GSF Crashing?

That's odd. They didn't patch anything on Tuesday, so there's no way that could be the cause. What version of Windows are you running and has it installed any updates recently? Do you get a specific error message? Do other things in the game cause it, or just GSF? This is likely going to be driver related, but I can't say for sure without knowing more.

This just happened to me and I had no problem with GSF on this PC for the past couple days.

Got the pop, hit play, crash.

EDIT: Started another match, crashed on the loading screen this time. No problem on my home PC, so I don't know what's happening.

Most likely, your video drivers have updated. Roll them back or update them from the manufacturer's website directly.

Have no problem with any other part of the game. Going to reinstall on Monday when I have the university's good internet.

My tablet uses intel graphics drivers (has no dedicated GPU it's a Windows Surface pro 3. The good one with the i7 processor, not the crappy consumer ones). Never had this problem before.

You know what? If you want to waste time and bandwidth with reinstalling as your first troubleshooting step, more power to you. I don't know why I even bother offering free advice anymore.

The game has a repair tool. You should try that first. Since you obviously know so much about how to fix this sort of thing, I'm sure you can find out how to run it yourself.

  • 1 month later...
This happens on my i5 Surface Pro 3, noticed it back in December or January.

I fixed it by reverting back with the rollback button to the September Install of the GFX Drivers. However, Microsoft updated them back, and then wouldn't let me roll them back this time.

This version from September 1st should probably work. I'm testing it now:

EDIT: Fixed problem for me.

Found this while trying to help someone else with the same problem. Guess that reinstall totally did the trick, huh?

I recommed switching from bitraider streaming launcher to the "normal" launcher, if you didn't do that already. You will have to redownload the entire game but in my experience this fixes a lot of crash bugs. I remember some months ago, when only people with disabled bitraider launcher were able to log in and the fleet was almost empty during prime time.

Here's how to:
