MouseNoFour
We all know that Acolytes that fail to become Sith are killed. What about those that hope to become a Jedi but fail? What happens to them? I am assuming you cant just turn off your force abilities.

Devlonir
Jedi Service Corps. This indeed. Only those too arrogant to lay down their lightsabers and still want to study the Force afterwards will defect and, probably, join the Sith Empire. People simply not good enough will often head to the Service Corps or, if harmless like Guss Tuno, will be allowed to simply go back to normal life. JacenHallis
You can stay a padawan for as long as you live (see Jolee Bindo). But there are alternatives, such as the Service Corps and what not. The Jedi do take care of those who, for whatever reason, fail to pass the Trials. Lunafox
I think force sensitives that don't make the cut are probably relegated to tending the Jedi archives, helping to herd and teach younglings, perhaps instruct theory etc.
Leokul
Jedi who fail the Knight Trials can either leave the order; or are offered alternative positions by the council of reassignment; or can attempt the trials again at a later time. (This is sometimes frowned upon because it's seen as being against the will of the Force and just poor behaviour) The Jedi Service Corps consists of Four Branches (at least in the later Old Republic Era) Agricultural Corps - Not simply farmers, but researchers and geologists Medical Corps - Expert healers and biohazard specialists (often seen as the greatest doctors in the galaxy) Educational Corps- Teachers in public schools as well as those who maintain the archives. Explorational Corps - Diplomats and Ambassadors as well as colony pioneers It is important to remember that all are still "Jedi" and may carry lightsabers (having undergone the same basic training as all other initiates) and the Corps DO have their own Jedi Masters too. They are simply not Jedi Knights. Also, not all in the Jedi Service Corps are failures either, service can be entirely voluntary depending upon the candidate if they hold the aptitude or are simply better suited to civilian endeavours instead of martial ones. Fractal_Eye
They become your companion I heal you with JEDI POWER! (Man, I truly believe the Smuggler class has the best companions, lol. If they moved Blizz over to that class (and dropped Corso, maybe), I think I would just play my Scoundrel simply to hang out with my crew.) Athena-Nike
There's a quest on Balmora for Empire that shows the republic taking force sensitive failures from the empire to turn into farmers and hyperdrive mechanics and stuff. Though thats the republic not the Jedi
