Ksilvante Posted May 3, 2016 Share Posted May 3, 2016 What worked for me was : 1. Open Launcher, sign in, etc etc. 2. Once it gives you "error 308", then : 1. Click the X to terminate program, then click "yes, you really want to exit". 2. Then CTRL+ALT+DELETE, select "Task Manager", go to the "Processes" tab, find "launcher32.exe" (which for me always had 15'ish percent processor utilization and 40 - 50k of memory usage). Kill that process. 3. Wait about a minute to be sure that your comp has flushed the process. 4. Restart launcher, sign in, etc. 5. It should start patching now, but will stop at 99 percent of the asset installation, and eventually give "error 308". 6. Repeat steps 2 - 4. I think i did it 6 times (as in, there are 6 asset files). Then launch lit up, and i can play. Once the game had launched i multitasked out and found that it had given me a silly error, just click "ok" (it didn't affect the ability to play). That worked without a hitch for me at least.. I have done that a total of 38 times and counting thus far and nadda. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Edit to add: I was able to finally finish patching and launch the game by brute-forcing patch attempts as some have reported on this thread. I posted the patch logs after 3 tries IIRC, and finally succeeded on my 8th or 9th. However it is still in Bioware's interest to resolve these issues as having to effectively DDOS the patch service to get the patch probably is not a good thing. The ST version loaded the patch The other version...is still waiting I agree with that , my past posts I have been talking about having the little whit st in the lower left of the launcher. 42% complete on the second part of the patch. One to say "send us your launcher logs" and another to say "thanks for the logs, we're looking into it". For whatever it's worth... I just settled for Bitraider for now and disable it after patching is done. Beats waiting for Bioware to perhaps fix this and then download it. oh, they know what the problem is.. someone at their programming department screwed up big time.. and points the patch location to localhost. Its not a client side issue, its nothing you have done wrong, its all on Bioware. Some sort of compensation would be appreciated, I'm a subscriber and I have lost 5 hrs of game time with this. shadowwhisp Posted May 3, 2016 Share Posted May 3, 2016 I uninstalled and reinstalled it seems to be ok now, but that seems a bit drastic of a fix. curious. did you reinstall from the cd's or the website cause i have the disc from launch that thought about reinstalling the game but like you said thats drastic and i shouldnt have to reinstall the game due to a patch issue. however i was really wondering if its easier in general to install the game from the disc and then patch or just install from the website. im looking to get a new desktop by the end of the year and was wondering how i should install the game on it, if im still playing that is. any suggestions from the people who like me have nothing else better to do right now than being on the forums in a thread that to the devs is dead apparently since its "on our end"?
