  1. /who denon mesas shipyards I've typed that one enough times in my day.
  2. No need to come in here and Reiyn on the parade here pal, Sounds like a great idea. Any way to utilize excess fleet requisition or transfer it back into the rest of the game in some fashion gets a big thumbs up from me.
  3. I like it! Well done! If you want to see some examples of GSF co-ordination, check out some of the videos HERE
  4. I haven't heard an idea as poorly thought out as this in a long time. A long time.
  5. I am loving that GSF is getting a little bit of attention these days, makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside! I know it is a tough game mode to get versed in, but you guys really have a highly competitive and surprisingly balanced gem here. Every time you guys make mention of it, participation goes up, and the eyes of the entire community light up. Thanks!
  6. There does appear to be some sort of "sweet spot" for which speed makes the tightest turns. Too fast and youre going too far forwards, too slow and you aren't moving fast enough to take advantage of the turn rate. I make my tightest turns (which few, including many aces are able to replicate) by tapping x and moving back and forth across the sweet spot, while also incorporating a strafe to keep my nose where I want it to be. My guess is that F4's default speed is closer to that sweet spot than F2 or F1, which are a little bit slower, and F3, which is too fast.
  7. Did you two not read Verain's post at all? There is simply no way to implement it correctly. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them, but all I'm seeing is a bunch of head-in-the-dirt naysaying in the face of a well reasoned and thoroughly thought out post by someone with a vast amount of experience in this area. Joystick/Controller support may get a couple people interested at the start, but they would find it to be a bad time and would litter these forums with a whole new slew of complaints levied against the M+K users. Its zero-sum folks.
  8. Gsf is an excellent and timeless game mode and, despite the accusations of it being a dying part of SWTOR, it still surprises me that the vibrant, positive, and active community in GSF has continued to keep the game interesting and compelling for new and old players alike. Threads such as these are such a positive and encouraging thing for this community, and I would like to thank the dev's for reaching out. To the newer players out there, there are so many community resources out there to help you get started on the right track, such as Despon's GSF School, The GSF Discord Server, A A Dedicated GSF Guild as well as the Galactic Starfighter Forum. See you in the skies!
  9. What you're implying here is that you AREN'T looking for good fights, and instead want your side to squash. One of the hardest things to find in GSF is good opposition, and I think people like you have become a little too spoiled by it.
  10. There are scores of players sitting around on this forum, the GSF discord, as well as most servers' /gsf chat who are just itching for a chance to take on some stacked competition. Next time you see these folks be sure to let someone know who can stop by and even the odds a little bit.
  11. I have been having this issue for over a week now and at this juncture I am totally unable to log into a toon no matter what I do. This is highly problematic for me because I am the guildmaster of a fairly large, cross-server guild. I am glad they are investigating this, but is there a timeframe here? I am a paying subscriber and literally am 100% locked out of the game at this time and have taken all steps available to me to try to remedy the issue. Appreciate the work being done, please don't let this one fall by the wayside or I see no other option than to move on, leaving a lot of good friends behind.
  12. Ah, now I see where his 95% win percentage over 1000 games comes from
  13. Our guild is quite mobile and tends to hop servers a lot. We have toons on harbinger but lately we have been more focused on JC as there is another GSF guild there that we like to play friendly 8v8's against, and give each other the opportunity to test out new strategies against one another. The guild is called Shadowlands Reconnaissance Wing, and you can usually identify our toons because they have a -srw at the end of their names (or -srw'i for imp side). We can definitely let you know when we visit harbinger sometime and you can fly with us if you would like! We do use teamspeak as well, it is very important for cohesion.
  14. You seem really hung up on what the words "should" mean here and aren't understanding what they are actually meant to be. A scout is whatever they say it is, and in this case they say its an offensive powerhouse, which it is. They could call it a "Bunny" for all I care and it would still be an offensive powerhouse even if "bunnies are meant to be cute not dangerous". They also say a strike fighter is a jack of all trades, which is tries to do, but that's also what makes it **** and unable to kill anything in any match that matters. Like I don't even understand how you're making an argument on how this game should follow your definition on what constitutes a scout based on its name alone. I don't see bombers throwing down ordinance on ground based targets (what REAL bombers do BTW) so why aren't you getting worked up about that too? Just rubs me up the wrong way carrying on like this. And while I'm at it, who cares if you run straight at a gunship and kill it? Anything can do that. Bombers can do that, gunships that forgot their railguns at home can do that, its not special at all....at all. Whats important is what works in the matches where you look at the red lineup and say "How can I beat these guys, they've been tearing it up all night, how can I stop them?". A lot of folks around here seem to just throw up their hands and say "unfair premades, gunships OP, lag hacks, blah blah blah" and just keep doing what they have always done confident in the knowledge that those reds are just cheap honorless scum pails and those matches just "don't count". Every pilot who flies a strike regularly HAS to have some sort of coping mechanism/mental block from the tough matches and blame it on something else unless they are methodically and dubiously avoiding any hard matches, getting their *** seriously carried or are flying on a dead-*** server. Only time I've seen strikes do OK against solid pilots is when they are outnumbering the opponents who have all their missile breaks are gone and are forced to play aggressive positions out of necessity. But hey, strikers gonna strike.
  15. I was strike-three... Character is long gone now, but it was fun while it lasted.
  16. GSF is being updated? THANK YOU SO MUCH! Offering players a gunship and bomber off the bat is an excellent idea
  17. Excellent and very comprehensive post, Bravo! I would also like to bring up here a boost to the strike fighter's ability to strafe. It would give it an advantage if its strafe was faster and more responsive than other craft and would make it easier to stay on target and keep the guns pointing where they mean to do the most business.
  18. Cool thread! Our guild has a "strategic database" where we have threads where we can develop and archive different strategies which we utilize during our premade vs. premade matchups, and we refine them as time goes on. In there we have our standard SOP's (Standard operating procedures) as well as AOP's (alternate operating procedures) which can be deployed against atypical team compositions as well as more unique and experimental strategies. While I won't post any of our SOP's, one of our more exotic strategies which I developed in 2015 and has been successfully deployed is known as the "Map tilt strategy", or, as my guildmates affectionately refer to it "the aussie strat". To quote myself:
  19. I am surprised that nobody is mentioning how useless a gunship railgun aimbot would be when the requirement to fire a railgun includes charging up. Knowing where the enemy is and where he is going to be in about 1-2 seconds is part of what makes good gunship pilots good. An aimbot that won't start charging until it sees an open enemy will waste a lot of time it could have been using to charge. Positioning and situational awareness, as well as strafing, account for much more than clicking where you need to click.
  20. I've met SammyG in person before, if he is an android, he is certainly a very well disguised one.
  21. To answer your question There are no aim bots in GSF
