This event is pathetic

Then never ever open a cartel pack or play the slots again.

Heck, I'd actually advise you to not leave the house because the likelyhood of you injuring yourself with that kind of bad luck is insane.

Actually most of the accidents happen at home.

...PSA. The more you know.

If you spent 500k on smugglers chips, that'd be 500 chips.

now, for every 50 smuggler chips I have bought, I have gotten an average of 10 kingpin chips (I wrote the numbers down).

So that's 100 chips you should have gotten...

and 100 chips should have given you at least 5-10 golden certificates. (more actually, since you should have gotten some from the smuggler machines while spending those 500 smuggler chisp and you should have gotten some chips back from the kingpin machine too).

According to the calculations on dulfys page, you spend on average 28,958 credits per golden chip using the smugglers chips.

That's 17 certificates you should have gotten for those 500k.

I find it incredibly doubtful that you only got 1.

Either you are overstating the money you spent or underplaying the certificates you got.

I mean, it's not like hyperbole is uncommon on these forums to "strenghten" ones arguments and griefs.

RNG therefore it is possible that what he says is true. You choose not to believe it. Someone could spend 100 million credits on smuggler chip and never see a kingpin chip.

I never said I chose not to believe it. I just said it is pretty unbelievable.

The odds of only getting a single gold certificate from that are astronomical.

I mean, sure, he could be telling the truth, but the chances are so slim that I highly doubt it and it's more likely that he is blowing things out of proportion to make a point.

I just have to laugh at the people who post in general chat about "I only spent 50K and got a Rancor!" as if some skill of theirs was involved in getting good RNG.

I agree the event is a bit mediocre, but my hope is they are setting up the casino in order to add more games in the future (pazaak anyone?!?).

Call me a sore loser if you wish but this event is pathetic and lazy, it sucks that every single item available is only attainable via the RNG...I really wish they actually put some thought into this and had other forms of activities.

I have spent 500k and all I have to show for it is 1 gold certificate GG.

I'm sorry that you feel frustrated by the event. I can understand your frustration, losing at gambling is rarely fun IMO. All I can say is that some folks have had success when they stuck with it.

The choice is yours, I hope you give it another try, and choose to not judge the game or the current dev team too harshly based only on your disappointing returns.

It isn't astronomical. Each click is its own individual roll. Since the chance to win a prize are very small. It more likely to see this happen than the people claiming to have won big or have gotten everything with little credit investment.

I agree with original poster. This is a lousy event and extremely poor content. I don't have to pay for this events quality of content. I am sure there are free phone aps that are more engaging than this event. I will admit I am jaded having gone 4.2 mil in and still not found the rancor, however here are the three main points I have.

1) The mini-game itself is an abysmal design. It is spam clicking. If it was three card, or black jack, or anything that involved the least amount of mental stimulation, it would minimize the pain of losing constantly. All this game is a sore finger and headache.

2) While losing 4.2m is unlucky, IIRC, it is probably in the bottom 15%. It is not an unfathomably unlucky %. People are going to get to this point. I have won 144 gold certificates. What do I do with them? I could buy multiple copies of every item on the vendor. If this is going to be a 3 month event with this many certificates distributed, there should have been more effort put into finding a way to spend the gold certificates. At minimum let me buy my kingpin token back. A gold certificate is not a win, it is just a fancy graphic loss.

3) Who actually is going to enjoy this event? Sure those who get lucky and win the rancor early will feel great about their luck, but a majority are not going to be in that category. I bet if you took 10 people and made them play these slots for 1 hour straight, 1 will be lucky and enjoy it. 3-4 will say "it was ok, but I am kind of tired of it. I would rather not play again." 5-6 are going to say "this was really boring after the first 15 minutes and I did not enjoy my next 45 minutes."

sorry to hear about your lost man, for me personally I don't really care much about the event, I browse thru the prize vendor and I don't really like the look of the Kingpin armor. Only the guns interest me.

So pretty much I only spend about 100k for smuggler ships and use it to win kingpin chip and from there on got all the guns. Standing between two machine and mindlessly clicking can get old very fast. So basically now I pretty much avoid Naar Shadaa all together.

If only they allow players to sell those golden certificate i would gladly buy some from you to get the some of the companion customization.

Yes, all on smuggler chips.

and I got a few of the Kingpin from the cartel currency.

So those smuggler chips didn't get you any kingpins? You may not want the rancor but I've found I had better chances of getting certificates using the kingpin chips while under the "feeling lucky" buff. Getting them from the smuggler machines didn't seem to happen that often.

while the original poster seems to be more upset that he didn't win anything and is either 12 and does not understand what it means to actually gamble in a casino or he is an adult and a fool, i will agree that this event is not an event at all but purely a pile of junk to hopefully grab peoples attention and have them come back.

This is an utter failure because not only is it or was it ever going to pull people back its so apparent this is just a half baked idea to clear up some of the credits the Chinese gold spammers have in their inventory.

yet again the create an event on a planet this time that should feel as if it is dirty, scary, thugs around every machine, chatter, violence, you name the adjuective but its just simple as SWTOR is

STERILE.....

Yep sterile.

1. its so quiet i think i could hear a mouse fart.

2. you have an entire casino and yet you chose to place the event in a small area right when you get off the taxi?

3. the rewards while they should be rare are what? more coins, certificates rarely and an occasional animation? seriously that's all your collective minds could come up with? \

4. the certificate rewards are um utter junk. i mean seriously shouldn't something so rare actually look as if its rare?

5. its almost as if i am in an even more lifeless environment now than before the casino was actually now a casino.

music? entertainment? have any of you devs ever been to vegas?

If I'm totally honest? This event feels rushed. Somewhat unfinished. Like it was moved forward in a hurry, along with two matching cartel packs sans reputation, to fill up the two month gap that was created by moving housing back. That's what I think. Someone was working on this and had to scamper to get it out the gate. It's fine for what it is... but if it feels like it was half-assed, there's probably a reason for it.

Now you are just contradicting yourself.

Even so, this one is better...

I have a sub because I don't like care for any other mmo on the market now. I've tried them and hated them. SWTOR is the best MMO on market right now in my opinion. But it is still a POS.

Especially in the light of this...

I hate SWTOR. So I guess we are even.

Paying for something one hates; We should all be so fortunate.

Sounds to me like you are spending 50K a pop for the Kingpin coins. Not the best way to play if credits is your concern. It's fine if credits are no object to you and you have limited time to play...as it is faster. But Kingpin coins drop from the Smuggler slots and is a more credit efficient way to play the event.

Personally, I have spent about 400K on smuggler coins and have gotten nearly 30 gold certs and three Vectrons.
