I'll gladly apologize to you than.

I am sorry you struck me as a casual monkey! Please accept my apology.

However... I still think story focus in an mmo is a bad idea if it will come at the cost of group content. :p

I'm far from perfect but I try to learn. When I struggled with my operative, I asked for advice on how to play more efficiently (that was I dunno 3 yrs ago) I love to learn to play better and make improvements. I had no trouble with the story mode mechanics on kotet except maybe the power relay 3 min timer thing as a bug kept teleporting me to death. Haha. I'll try veteran when the bonus on it lights up. I need to level companions to do so. I know/understand abilities and don't just button mash either ;) I thank dulfy for that. Very informative. :D will I delete characters over GC? NOPE. I just unsub when I'm done. I've done it 2 or 3 times. But I've only had 1 round of bad luck with GC crates. My JK has received set bonus gear and orange mod filled gear and she's level 11 or 12 and the same with my SI and she's level 4. I think the leveling for GC is ridiculously slow with passes being stupid as well. Too expensive. I feel badly fir those with 8 ear pieces etc. I really do. I don't mind the rng but it should be faster/or all levels should be one set value...not increasing in xp required.

click? You mean like click the abilities on the screen? Heck no. I've key bindings and a programmable mouse. Love my razer but don't use it to click abilities. That'd be way too slow. Who does that?

I use a mix... in my defence, my most used are all key bound and I play as much as my migraines will let me. I do story but also PvP and Flashpoints- world bosses when calls go out. For me, the biggest reason I don't raid is that much time solely focused on my screen and playing tends to lead to massive head pain.

I'm sorry you suffer with migraines. They suck badly :(

I don't do ops either but I only transferred from bastion to harb and on the bastion...aussie nights...it was real quiet. Sith tomb quiet :p and now people want the mechanics known. I don't know them so I pass. I'm cool with that though.

Have you tried any of those gamer glasses like gunner optics? You can even have them made with prescription lens if you wear glasses with a prescription lens. A friend of mine plays a lot of Dota 2 and he suffers from headaches but after he got a pair of those glasses he did nothing but praise them for reducing frequency of his headaches.

Also there is no need for a defence if you hybrid bind and click. That's not clicking. Clicking is not binding anything.

Too bad more of the player base isn't like you.. Lol asking for advice/seeking it out on your own to improve. I'm salty as **** as of late as I'm sure you could tell :p played about 50 wz since launch of kotet won 11 lol people can't call out grass/snow not can they pull over 500k dps in an 30 minute void star  maybe if everyone was like you and asked for help and or cared enough to learn on their own the games player base would be in a far better place but it's not...

I miss my guild lol and the 1.0 to 2.4 era of players.. the golden age :p

OP I feel your pain! Also I'd like to encourage everyone who post a negative reply to this person's thread to pack sand, if you you like this garbage you are part of the problem. Finally while it is somewhat sad to watch this thread I have to give the OP credit, this thread is more entertaining than 5.0 and in some twisted way more fun.

How are you determining which one gets sacrificed? Pulling random names out of a Murder Box? Not that *I* know anything about murder boxes or sacrificing Sims in any sort of Hunger Games-esque challenges. Nosiree. :rak_angelic:

Don't get me wrong, this is awful. But I was just curious.

Hunger Games came to my mind too LOL

No one cares. The greens are moddable like an orange. But just do us all a favor and hit delete on everything. No one cares about how many characters you've deleted or what they're names are.

you dont speak for me(where have we heard that before?) white knights dont speak for anyone but their twisted cult. Wait a min...didnt you criticize BW in a different thread????? HERETIC!!!!!!!!!

I agree. OP you are a great example of a player that sees this game for what it has become and we are all part of the problem. 12/12/16 Sub ends

The outcome is already determined. You're going to lose all your toons. :( The SB piece drop rate is about 5%.

