Notice "Armor set", yea at first glance I assume we would pop an actually armor set out of the crate which in fairness I would like but no everything is split into Upper/Lower/Supplementary.....This is a great way to show 5yr's worth of subbing with a nice copy/paste job modeling a Diablo 3 like season element which works in a grindy ARPG. Maybe I've just lost it lol

 

This game's Cartel Infestation has started to feel like this game has become an online version of the SIMS. Where every New Cartel pack Collection is like just another trashy miniexpansion. Except here it is much worse as you do not even get to choose what you pay for.

 

There litterally should be laws against what is happening in this game to protect people prone to addictions from themselves and from the corporate greed.

 

I forese that they'll continue pushing the borders of what is acceptable untill the figurative bubble bursts. When that time comes I sure do hope the right heads will roll and get their due. (Again figuratively people! I'm not 'that' morbid. )

At this point maybe we should just all unsub for a week in protest, I'm sure BW would have no choice then to respond if 500+ subs just cut their subscription. Those who are unwilling to unsub out of principle shouldn't buy a single cartel market item this week, and for the F2P user base I would just not log on. BW needs to see an opposition to this "event" which let's be real here it's the ultimate FU to us fans who kept playing, paying & defending it.

 

If they wanted to give back to the player base, maybe all the awards should be retroactive to your current legacy, then if you decide to fill in the blanks to finish off the champion/eternal/legendary requirements it would be your choice, on any toon rather feeling forced to start fresh after 5yrs of dedication. Seriously we should all be on the same page and realize we have that power. I'm tired of HK themed items which require next to nothing in development, less than 2h of story content a month, unnecessary nerfs to classes, and now a community event which forces you to start fresh for more meaningless awards stripped from the CM, oh and 2 more companions without any personality, story, or reason to be in the game.

 

Fight back, fight with your wallet, fight for common sense and don't let an EA property get away with this. I love how BW teased this idea of the rewards we could expect from these so called DvL boxes such as:

Tulak Hord’s Armor Set

Satele Shan’s Armor Set

Revan Reborn’s Armor Set

Black/Black and White/White Dye

MSM J-37 Jetpack

Volatile Conqueror’s Lightsaber

Cathar Honor Sword

Unstable Arbiter’s Lightsaber

Two new Weapon Tunings, Dark-attuned and Light-attuned

And more!

You have not lost it. Pretty darn accurate. This event could have been so much better if the rewards were better thought out. Bound, are you freaking kidding me? So I got to play new characters and then I have to use Cartel Coins to use the rewards on my Main Characters that I have had for 5 years. It's not enough that I pay more than $150 per year for a game with no new ops, limited interaction with characters (yes I do LOVE the chapters, but after those, everything is dead) and constantly being "forced" to invest more money into the game. I have already paid more money to this game than 7 years of Warcraft, and everything was open and shareable there. Pets, mounts, there for of heirloom legacy gear (that works much better than this crappy Legacy set we are getting) and you can use the items cross servers... Bioware is so far behind the evolution of MMO, they need to appreciate people playing may alts, cause they are the ones that keep this game alive.

Rewards from DvL are a scam, which makes the entire "event" a scam. While playing a commando, at level 25 I got (among other stuff) Unstable Arbiter Dual Saber and Reaver Upper Armor. Nice rare stuff, I should be happy, right? NO, because they are BOP!

They say to prevent selling the rewards. Why not make them BOL then? Because the real purpose is not to prevent sale.

The Unstable Arbiter Dual Saber does unlock in collections, true, but it costs 400CC to get a copy on another toon, which is the real purpose of this. The use if this item is very limited anyway, only Shadow / Assassin. I cant even parade the weapon around, unless I make an assassin just for this purpose. Therefore: useless nice looking expensive item.

 

The Reaver armors from the pack (chest and gloves) do not even unlock in collection (it shows 0/7). Use them on commando? NO. Again useless nice looking expensive item.

 

Why am I paying subscription?

You run an unscrupulous Marketing Team. Not a Development Team.

 

You do not deserve what fans you have left. And you definitely do not deserve to have your hands on the Star Wars IP anymore.

I hope sooner rather than later Disney will come to this realisation and take the necessary measures.

Because the day they condone this kind of business-doing, is a Sad day for Star Wars Fans everywhere.

This is the worst event this game has seen. Even the dumb Casino sink was better....

Do everything over again. Nope. Just nope. I already completed all characters story, many of them multiple times. I won't do that again.

The casino event was miles better. Because it was something different to do and some thought had been put into it.

 

I feel some of the hate towards this event is just bluster. But much is not.

 

I don't have a problem with the"reroll 8 characters to 50" thing. Or most of the other achievements. It's a long list but certainly doable by anyone who wants to.

