Unioinio
Honestly it seems everytime I go into battle there is always some one with a fighter or a scout that evades me and kills me so how do they do it? What are the tricks?
Enurrsha
I, and I'm sure many of the frequent posters here, would suggest you avail yourself of the information already in these forums and refine your question as much as possible, as it is simply too broad. The "Stasipedia" (stickied 2nd from the top of the GSF forums) is a great place to start. Simply put, there is no "best fighter" in GSF, just as there is no "best class" in the ground PvP or PvE areas of SWTOR, everything is situational. The most accurate answer that can be given to your question in its current form would be "it depends".
DreadzKaiser
in GSF, Skill >>> everything else. Generally speaking, Battlescouts and Gunships will be the dominating ships, but there is no one best ship. ......cept Strikes....

Verain
Simply put, there is no "best fighter" in GSF, just as there is no "best class" in the ground PvP or PvE areas of SWTOR, everything is situational. The best dogfighter is the battle scout (type 2 scout). This is the Sting, Flashfire, or IL-5. If you want the best fighter, purchase and practice this ship. It is the best. For ranged support, the type 1 gunship (Quarrel, Mangler, VX-9) is probably top, but the hybrid melee/ranged type 3 gunship (Jungoran, Condor) is also excellent. For node defense, the type 1 bomber (Razorwire, Rampart) is top dog. The type 2 bomber (Legion, Warcarrier, G-X1) is good as well, and also offers better support in TDM. Other ships are useful and powerful for various things, but if someone asks what the best fighter is, we can actually answer that question. Don't pretend like we don't know what the effective ships are when a new guy asks. Polling us about this known question is literally why he is here. Luneward
You have to be a a certain skill level before you can say 'Skill >>> everything else' and this phrase does not apply to the OP. True, but it still applies when the OP is facing other people. A veteran or ace will still be able to use a strike fighter to crush a newer player almost every time. Certainly an ace in a strike will get beaten fairly easily by an ace in a battlescout, but part of the point is to tell the poster not to try to gauge which are the 'best' fighters by which ships kill him - at least not until he's gotten a lot more practice in so that skill is less of a factor. True enough, and even then matchups are a thing. need a huge skill gap for a gunship to down a battlescout in a dogfight...
Verain
I mean, yea, skill is huge. But remember, it's still a valid question. If you are better than 30% of GSF players, you'll still do better on a meta ship in most cases, versus that 25% - 35% range that is your weight class. There's a couple exceptions of ship builds with oddly high skill floors, but that's an exception, not a rule, and it's certainly nothing to do with the most powerful ship builds in general.