Yes, in the long run, the minigame would end with 0 toons in my account. But there's one major mitigating factor that gives at least some of my toons hope: I only have 15 days of my sub left. As I have some 30 toons, with a bit of luck a few may survive.;)

Moreover, the toons seem to be fighting back. Ever since I started this minigame, my Internet connection went from OK to terrible and I can hardly participate in group content atm (only 1 GSF match played in the last 24 hours and it was a royal PITA with the lag spikes I'm getting:mad:).

That's a good question. When I started this minigame, I knew that I would have to part with toons that are meaningful to me, otherwise the game would not make sense. You know, "choices matter" -- but this time for real. So no, I do not draw blindly from a Murder Box, but I do not have an exact list of who comes after whom either. Simply the choice must hurt (and when it will not, it will be duly noted), but I am not gonna start with my main toons either: there must be some gradation, some sense of growing urgency, to make the minigame as interesting as possible. For instance I really wonder whether I will have to delete my very first toon and the founder of my legacy or whether I will end up losing the only toon that maxed influence with the alliance specialists... So I started somewhere in the middle of the pecking order and I am moving towards the centre.

Before I delete a toon, I go through some "acceptance process" and I "prepare" the character for what is to come. For instance I go to the fleet and hand out freebies (btw, you almost have to beg people to take free stuff these days!) or I put stacks of companion gifts on the GTN for 1 credit only (I hope some normal players manage to get hold of those, but that may be too naive of me, I know).

BTW, and I know this must sound really strage to some of you, I have been -- in a rather weird way -- enjoying the minigame so far. Openning a cxp crate never felt more thrilling.:o

Alas, crate no. 25 contained green gear only, thus activating rule #2: two sacrifices are required.

Sacrifice #3

Bal’dor, lvl 61 powertech, Jung Ma

My second BH and first powertech; I leveled him to tank for our guild that used to run several ops a week back then and was in need of some spare tanks. But as I was about to hit the lvl cap, BW pulled the rug from under Jung Ma and Bal’dor was left behind, forever in vain waiting for the server merge that was not to come. My first toon to have 2 cartel market sets to equip (Mandalorian Clansman’s and Shrewd Rascal’s). Also the first BH to run with Torian, rather than Mako.

Sacrifice #4

Werran, lvl 61 Vanguard, Jung Ma

Two weeks ago, this would be unthinkable, as Werran is one of my “original eight”, the 8 toons that built my legacy. He was the one who granted me all the trooper achievements and without him, I would not be a legendary player. As of the arrival of 5.0, the legendary player icon is no longer attached to my name. I’ve seen it on other players’ toons so it was either made optional (too good to be true) or it’s a bug (in which case you need to have all 8 toons that granted you the title on the same server and log into them – and no, I won’t bother doing that). There goes the first of the eight untouchables.

Special thanks to Tanno Vik for being a faithful companion to my DS trooper, and to <Deus Ex MachinA> for some nice commander runs that helped me to get a few cheevos finished.

Five stars. Never seen a thread like it.

If Bioware hadn't responded to the thread about new valor requirements on old PvP weapons, I had thought of doing a "roll call" of all of my 16 or so characters who had those weapons, and how they fit that character. But this is obviously more dramatic.

It's up to you, of course, but my recommendation would be to ideally do no more than one round a day. It would drag it out more effectively. But, I don't really know how that would fit in with how you're playing at the moment.

It's now optional and the default state is off. Nameplate flair can now be customized. There's a new dropdown on the dialog that you use to select titles.

It's like watching the rear guard make a futile last stand against insurmountable odds.

I have over 50 toons at this point, but I'm sure I wouldn't have the stomach for lighting the pyres one by one, even with the newer ones. I love all my toons. When I finally walk away for good, I'll just slip out of the party unnoticed, after having taken some surreptitious screenshots of each one.

Great thread, op.

I see that the game's powers that be couldn't stand a thread about somebody creating his own content with choices that matter and swept us under the rug. Oh well:D:D:D

Crate no. 26: a pet, a green earpiece inferior to the one I already have, and a green Makeb reputation trophy.

Incidentally, it was a garbage day in our neighborhood. No idea why that just crossed to my mind.

