Finally after a way-too-harsh nerf, they just might have something in the works that makes the slots a bit more useful instead of just novelty! You get the certificates from the cartel contraband slot machines. They aren't hard to find. Where do you think all those twilek dancers come from? Except now, unless they fixed it today, there no way to get them anymore, which means no more jawa scrap peddlers, twilek dancers, bartenders, or waitresses. Knowing them it's a work in progress or this went in early like a number of other things that went in too early last patch.. I‘d be pretty annoyed if they replaced my cartel market certificates with golden ones, unless there is a good conversion rate, seeing the difference in effort obtaining them. The Cartel Contraband Slot Machine gives Golden Certificates, not Cartel Certificates, which means there is now no way to get Cartel Certificates, which means there is no way to buy things from the cartel certificate vendor. They wouldn't just rip the cartel certificates out and replace them with golden certificates without explaining it. Also, I never got one cartel certificate from the slots, however I used to get tons of the cartel certificates from cartel packs though. I am pretty sure most people using cartel certificates were collecting them from packs, not running the slots seeing how dismal the drop rate was with the slots. It takes a long time, but the drop rate is pretty reliable. You just need to be patient and keep clicking. It takes about 2000 spins to get a cartel certificate (or golden certificate, now). Yellow posts have stated in the past that any changes not listed in the patch notes are actually bugs, but somehow all those 'bugs' are never fixed. The most recent example of EA making undocumented changes without explanation was how when they changed conquest in patch 5.8, they completely changed (and vastly increased the amount of) the mats required for War Supplies, Invasion Forces, and Dark Projects. That change was not documented in the patch notes, and has never been acknowledged or apologized for by any yellow post that I can recall. By Keith and Eric's own words, this should be considered a 'bug' to be fixed... and yet it remains, despite them continuing to nerf conquest with other patches. Historically, most patches from the studio include changes not covered directly in the patch notes. I'm sure there are a variety of reasons for this.... but the range of changes not specifically mentioned in patch notes cover the full range of things.. from trivial (to most players at least) all the way up to big-surprises. I could suggest that the studio is just trolling the players with this approach of "absence of notes" in the official patch notes... but I think it is more likely just that they do not have best practices and processes to collect, record, and publish ALL the changes they make. Bad project management begets bad communications. Whereas good project management begets good communications. The two go hand in hand in my career experience in the field of project management. The 3-Cs in Project Management best practices ---> Change Management, Communications Management, Cost Management. None of these are apparent with the Austin studio, from my perspective. If they exist in Austin ... they exist in an ad-hoc manner rather than in a process driven best practices manner. The Cartel Market Certificates are bring phased out, they are still available but in very old packs, very rare. That is why you are getting more Golden certs instead." Aeneas_Falco Posted May 14, 2018 Share Posted May 14, 2018 (edited) Assuming they are planning to convert the slot machine reward to Golden Certificates, and have the vendor selling the Bartender and Twi'leks take Golden Certificates as currency....(a good idea IMO, but only if the vendors are being converted as well) The Casino Event returns on May 22nd and lasts until June 30th. It may be worth stocking up on Golden Certificates from that, because the drop rate for GCs from the kingpin slot machines during the casino event is not bad at all. It is quite possible they won't alter the drop rate from Cartel Slot Machine deco, so that the Golden Certificates have the same drop rate as the Cartel Certificates they are replacing. That would be fine, except, The Cartel Certificate Decorations And Personnel vendor still only accepts Cartel Certificates. The Contraband slot machine started dropping Golden Certificates around two weeks ago. However, the vendors that only accept Cartel Certificates still only accept Cartel Certificates. It would be nice to know what the time frame is for fully phasing out Cartel Market Certificates as a currency. Hopefully announced ahead of time so that players with a stash of Cartel Certificates can use them. Rather than logging on one day to find out their stash suddenly became useless relics.
