on a 5 minute timer and there is only (2) slot machines grouped together.

The problem with this kind of quest is not just the number you need. No real information to begin with (yes, a post very late in the day about it but not at the start) but there are just too many players there. After one hour I just gave up. I not going to waste my gaming time on a mind-numbing quest like this, no matter how many points you get.

I just hope that this particular type of quest id removed for up-coming weeks.

it does kill your time.

I read that some are done in 30 something minutes.  That's sweet, but for me , with 2 gamblers all to myself, only 9 had cheated in that time,  I know it's just a daily, but does it have to take your whole day, just on that one mission, for little gain

Yeah, I completed it in about 30 minutes myself. The trick is to rotate planets. By starting the weekly (heroic) quests you can quickly travel from one planet to another. Just delete the quest when you're there and QT to the cantina. If places are still crowded, there are Rishi and Ilum that are usually quiet. When you see someone doing the same thing, reverse the order in which you rotate.

Worked like a charm for me.

Catching 20 gamblers cheating is way too many for this.  They don't respawn fast enough and you have multiple people standing around trying to click on the few that are available.  This should have been no more than 10 to complete.

I dis it in less then a hour early this a.m 2 in tne cantina on d.kaas, 2 in the cantina on tat, no1 was there I was in in about 50 mins

Before GS1, I was doing that, using heroics to quick travel, getting past customs,  but back then I didn't delete them, cuz they stayed. Now they're gone after daily reset. I kinda still use that method, but just to getting back to the planet, since I haven't acquire a ship yet, I may just go back to it, just to quickly travel to be doing your way of travel

Yes this would have made a lot more sense. Just use the casino and activate all these machines or spawn them like they do in the nightlife event. They could have added a few more machines in the galaxy wide cantinas as well.

This quest takes way too much time and that is all good for people who have nothing better to do. I finished it  but not spending this amount of time each week when I have a hundred other things I need to be working on in game.
