Major_Mayhem
What is the point of having all the account security. I have security questions. I have a security key. I have my home phone number attached to my account. Yet some one called into customer service and duped a support rep into opening my account so some one could steel most of my cartel coins (about 5K) and stole all my crap. I hope they didn't order anything off of my account. Real good job EA. You really are the weakest link ... No really your the reason my account got hacked! JennyFlynn
So is this genuine or like one of those things where you're all "I'm gonna quit!" but now you don't want to so someone "hacked" your account and the hacker was the one who made the "I quit" post but really it was you and you just don't want to admit you changed your mind because you made all this noise about it and don't wanna look silly? Totally sucks though if you did get hacked dude, maybe after the holidays CS can help, not sure they're doing much work right now. Merrry Christmas! Major_Mayhem
Well it's a good thing then that you decided to quit this game a few days ago. Ya think that this may be part of the reason? I thought I lost my credits and gear in the server change (The name yes, but the credit and stuff no) I didn't realize what had happened until I notice I lost about 5K in cartel coins I've been saving as a subscriber since the introduced cartel coins. I'm canceling because support sucks ... obviously! Edited December 25, 2017 by Major_Mayhem Spelling and grammer.
JennyFlynn
Hey, how did they steal your Cartel Coins? They're not transferable, are they? Even if they logged into your account they can't just take your coins and send it to their own account, or are you saying CS took coins from your account and gave it to the hacker? Why would they do that?

Celise
only thing with something like that is call up bioware customer service team and sort it out, but considering the ranting you got going on and cartel coin information that is not my business to know about, you clearly have enough there to see if you can find out what happened and how to go about getting at looked into and refunded. at least let them try. I wouldn't suggest going right to the bank and yanking all those purchases, regardless if you are innocent, it would get you banned as game companies take a dim view on actions like that. however if you have finished with swtor for good and a ban means nothing to you anyway, then get the bank to get your money back. Major_Mayhem
I only play a few hours a month mostly for guild stuff and 2 of my Adult children play. I've been a loyal PAYING customer since early access. Again I have a complex password, My email and Phone numbers are attached to my account. I have 5 Security questions, and a FRACKING SECURITY KEY. Yet some talking ameba contacted customer support and got them to blow open my account and bypass all that security without so much as knowing what city I was born in. You know that's way to much BS to put up with from the likes of EA.
JattaGin
That CC list looks really nasty. I hope you get this sorted. Question: Your old password still works? And your original e-mail is still registered in your Swtor account? If yes, whoever did this, did a sloppy job. I would assume if someone plans a fraud like that, first thing they would do is change the e-mail and password to ensure you wouldn't be able to login. I also don't know how someone would be able to know your security questions and everything. In the other thread you called the person who did this a "******e". I don't know what this could mean. Do you suspect someone you know? An angry ex or a mean brother or so?

I'm just going to take a wild guess and say that this is your personal conclusion. I suppose you're lucky that they didn't go for the 14500 CC option and you should have a bunch of CM stuff in your inventory. I hope you don't have a beef with anybody in your family that has access to your passwords and such, but that's just my analytical brain thinking away so don't see that as an accusation. Mine does. Save for the bottom one, the monthly grant, this all happened today, not prior to you deciding to quit. The dates on the above list also mean the CM bought items should be in your bags or banks somewhere unless they were consumable items though looking at the CM prices, the purchases were a bunch of hypercrates and either mounts or the companion pack so it should all still be there, timer won't have expired yet. JattaGin
Another question: This CC list says it was all done on 25.12.2017. That's today. Due to the binder of CM items, it means that all those items must still be in your inventory right now and the CC couldn't be laundered yet. P. S. Jenny was a bit faster. Great minds think alike. Do you suspect someone you know? An angry ex or a mean brother or so? thing is, so many people carelessly put their whole lives on these social networking sites that it is a gold mine for 3rd party bots, and various people looking to collect informaiton and sell it to the dark web and all that can be used to get into accounts. so for example if there is a hacker that linked the account of the OP to a social trollworking page that is full of juicy details, those can be used against the victim. I also wouldn't be surprised if there are forums filled with specific information that contained passwords, pin numbers, security answers... the works. this is why i run programmes to counter any automated bots used in information gathering, why i don't use google, why i stay off social trollworking sites, why i read the piracy policies before agreeing to anything and keep all my details to myself as much as possible. you'd be surprised how easily it is to hijack a computer with one guy, a laptop with linux software and some hacking tools, within 10 minutes gaining remote access to the machine and locking the victim into a virtual setting and being able to read everything via keyloggers as the victim believes they are okay. all it would take for the hacker is a few seconds to decode that intercepted encrypted information and get the password to the email account and access it. This is from first hand observation watching someone doing their hacking business years ago. Edited December 25, 2017 by Celise

Why would they do that? It's really not possible to steal cartel coins. Only thing someone can do is buy stuff with then but pretty much everything on the Cartel Market has a 36-hour unbind timer. Its highly unlikely CS would move them to another account.

