  1. For an added bit of humor, Queen Jenna is also voiced by Jennifer Hale. You know...the woman who also voiced Satele Shan. ETA: The Female Human is also voiced by the same voice actress who voices the Female Jedi Knight. So you could have a situation in GW2 where the female Jedi Knight is watching her boyfriend flirt with his mother. -- I haven't posted on these forums in a couple years. Haven't played SWOTR in quite some time. It's nice to see this thread is still around
  2. I don't know why, but this particular thing you said made me think of Grand Moff Kilran and how cool he was as an NPC on the early game flashpoints. I still like running Black Talon/Esseles on my new Alts because of him. (I know he's in later ones, too, but I just made a new Alt so the first flashpoint just came to mind). It boils down to the fact that the story just isn't engaging. And worse yet, the story itself (the cut scenes and such) aren't repeatable. So as a player I felt really disconnected from the entire thing. It felt like it was a bad play performed by understudies rather than a smooth production that I'd want to see again. Edit: Probably because all the NPC's were doing the talking and doing the "cool stuff" instead of our PC. Our PC stood there dumbly for most of it.
  3. The new flashpoints don't have Jesus Droid. Worse still, for the story part, you're forced to have a specific companion who may not have a very high rank. My IA was fine with Temple because Temple was my companion to begin with so she was returning at Rank 10. My JK, if I could stomach the thought of running through the awful story again, never met Temple and will never use Temple beyond that flashpoint, so Temple is Rank 1 and it would be a waste to give her companion gifts for the one thing she's mandatory for the one time I would be forced to do it to progress any further in the story.
  4. And that's the problem. They're looking at JUST the stats from FE/ET and claiming, "Well nobody wants to repeat story." But they're just cherry picking their data and spinning it into the player's fault. How about they look at how many alts people are creating to play through the vanilla story then just deleting them to reroll another? I'll tell you why: because they don't want to admit that their new story kinda sucks and that not even the people who play this game primarily for story (like me) can't stomach the thought of playing even a THIRD character* through FE/ET because it's just not that good. I'd rather make another Agent. Or Jedi. And then pretend they all lived happily ever after in the nether world of deletion as I make room for another Jedi. Or Sith Warrior. Or Agent. They're purposely being blind, deaf, and dumb to all the facts, and the passive aggressive blaming of the players is also quite aggravating. I love how they're all like, "Well we WANTED to return the companions you all love in full chapters, but you guys all said that you didn't like that *fake long suffering sigh*" When in actuality we said, "Please stop shoehorning companions into your story in a ham fisted manner, it doesn't make sense." But, nope, it's ~our~ fault that we get crappy Alliance Alerts for the best companions *Edit: Come to think of it, I don't even have two characters completely caught up. My JK, who romanced Theron, hasn't finished the Copero flashpoint because of how asinine the story has become. I just couldn't bear to suffer through it yet again after I ran my Agent through. All my other Alts are littered through Fallen Empire, most of whom are at the "Go get sucky Kaliyo" chapter (so they just finished Chapter 9 and didn't go further).
  5. There's another thing I noticed about our "new and improved companions." I decided to do one of those "on rails" space missions for the shiggles. And my IA was the only one talking on the comms because, you guessed it, none of the companions are on the ships anymore so none of their comm chatter was available. I don't get why THAT needed to change. If I have the flag that says I have XYZ companion then they should be talking on the comms. It was just...eerie...listening to my agent talk to herself, asking "Did you see that?" and "Is everyone okay?" It feels like this game is falling apart at the seams. NPC's with messed up zombie eyes, NPC quest givers whose mouths move but their lips don't (THAT was horrifying especially since she also had zombie eyes to boot), Karrels Jarvis (IA NPC on Hutta) eating his mustache whenever he talked, and watching characters glitch snap into their place during cut scenes. It's depressing. But, hey, gotta fix conquest and all (Conquest that THEY BROKE to begin with.)
