trek_addict
As it says on the tin. My Trooper is lvl 70, just did Chapter 12 and now I'm wondering if I should stop and grind the Alliance before going any further. Is there any point/benefit to it, story or otherwise or is it some sort of Engame content for non PvPers to do when you've finished whatever story there is at the moment? The only information my weak Google-fu could find is two years old and indicates that there isn't during the story. Has that changed? Pyosos
no need, excepted if you want to get achievment who give nothing in the star fortress but not really true, you will get lot of money, command pts a few, and at 20 you will get a crappy bike for each of them, excepted for the smuggler one
trek_addict
I see. So I'll do it afterwards then.
kodrac
If you mean the levels of the alliance specialist [Dr Oggorob (sp?) and company] then no. Getting them to 10 gets you special abilities you can use in star fortresses only and getting them to 20 lets you buy speeders. That's it.
trek_addict
This was what I expected, yes.
JattaGin
It's actually quite sad that the Alliance is yet another abandoned idea in the game.
Rheshalea
I like those speeders. Apart from that, my alts give the alliance specialists crates for CXP and comp gifts every now and then. There's nothing else to use those crates for, so might as well. But farming for it? Never did, never will.
bdatt
It's actually quite sad that the Alliance is yet another abandoned idea in the game. Abandoned idea? I doubt they had anything beside "we need to introduce a grind due to no end game content."
IoNonSoEVero
You do get the special tools in the veteran Star Fortresses if they're above 10, as mentioned. And if you level them up you do get letters/datapad notes that the state of the Alliance is improving and people are happier, etc., if that is important to you from a RP standpoint. And if you ask the specialists how things are going, the reports get better asn their influence gets higher. As mentioned, the underworld speeder from Hylo is really the interesting and cool one. I always level them up to 20 because I like bringing companions to max level. There have been a few good decos in the crates, and they always give companion gifts, some of which are high level. For that alone I'll level them up - I hate the heroics but I figure there's a chance to get something out of it.
Suzsi
There is alao a chapter in KoTET where I believe the bonus is auto completed for you if you have certain star fortresses in at least 2 person mode - so there is that. I think also during the battle for odessen a couple of things change a bit based on companions you have picked up from alliance alerts etc. I do think that chapter should have been harder for the player if your alliance was low but I guess they wanted to make sure everyone could get through it. I guess maybe it is a little tho, if you save Aric he snipes someone for you when you approace the base etc so thats a difference based on choice. orangenee
It makes Star Fortresses go from tedious to moderately tolerable as your bonuses go up at level 10 and the free gifts which help more.