 

And yes this is putting some life into the starter planets. I was running on Tython yesterday with 140 other players. Which is neat.

 

And - as far as the rehashing of content - If this were really hyped as a "5 year anniversary throwback" and it was all the launch stuff it'd make some sense.

 

But........................................................

 

It's not. It's not launch stuff, it's everything. The "Throwback" idea actually made sense to me until I realized they were just making it everything. Now that makes no sense to me. The idea that I have to go max light/max dark makes exactly zero sense to me. Who put that in? It's not the time sink that bothers me, it's just.... that it's utterly stupid. It's like they sat around a table trying to think of timesinks rather than a cohesive stream of thematic activities..

 

But my biggest gripe is one that I mentioned above as a positive.

 

Yeah it was neat running on Tython with 150 people or so. Sadly that's not what this game needs though.

 

So many misguided people thinking that those 150 people in Tython in some way is helping this game. It is not. Actually it is probably hurting the game more than it is helping.

 

So yeah. Casino? Much better event than this. This event has too many aspects of it that needed to be thought through, and as such was probably too ambitious for this team.

 

Casino event was just sinful unclean unwholesome fun. This is a **** show.

Achievements have been added for attaining Level 65 and max level Crew Skills. These Achievements will not be granted retroactively until Game Update 4.7.

Really? You literally bought tokens at one end of the casino, walked over to the slot machines, and clicked on them till you ran out of tokens. It wasn't even as fun as playing real slots. It was a blatant credit/time sink.

Here's the REAL Deal about the LvD Event ;

 

Participation in the Event requires you to have at least a few free character slots.

Effectively forcing most would-be participants to buy more Character Slots (Or Delete Characters).

 

(1x) Character Slot: 600 CC (450 CC this week).

 

Alternatively you can complete the objectives on another Server...

Most of the rewards are BoP (Bind on Pickup), which means they'd be stuck there... unless you Pay Up for the Collections Unlock. For the BoL Set you would even be required to use an expansive Character Transfer and would need to have at least one Free Character Slot on the Server of your Prefference.

 

(1x) Server Transfer: 1000 - 1500 CC.

The items from the packs are BOP.

In combination with the participation forcing you to use *New Characters*. Being BoP means that more often than not, the items you get will be useless on said New Characters. Again necesitating you to spend CC in collections for Accountwide unlocks. Since we're talking Gold items here, that is a minimum of 400CC per Unlock.

 

(1x) Collections Accountwide Unlock: 400 CC.

 

LvD Packs do not drop Full Armor Sets.

The LvD pack reward is granted each time on theToon (Toon is another word for Character) on which the Tier objectives are met. You will be hardpressed ensuring that all your LvD pack reqrds end up on one and the same Toon.

Instead of dropping full armor sets, the packs drop Upper, Lower & Supplementary Boxes. The BoP status makes it so that you require all of these on a single Toon to even stand a chance of unlocking it Collections.

 

EG: If you were lucky enough to get Revan Reborn's Upper and Lower setbox on one Toon and the Supplementary on another; This will NOT unlock the set in Collections for you.

 

Even if you manage to get all the LvD rewards sorted on only the single 1 New character, it is quite likely you will end up with quite a few incomplete sets. Deleting the character will waste the potential of those parts ever completing a Set as they will be Lost.

 

Now comes the last(?) suprise; Which was Datamined out of the last update;

 

You weren't able to complete your Expensive Armor Set? No Problem! Out of sheer goodwill and for a limited time only, Bioware will be putting the LvD Packs on the Cartel Market as if they were just another Shipment! Complete with Hypercrates and all!

 

(1x) LvD Cartel Pack Edition: Pricing Unknown.

(1x) LvD Cartel Supercrate: Pricing Unknown.

(1x) LvD Cartel Hypercrate: Pricing Unknown.

 

This never really was an Event to begin with people..., It's nothing but an Elaborate Cash Grab

The few "New" items merely serve as extra Bait.

Those are in a different category. I checked. I remember asking why these were not added with 4.0 and 4.1, and it has taken them 10 and 5 months to add them. Really these should have been added almost a year ago. They are the normal ones that are already in game, making them retroactive in 4.7 will in no way effect the LvD achievements. Though with bugs who knows, it could screw up and add the HK-55 back in and remove all your current progress on the LvD event achievements and you have to restart will less time.

Not to mention.. better rewards, in my opinion.

 

People need to stop pretending events are somehow mandatory, much less custom tuned to one's personal preferences. Personally, I tend to not play events much (and I don't complain about them just because I personally don't find them appealing) .. but I will play this one. I recognize that some players like events that I personally do not like.