  6. Meanwhile, Master Ranos and Shae say their comabt barks over and over and over, the same three lines before and after every kill. It's so annoying that I don't use them anymore. At the very least, when it was Treek, she babbled away in non Basic, so it just became white noise. There seems to be no middle ground for Bioware
  7. (This isn't at you, Porsa, just using your transcription). THEY DON'T GET IT. They're still doing the "the way it's intended to be played" not realizing that "the way it's intended to be played" is supposed to be exactly what the PLAYERS want to do, not what THEY think players should do. If the players want to craft, fine. If they want to do Heroics, fine. They're dictating how we should play the game instead of letting the players decide for themselves how THEY want to play the game. They are taking player agency away and that NEVER goes well. I don't even friggin' conquest on a regular basis, but now this drives me away completely.
  8. Here's hoping that Rishi isn't some gigantic, out of place looking stronghold. Is it too much to ask for something of a smaller scale? Like Kaliyo's apartment? Even the DK and Coruscant SH's are too large. I just want a small, cozy place for a few nice, appropriate decos. They could even exclude them from the Conquest bonus list! I would actually pay CC for a 2-3 room apartment on Fleet or something!
  9. The storytelling delivery, you quoted "Like Shadow of Revan/Preludes." Can I get a clarification? Is it going to be like "Shadow of Revan?" Or like the "Shadow of Revan Preludes" (the flashpoint series name escapes me ATM, something something Alliances)? There's...kind of a difference there. Shadow of Revan had a full story with Flashpoints leading up to AND they were included in the story. Or is it all going to be flashpoints forever and those flashpoints are the only way the story's going to be told going forward?
  10. I think the thing I hate the most about the "gimmicky" activities is that it messes up my toolbars. I don't use the "Main" toolbar (call it OCD, but the fact that it's bigger and has the up down arrows irritates me). But all the gimmicks use the main bar. But then you can't add the skills needed and...it's just a mess. The Walker chapter I died a few times because I had to have my powers window open and scrolling through ALL the powers to find the walker ones...ugh. I wish they would make those skills on the new "activate" hotbars that pop up for special things; the ones that are along side the Heroic Moment special toolbar.
  11. My original point being: Vector did return but his thread isn't nearly as active on a daily basis, however we talked about him and his return for the first week after his release.
  12. Aaaaand where did I say anything about classy? Every time I go into those threads the most recent posts are, "Mmmm <fill in the blank>" and, "IKR? /5char" which just seems like a cheap trick to keep certain threads up at the top. So I go away from those threads and don't go back for a while. Rinse and repeat. Of course I'm generalizing and using hyperbole. But instead of getting offended you COULD just own up to your fangirlishness and be like, "Whateves, I love my woobie and I'll do what I want." I didn't say there was anything WRONG with it. No need to get defensive. (You should also note that I used the " " emoticon, which is kinda universal for "I'm teasing.") With that said, I'd far rather all the love threads be at the top rather than YET ANOTHER pissing and moaning thread about Conquest, PvP changes, and "Is the game dying? A friend of a friend of a brother's uncle thinks it is and I agree!"
  13. As someone who regularly posts on the "Lovebug" thread I can say that you're also wrong about that. We discussed for almost a week about Vector and his return. Vector's thread just isn't filled with random "Mmm Vector, nothing else to say" posts that plague the other "Love" threads, so his thread falls to Page 2, 3 and beyond because of it. It seems we're more about quality posts rather than quantity posts As for Dulfy not posting about it, that's on them. It's been almost three weeks since his return and they STILL haven't added his video? It's very misleading and it makes people think he hasn't been returned, which is bad and, again, very misleading. (SWTOR on Facebook has also been doing this. Going on about Ashara and ignoring Vector's return even though he's in the SAME FREAKIN' PICTURE as her.)
  14. I stand corrected, but it doesn't explain Temple's response on "Traitor among the Chiss" then which she says "I have my people looking for him."
  15. Vector came back the same time as Ashara. They just didn't make as big of a deal out of it because Bioware forgets that girls play this game too.
