I have to be honest about this event

Playing Devil's advocate, I just prefer to think they have their hands full with the two upcoming expansions, which is why this whole event feels rushed and some stuff pertaining GSF was delayed indefinitely.

Here's hoping the wait is worth it. Late October, early November is still a long ways.

Along with playing devils advocate, I also just want to remind players that slots in general are nothing more than simply pressing a single button, no matter how colorful and pretty they make a game look.

The "event" could obviously be more, but somehow I spent hours there Tuesday night...I haven't given that much time to many other solo activities in this game...if any...

Stop both your preaching and patronizing then.

Sarfux doesn't deserve this kind of a reply...he's just trying to stay upbeat in the face of growing frustration. Please don't fault him for being optimistic.

Still playing forum cop, I see.

There is nothing "playing cop" about it. It was a completely uncalled for attack on me that had no reason for it that others see it as well.

BTW, I like the event and I think this is a glimpse into the future of what Nar Shaddaa will be. Perhaps they could put them inside the casinos more so it's more immersive. That would be even better!

Not being a big gambler type person, it kind of entertained me for a couple of minutes. I might go try to get the tommy gun, cause tommy gun, and maybe try for the ride. The rancor? Meh, not too interested. What I think they should do is put those slot machines all over Nar Shadaa. So you'll be cruising along questing and, wham! random slot machine. Just like in Vegas. You go into some random convenience store that has a broken down beat up slot machine in the corner. The random machines could have different types of rewards for the various districts. Like a speeder from the swoop gang and stuff.

TOMMY GUN! Do it now!

I promise you it's worth it.

One thing that does not make sense to me is that we dont have more entertainment in the spacefleet areas. There is a special area for VIPs but no other area with casino, no spiritual areas, sport areas etc etc.

I completely agree. This isn't a game it's a switch. You flip the switch and it either comes up 1 or 0. It couldn't have been that hard to come up with something that had at least a tiny bit of gameplay value to it. None of the traditional gambling games like Blackjack are patented. They could have just used one of those.

I usually don't like to put down developers for the work they do that adds features to the game but I have to be brutally honest. The event rewards are really cool but the event itself is....

SO MIND-NUMBINGLY BORING!!!!!

I get it is suppose to be a credit sink, but couldn't we have had something a bit more, well, fun to play? Hell, the losing streak I've had would have made the grind more bearable if it were some type of gambling that was fun. I have such a headache.

I liked some of the event reward weapons (looking forward to having my Commando use her shiny, new boom stick), and the armor was, not to my taste, but I think Gault can carry it off. I like that most of the event rewards are (relatively) cheap, and BoL. I enjoyed the Empire introductory cutscene. I think the Republic introductory cutscene was not so great. I think the Empire introductory cutscene should be the only one used. It is rife with my perception of Hutts, gambling, and Nar Shaddaa. Well done on that.

As I was getting bored while doing my small part in throwing credits into the credit sink, I thought about what could make the event fun. Then, it hit me. The event is missing a sarlacc pit! Instead of Kingpin, have an area with a sarlacc pit. Chuck companions into a sarlacc pit, and then the sarlacc spews the companion out, with a prize if the RNG gods are feeling generous.

Corso: "Now you're dumb, ugly and deaaaaaaaaaad!"

Tweek: "jabber, jabber, jabber, jabbbbbbbber!"

Quinn: "Vette crossed her eyes at me, and Pierce didn't call me sirrrrrrr!"

This I could do until my characters ran out of credits.

I guess Bioware considers this event as a minor one, just like the Life Day event. Why? If you check the event tab of the achievement window, you can see that such events as the Gree one, Rakghoul one and the Bounty one have their own categories, while Life Day and Nightlife ones are under "General" category.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, didn't read the whole thread.

It hasn't but I noticed it as such in-game. I hope it becomes more than a yearly thing.

Are the prizes you can win Bound to Account or Character? If not, I'll just buy whatever off the GTN.

all the prizes are legacy bound

you cant sell any of it on the gtn, if there is something you want you will have to earn it the hard way. It was a masterfully designed credit sink with the carrot at the end of the stick as the rancor that everyone wants

Not me :D I work too hard for my credits to throw them away on the remote chance I might get a worthless piece of pixilated crap or a seat at the cool kids' table. Never have been fond of carrots, much prefer peas and radishes. :)

It's not what i had in mind for a working casino, especially the so called slot machines. Because to win double then lose 1 then win one and then win double then lose 3 in a row and then the big pay off is a certificate, JUST 1 Certificate not 3 or 4 or 10 i mean that would be a nice small jack pot reward, Like a Real Slot machine type of pay off. This System BW has is Boring and i won enough certificates between 3 of my toons to get a fedora hat, and i won a new speeder but it only took between the 3 600k, just for those things, just not worth it, really.

Implement Pazaak and come up with other games that can utilize the tables in the casinos. Plus make the Slot machine more bells a whistles. Perhaps add in the factor of the spinning slot machine that you cheer, CHERRY CHERRY BELL, Oh darn, i didnt win, then out of the blue u hit CHERRY CHERRY CHERRY, you here and see bright lights and bells and whistles going off, ding ding ding, you won the jack pot (what ever that may be) but something exciting and fun and worth the while of the time consumed.

Do we get any freebie starter coins or whatever for the event?

Yes. 5 Smuggler tokens if you pick up the mission from Fleet, and then go to the casino on Nar Shaddaa. And, some XP and credits. Not much, but hey, free.

If so can we trade or mail them?

No.

No, it is a privately owned and run forum, and you have no right to post at all. You can post because BW allows you post, within the limits BW imposes, but neither you nor I nor anyone else here has a right to post.

I do have the right to post. My subscription gives me that right. Just like you, just like him. So I have every right.

I was hoping for some introductory money like they do in the real casinos but no, nothing.

I think the 5 Smuggler chips qualify.

If you work hard playing a computer game, you're doing it wrong.

Yeah, totally different from that set of not-just-a-bunch-of-pxels Obroan gear.

If you work hard playing a computer game, you're doing it wrong.

"Work hard for" in a video game is just a turn of phrase. It doesn't mean actual "work". It means, "I spent a lot of time doing X"

For example, if you're in a guild that likes to do ops progression, but your dps is lacking, and you practice at the ops dummy to improve, resulting in your group finally beating the boss, you have "worked hard to finish the op"

Doesn't mean it is actual work. It means you took time and effort to accomplish something in a video game.

And for some, it can be fun.