Major_Mayhem
They ordered about 250 bucks worth of cartel coins today. They managed to switch my payment information from paypal to my credit card. The funny thing is they never bothered to change my security questions or my password. They just changed the email and had Support remove my security key from the account. I have emails showings some one was trying to reset my password. My guess is they exploited an automated system or duped some one in support into giving some one a temp password. I have deleted both the card and paypall off of my account now and reported it to my credit card company who said no matter what I'm not liable for the fraudulent transactions. Unfortunately support for EA is closed today .. I guess Christmas is pretty good in India. About the IP ... it doesn't matter I'm technically dynamic and I have and I use 3 VPNs a work VPN (I'm an IT pro), a security VPN, and an anonymising VPN myself So my own IP may well be all over the place. It's a simple solution .... my Credit Card Company isn't going to pay. So that's that with the money. EA can reverse all the in game charges returning my account to 19166 Cartel Coins, They can also give me all my gear back and reset my character they way it was the LAST time I played (Sept I think). Than I can convert my Character to Free to play as soon as my current subscription runs out. Give out my goodies to my friends and guild ... build my guild back up (My kids run it) and go back to Aces High. Here is my entire history I can view .... 12/25/2017 Refund Transaction 1800 2566 12/25/2017 In Game Purchase -1800 766 12/25/2017 In Game Purchase -1800 2566 12/25/2017 In Game Purchase -1800 4366 12/25/2017 In Game Purchase -1800 6166 12/25/2017 In Game Purchase -1800 7966 12/25/2017 In Game Purchase -1800 9766 12/25/2017 In Game Purchase -7020 11566 12/25/2017 In Game Purchase -7020 18586 12/25/2017 In Game Purchase -7020 25606 12/25/2017 In Game Purchase -7020 32626 12/25/2017 In Game Purchase -7020 39646 12/25/2017 Purchase: 5500 Cartel Coins 5500 46666 12/25/2017 Purchase: 5500 Cartel Coins 5500 41166 12/25/2017 Purchase: 5500 Cartel Coins 5500 35666 12/25/2017 Purchase: 5500 Cartel Coins 5500 30166 12/25/2017 Purchase: 5500 Cartel Coins 5500 24666 12/07/2017 Subscriber Monthly Grant: 500 Cartel Coins 500 19166 11/30/2017 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 18666 11/07/2017 Subscriber Monthly Grant: 500 Cartel Coins 500 18566 10/31/2017 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 18066 10/08/2017 Subscriber Monthly Grant: 500 Cartel Coins 500 17966 10/01/2017 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 17466 09/08/2017 Subscriber Monthly Grant: 500 Cartel Coins 500 17366 09/01/2017 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 16866 08/09/2017 Subscriber Monthly Grant: 500 Cartel Coins 500 16766 08/02/2017 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 16266 07/10/2017 Subscriber Monthly Grant: 500 Cartel Coins 500 16166 07/03/2017 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 15666 06/10/2017 Subscriber Monthly Grant: 500 Cartel Coins 500 15566 06/03/2017 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 15066 05/11/2017 Subscriber Monthly Grant: 500 Cartel Coins 500 14966 05/04/2017 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 14466 04/11/2017 Subscriber Monthly Grant: 500 Cartel Coins 500 14366 04/04/2017 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 13866 03/12/2017 Subscriber Monthly Grant: 500 Cartel Coins 500 13766 03/05/2017 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 13266 02/10/2017 Subscriber Monthly Grant: 500 Cartel Coins 500 13166 02/03/2017 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 12666 01/11/2017 Subscriber Monthly Grant: 500 Cartel Coins 500 12566 01/04/2017 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 12066 12/11/2016 Subscriber Monthly Grant: 500 Cartel Coins 500 11966 12/05/2016 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 11466 11/05/2016 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 11366 10/06/2016 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 11266 09/23/2016 Subscriber Monthly Grant: 500 Cartel Coins 500 11166 09/06/2016 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 10666 08/24/2016 Subscriber Monthly Grant: 500 Cartel Coins 500 10566 08/23/2016 In Game Reward 500 10066 08/07/2016 Security Key Monthly Grant 100 9566 Edited December 25, 2017 by Major_Mayhem
