Launcher is not working since update around noon today

The launcher auto updated today and has been crashing ever since.

What I've tried so far.

  1. Using the installer to repair my installation.
  2. Full uninstall and reinstall of the game.
  3. Restarted my system and tried again.

 

System information:

  • OS - Windows 11 build 22000.434
  • Processor - AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS with Radeon Graphics, 3000 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)

Per the updated pushed out to Steam, my launcher is no longer working after about noon EST today. Here's what i get from the debugger:

I have made no system changes, i have validated my drivers and windows patches are up to date and even tried both steam and the locally installed launcher, and both get stuck in the same loop of stating "launcher is being updated" but crashing and never allowing a login.

Hello RandoCalrissiian,

 

If you used any patch to solve Alder Lake CPU incompatibility, you should now exclude it from start. It's no longer needed and even may create such infinite loop. BioWare updated today the launcher and solved that problem. However, if you didn't have a problem with CPU before, but the update broke it, please contact support.

Apparently the last solution of a problem with Alder Lake could break the compatibility with some Ryzen CPUs. But it's still a bit too early to make such conclusion, need to get more reports from Ryzen users.

 

Try to use the last launcher repair utility, a link was published in thread about Alder Lake and in Developer Tracker.

AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS windows 10. Game worked fine yesterday. Launched it today said launcher needed updating, now wont load.

 

Same, Ryzen 9 4900HS, Windows 10. Launcher stays on screen about a second before crashing.

 

Regular launcher, not Steam.

OK, it's systematic. Please tell the exact version of Ryzen (it can be seen on BIOS start screen, in the System properties or reported by the CPU-Z utility). It may help developers to fix this "overfix".

Pretty sure we aren't getting on tonight . They probably all went home for the day. Even though this happened like 8hrs ago. Unacceptable though.

 

Briefly got it to go past the launcher. Logged in, no servers on the server selection screen. Restarted the game and back to launcher not working.

AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS with 3000 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s) and I have the same issues. Launcher wont stay open. Did a reinstall and even tried the patcher fix and nothing is working Edited by Fergz

I can report it worked fine up until the update was auto-pushed by steam (per my settings). I hadn't made any changes to my pc at all, so it's nothing to do with that. It was working a couple hours prior as well. Hopefully that helps with the bug fixing. I can also report that Steam has tried to redownload files several more times but to no avail (as seen in my download history). I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling a couple times even, so that does not help.
