ImmortalLowlife Posted October 17, 2020 Share Posted October 17, 2020 (edited) As a bit of an aside, if you are really into space flight missions, I do encourage you to try out Star Wars Squadrons. I was surprised how much I liked it. It's a mild diversion for me since I'm not that into the genre, but I was pleasantly surprised how well the controls work on the PC (haven't tried VR). Don't expect a decent story, but to their credit, they didn't design or market it as such. The solo campaign is 10 hours or so. Dasty I play this with my PS VR, and I can say with full confidence that this is one of the best games to play in VR. It really feels like you're sitting in the cockpit of an X-Wing. I HIGHLY recommend playing this in VR if you get the chance. Back on topic.... The on rails game sucks. GSF ain't much better imo. I don’t need to group to do most MM FPs because I solo them or do them with my wife. I just que'd for all three, unranked pvp, gsf & gf. The gsf button opened the hanger, where i clicked battle, while I que'd pvp & GF from the normal (group finder) button. GF popped first, before I clicked accept, it said I'd be removed from the wz que, as soon as the group formed. I declined, as I was just testing it. But the gsf stayed in the que. BenduKundalini Posted October 17, 2020 Share Posted October 17, 2020 I don't really like them (nor hate them either) but a space mission brings TONS of conquest points so I'm farming Jabiim escort/Fondor Escort every day. 17.5 K CQ with 6 fully opened strongholds and without guild perks. I'm not sure if it was a post, or podcast, but I think they've said that a few times. Or it's been quoted a few times. free flight would have been so much better, but with the engine limitations, it was never meant to be. Haven't tried the new game, will wait till it's on sale...lol. Only ever really buy games full price when I know I'll play them a lot...lol. They've said it, but it's patently untrue, as demonstrated by the existence of GSF. the real problem is their theory of commodification... people complained about the rails, and instead of reworking that portion, and AI logic, they went for PvP only because someone told them that's all players want and all that drives retention (neither being true) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Zuluvexx Posted August 9, 2022 Share Posted August 9, 2022 So I just played my first space mission and found it to be underwhelming. Why does the space combat feel like an arcade game? The ship controls were disappointing as well. I love Star Wars and I love this game but I wish the space portion of the game had the same magic the planet portion of the game has. I played Star Trek Online and the space combat was amazing. Please don't judge and don't worry I am a Star Wars fan through and through. I have an immense collection of all the novels, comics, short stories, RPG, Magazines, etc.. for Legends and Canon digitally to back it up. It would be nice if they got some love, or even updated to better reflect ship combat in GSF. I'd also like it if they got more bang for conquest points, a pinnacle or daily repeatable for doing x number. It's a small part of the game but not terrible. Guess I'm not meant to be a space jockey. Yeah that took me forever too. if you're near the big rock at the end, you have to swerve up and then down again to make it through the space between.
