Same problem for me - tried twice, I'll wait for a fix.

 

I hope us 'subscribers' will get some sort of compensation for missing out on 'early' access? That is a perk, right?

 

a perk that i'm yet to see actually get rolled out in a way where the majority of subs actually get to access it...

74 pages....74 and ONE message from the dev/community team. Looks like I will be reading or catching up on missed shows tonight instead of enjoying the new chapter....

one last item I forgot, I should not have to be a technician on my own computer to download this patch. I have never had to in the past and I an not going to try quick fixes that work for some and not all. to the best of my knowledge before the patch the game worked for all.

We subscribers are the only ones who have access to the new content, so still unsure what the big draw is in the advertising.

 

Yeah, got all excited when I saw the launcher finally start updating. But it's back to getting only so far and then error 308. This is really ridiculous.

yeah and i know that some people were also able to switch over to using bitraider and get it working, but those of us that want nothing to do with that garbage bitraider are left waiting and hoping for that lucky connection where it doesn't throw us into a loopback error and not even actually update and hope that we get directed to an update server that was actually configured correctly...

 

Yeah I had bitraider turned off, turned it back on to see if it would help, ended up just screwing up everything, so I decided to blow it all away.

2 responce last one was about 2 hours ago, apparently it hard to fix the 1 line that is cause the patcher to trying pull the patch from our own computers..

This is probably the straw that breaks the camels back for me. I'm sorry if I sound irrational, but at this point I know it's not me, it's you. We had some good times but I'll be moving on after this month and cancelling my sub. You'll always be my first, SWTOR and maybe one day you'll convince me to come back.

 

How fitting though, my story started with Vette and now it will end with her as well.

Tree of saviors should be going live soon, if you love sprite games and old korean grinds you might like it, I give it it try cause it the closest to Ragnarok online look

Actually there were two whole dev/community team posts this whole thread. One to say "send us your launcher logs" and another to say "thanks for the logs, we're looking into it". For whatever it's worth...

 

I just settled for Bitraider for now and disable it after patching is done. Beats waiting for Bioware to perhaps fix this and then download it.

What worked for me was :

 

1. Open Launcher, sign in, etc etc.

2. Once it gives you "error 308", then :

1. Click the X to terminate program, then click "yes, you really want to exit".

2. Then CTRL+ALT+DELETE, select "Task Manager", go to the "Processes" tab, find "launcher32.exe" (which for me always had 15'ish percent processor utilization and 40 - 50k of memory usage). Kill that process.

3. Wait about a minute to be sure that your comp has flushed the process.

4. Restart launcher, sign in, etc.

5. It should start patching now, but will stop at 99 percent of the asset installation, and eventually give "error 308".

6. Repeat steps 2 - 4.

 

I think i did it 6 times (as in, there are 6 asset files). Then launch lit up, and i can play. Once the game had launched i multitasked out and found that it had given me a silly error, just click "ok" (it didn't affect the ability to play).

 

That worked without a hitch for me at least..