  16. Yes because his lackluster "story" apparently takes place after the events of KotET. Probably have to finish Iokath, Umbara, and Traitor Among the Chiss as well (particularly the last one, as Temple makes mention of Vector still missing). All to feed the metrics to show that people just LOVE the story they just can't get enough of it! (I'm just glad, in Vector's case, that my main character is an Agent so she was already all caught up.)
  17. That is EXACTLY how my husband looked at his DS Inquisitor's relationship with Ashara. A very condescending mental pat on the head, ala "Married With Children" equating her with Kelly Bundy and calling her "Pumpkin." Not that I ever intend on pushing my Nox through the rest of KotFE, let alone KotET (When a story player like me can't stomach the thought of playing through your story heavy expansion that should give you pause but, alas, that's a different subject all together). But if I were going to, I wouldn't go DS on her (And he's D5). No, no. I'd be all like, "Oh, Ashara, I'm happy you're here!" "Oh, honey snookums, I'm happy to be back! So we're back together my love?" "NOPE! LOLOLOLOLOL!! I got together with a REAL Sith and now you have to suffer knowing you compromised your precious morals while I suck on Lana's* face over here. See you on Odessen!" And then he'd put on a pair of sunglasses, snap his fingers at her, and ride off into the sunset like a boss. If I can't have glorious murder then I'll settle for severe psychological damage *(Not a big, huge fan of Lana, so he's the only one who romanced her. But I'll take Lana over Ashara any day.)
  18. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh man, that's some top notch comedy right there. *wipes away a tear*
  19. Check the cantina and the Imp/Pub dome things outside the base instance. I know Pierce is in the Imp hub area. I know you didn't mention Pierce by name, but I figured if Pierce shows up outside the instance the others might be around as well.
  20. That sounds about right (sorry I wasn't sure, as I said, my agent is all caught up). You DO have to do the "To Find a Findsman" Alert though before you can do any other Alliance Alert. And you might want to just do everything, including Iokath, Umbara, Traitor Among the Chiss as well (particularly the Chiss flashpoint because Temple does mention Vector still being missing). Don't get your hopes up about Vector's reunion though. It's IS lovely, don't get me wrong. And it IS a voiced Alliance Alert (as opposed to all the other ones where your character doesn't talk) but it's short. And his dossier doesn't get updated. And you don't get a letter from him like all the other love interests send after they join your Alliance. And because he was literally just returned to us last week, he's obviously not part of the ongoing story. Hell, unless Bioware does a major shift in their story telling, he never will be. He's been "bricked" as we've been saying about companions that not everybody has ("they just sit there silently, like a brick"). They did not do him justice and it's not the swan song he deserves. They completely wasted his character Of course we can always HOPE he'll be relevant to the story later, but it's pretty doubtful. The story is all about Lana and how awesome she is and CLEARLY there's something wrong with us for not adoring her and only her NOT that I'm bitter or anything... ETA: Alliance Alerts are the...blinking triangle I think? Or if you hit "N" it will bring up your entire companion roster and the Alerts will be on the top. If you haven't done any of them, then only Doctor Oggurobb's alert will be there to go find Yuun (Trooper companion). After you recruit Yuun to your Alliance a WHOLE bunch more will appear for you to do or not do as you so choose. Vector's will be called "Vector's Vector" (I'm completely serious) that Aygo will want you to do. As for the flashpoints, just keep following the story, they will come up after Knights of the Eternal Throne and Iokath. (ETA Again: You don't have to do all the Alliance Alerts, by the way. If you can tolerate the light blinking of the triangle you can just ignore everyone you don't want. Companions aren't really that special anymore. My Agent has upwards towards 50 of them -she did all the alerts because she's my main- NONE of the Alliance Alert companions matter to the story. So don't feel obligated to do every single one if you don't want to. If you're a crafter you only need 9: 1 to do missions with, 8 to work in your crafting sweatshop.) TL;DR: Just keep going. When there are no more "Talk to our Bae Lana" missions, then check your Alliance Alerts and you'll be able to get Vector back. Inferior Vector because his mouth no longer moves when you click on him nor does he say any of his ambient lines when you travel to old planets. But still Vector.