Crate no. 26 activated rule #2: two toons are to be sacrificed. Given the content of the crate, I find these two to be fitting candidates:

Sacrifice #5

Asheerah, lvl 31 sorceress, Jedi Covenant

Before the arrival of KotFE, I was more than content to play on just one server, where my whole legacy would be busy running ops and doing WZs day in day out. But then Jung Ma was hung up to dry, my home guild (the server’s second to achieve the Galaxy Conqueror title, if I’m not mistaken) moved to Shadowlands and, due to the mmo-content drought, pretty much died out in the next three months. Since moving forward (killing new bosses in new ops) was no longer possible in this game, I started moving laterally, from one server to another, and I had a blast. One of the few good things about KotFE was that gear was a non-issue. Thus one week you could do conquests with a couple of toons on server X, the next week you could, idk, hunt world bosses with another guild on server Y. You were again a hero in the galaxy (not the one-cut-fits-all hero we are stuck with now), you could move freely in the open worlds of the vanilla game, you could enjoy building new powerhouses on new servers.

Jedi Covenant was the last destination I was about to settle. I didn’t have much luck with the DvL crates there, nor was I happy with some of the toons I created on the server. As a result, Asheerah was the only toon left there when I started my minigame. She was an improved, better looking version of her namesake on Jung Ma that was deleted as Sacrifice #1 and she would have served well as the server’s main should I have stayed there, but I will not pretend that she was that important to me or that I spent that much time playing her.

Sacrifice #6

A “name holder”, lvl 26 assassin, Jung Ma

This toon was created on Shadowlands just before I moved my main there to make sure I can keep my nick. Then it served as a messenger and transferred to Jung Ma to do a little delivery job for 90CC. Enough said. If it were not for that one measly green Makeb reputation token, this insignificant toon would never have entered my minigame.

While the first 4 Sacrifices combined for 329 hours and 40 minutes of playtime, these last two add meager 14 hours to the total. I know I just performed the “trick at Mekone” and incurred the wrath of the RNG gods and that the next sacrifice will be costly:(.

The "Legendary" Icon is optional now. It's a drop down option on your character screen where you can choose your titles. Not that that will stop you, just throwing that out there.

As for your comment on how you select them, I would have gone with "Lottery" (AKA Murder Box) because you're playing the lottery with Galactic Command, PLUS it's like the short story called, "The Lottery" where once a year a name is drawn out of a box and everyone in the village stones the person to death.

I sound like such an awful person. Everyone else is all "Don't do it" "This is sad" and here I am going, "Give me the technicalities on how you choose your victims. Here's MY suggestion..."

I was wondering what you were doing with your stuff, so it's...nice (?) that the stuff isn't gone, poof, into the ether. You may be done with the game, but you probably made a bunch of new players' day (Well, whoever accepted those gifts, at the very least).

guess what. I'm a clicker. I'm also very vocal about how HORRIBLE this new system is, and how much it sucks that they lied about more ops. stop. making. shallow. assumptions.

oh and btw? this new system is AWFUL for a casual player. you know, the kind that doesn't have time for a part time job of a game.

to OP. damn. you don't play around.....

Dang, OP, you are at such a dark place. Is this really necessary?

Can't you do something else which gives you a positive feeling? You don't HAVE to play this game, you know. Plenty of other nice activities out there. :)

Define dark, will you? I mean, I get a piece with a blue lethal mod 50A (plus a useless alacrity enhancement) and I declare the next roll free of sacrifice??!! You call that dark? This was crate no. 28. Imagine you ran DP at the lvl and defeated a boss there 28 times ... and you're happy you got a blue mods drop with a Lethal Mod XA in it??!! Seriously???

*sigh* Dude, you're not really paying attention.

I strongly advise you to find out about "flairs". Check your character sheet, click on the titles tab on the upper left... and behold the optional "flair" dropdown which holds your "legendary" flair.

Sorry, friend, but instead of jumping to conclusions you should have read the patch notes.

Edit: Noted that others typed that as well... should have read on :-|
