Why are their no macro's again?

Sorry... I don't understand... Macro's don't give you an advantage, their fair, they fix problems the game developers put in combat. Oh, and the most important part of all... THEY ARE OPTIONAL!!!

Me having macro's has nothing to do with another player who doesn't use them. So why should I not have them?

there*.... Why are there* no macro's again?

... grammar trolls... fml

Oh, there are plenty of players using macros.

BW doesn't seem to ever catch them - very few speedhackers on Jung Ma (despite claims to the contrary) but quite a few macro users. I can't name the dirty pubs here, but they know who they are.

from guild summit:

Q: any simple macros? A: its on the list, no eta. No macros that affect combat directly. We don’t want a higher barrier of entry to combat. Mouse over healing is not considered as a macro.

Q: I don’t have enough quickbars for my abilities – can you streamline abilities? A: maybe macros? we need to do more exploration, we need to get another quickbar in term (not in 1.2). Multi-spec will bring spec specific quickslots.

They don't want a higher barrier?... Wait a minute... then make constantly activated abilities "that are not on global cooldown" passive.

If I had macro's the first thing I would do is make cloak of pain on my marauder macro'd to cast every time I use my basic attack. So it will always be on cooldown.

Cloak of pain has a 1 minute cooldown. And last's 30 seconds if used properly... Cmon... So it's a passive buff lasting half it's cooldown? Just make it ALWAYS passive with a half as usefull affect?

These are examples of why players use macro's... Why should I have to push cloak of pain constantly WHILE pushing other combat skills. With macro's I can remove it from my action bars and focus on more important defensive cooldowns.

No macros because they aren't really needed. It's simple enough to bind what you need/use the most to common keys and or mouse buttons and apply as needed.

Just because YOU don't feel like they are needed, doesn't mean they are not needed. I like to PvP in my games. And in PvP, to go pro, you need to TRY to be the best. Clickin {or hotkey pressing} my undying rage ability, 'then' my PvP medpac, 'then' my reusable chemist medpac, all right behind each other; When none of these are on global cooldown (correct me if im wrong), will make me miss a 1-second window where I could have pressed an attack.

With a macro.. I have all these 3 items/skills on 1 button. I press that 1 button and then continue to fight. My proper use of macro's has saved me from pushing 4 buttons in 1 global rotation, into pushing 2. Moments like those are what separates an average PvPer from a high ranking PvPer. And I like to be the best... Yay, power, yay Sith.

You have to be really bad to need macros in this game. l2p

Again, macro's are optional and very opinionated. If you think your better without macro's then simply state it to yourself and move on. Say something that explains why other players shouldn't have them, or leave the thread. Otherwise I will just report you for harassment.

PvP based on gear that allows the usage of healing and stat buffs without giving a single thought about synergy between classes is not PvP one needs to "go pro" in.

That is a very good response... But at the same time, I'm not very big on teamwork PvP. I do realize it's an MMO and should be focused on teamwork. But I don't rely on other players really well. But hindering 1 players performance isn't a good way to fix it. That's the same as saying, "I shouldn't play my best, because my teammate will do the work for me."

I do understand this isn't much of a game to "go pro" in... But I still like the PvP, and it's far from awful. But let's say I'm just doing PvP for the cool gear for roleplay. I still want to have fun in those Warzone grinds. And it's more fun to be rewarded for your efforts. I try hard, I play hard. Macro's simply let me do things in my own way. Again... It's optional.

Macro's a great. I have multiple set up.

I have rocket boost and a mount. So what I did was macro my mount, then a .05 second delay, then my rocket boost.

This way no matter where I am all I have to do is tap one button and if my mount can not activate, my rocket boost will.

I also have one for buffing.

I have a permanent med stim and buffs. My macro allows me to use my stim, select myself, buff, reselect my last enemy. This way I always use my stim and buff at the same time without an error message because I am still targeting another player.

Oh yeah, I also have one for healing. I use my PvP Adrenal and Medpack first followed by my normal permanent med pack. That way when ever I need heals I can tap one button and in PvP heal using my PvP base medpacks and if I am in PvE I will just use my normal med pack.

You are 100% correct. Only bad players use macro's. Not players who can logically bind multiple actions so they do not interrupt each other.

A macro that enables you to get on the speeder or a rocket boost?

Those are some really cool macros... But I think there's something about third party programs being against the rules... So however your using those macro's is probably against the rules. So I thank you for supporting macro's, but perhaps you shouldn't so openly admit to currently using them like that.

If they want to ban me from using a Razer Naga, G15 and G13 keyboard they are welcome to try. I would love to see how well this game supports it's self when they start banning equipment they specifically sold for this game.

Those are really neat... But I dislike the Razer Naga, (find it uncomfortable, not multibutton mice, just the razer naga) And I pref. to play SWTOR on my laptop.

Even so... allowing macro's, banning macro's... If people are using them, and their not unfair, and they're optional. Then why are they still not in the game!

the same reason we still have a lot of basic beta level issues, it is more profitable to work on the Cartel Market and expansions than add in content that will not draw more players to the game.

I was beginning to think the same thing... SWTOR seems to be turning into money hog, more than it is trying to bring players back.

When I joined this game it was so amazing. I left simply because after they ruined my UI setup (completely reset all my action bars when introducing the custom UI's) for alittle while. I came back and the game had been made free to play, my characters had been renamed and tossed around different servers like a whore at a frat party, and the game was begging for my money everywhere... Even though I was already subscribed.

I have to pay, to use EMOTES... cmon...

But honestly, this is off topic... Macros... where are they?