  21. I know how Vector would have reacted. He would have been fine had I chosen the Republic (8 agents played. I'm pretty positive I know Vector better than any other companion). *I* know, but the writers for this game barely know how our characters work (look at the whole Ashara fiasco. Not a fan of killing companions, but a D5 Inquisitor would NEVER allow her to just walk away after claiming she was just as powerful as the Inquisitor). It comes down to the writers not doing right by our characters OR the vanilla companions. There is no trust there, not from me anyway. So I toed the faction line to be on the safe side instead of organically making choices my character would have made. The Iokath choice kind of broke immersion for me because of my lack of trust in the writing team. As I said the Iokath choice isn't a deal breaker for me. I just hope a different and better opportunity presents itself that's a bit more elegant than Iokath, which was a complete dumpster fire.
  22. The ONLY reason why my Agent sided with the Empire is because I, as the player, didn't trust Bioware enough and thought that they would completely disregard Vector's general light sided attitude and just go, "Imperial companions for Imperial players, we don't care about their characterizations." I thought this because Charles, way back when Iokath was announced, mentioned that someone like Felix Irreso would be upset if you joined the Empire. But now that Vector pretty much gave the Empire the bird and declared himself and the remaining Killiks for the Commander only (thus a neutral faction), I feel gypped and really, REALLY wish that I had chosen the Republic now that I know that Vector wouldn't actually care (or matter in the story as a whole seeing as he's only available for the Agents). Part of me hopes/wishes that Vector returning only for Agents and 6.0 moving back to Imp vs. Pub allows for Agents to choose the opposing faction, if they wished to, without losing their vanilla love interest. So I have this vague wish that there will be another option. I mean, I can live with the Empire, I suppose. If my agent were a real person she'd figure, "Better an enemy I know." She knows where she stands in the Empire, whereas with the Republic she would never, ever be trusted no matter how many light sided points she had. It's not a deal breaker for me, I just wish/hope they provide an elegant solution other than just relying on the Iokath choice.
  23. I don't want Iokath to be the qualifier because my characters tried to remain neutral throughout and gave/sided with both. How were THEY supposed to know that Jace and Acina were going to be the ones holding the Idiot Ball on Iokath, thus getting them killed? My agent sided with the Empire THAT ONE TIME. (And had I known what the Empire did to Vector and the Killks I wouldn't have chosen them, wanting to see if things turned out differently from my JK's play through be dammed.) Honestly, I think the other person should also die to level the playing field. And then, going forward, the plot will present ANOTHER Iokath type situation and THAT one will determine which side you're on now. That would be awesome, so Bioware won't do it. But seriously, why can't they implement a "Betrayal Quest" of sorts, thus allowing our characters to switch to that faction? Nobody knew that Iokath would turn out the way it did and it would be unfair of Bioware to be like, "Hey, remember that choice we forced you into well over a year ago? Well we just pulled a new story out of our rear ends and that arbitrary choice is the sticking point. Doesn't matter that we railroaded you into the Red or Blue choice, or that you've helped both sides up to that point, now you have to suffer the consequences. Because Choices Matter™ even though WE wren't sure where we were going with the story!" That would be much more palatable.
  24. And their respective love interests are kind of, "...okay." Not getting into the fact that Nine probably plays the Sims. Has nice little happy families. Unless some Sim pisses her off because they peed their pants even though she told them HUNDRED TIMES to go to the bathroom, then it's OFF TO THE MURDER BOX WITH THEM!!!! *cough* Okay so maybe my Nine MIGHT be a self-insert on occasion *shifty eyes* But Nine might get a little enthusiastic about her Sims and may or may not have gone into great detail to Vector and Theron about how, "OMG, blonde hair cropped up six generations later! I can't believe how detailed the recessive genetics are in this game! I mean...uh... "
