Ssfbistimg
too all those who are crying about how hard it is to gear up or how bad the gear gap is... stop being lazy. we all had to do the gear grind accept now it is way easier then it was at launch. It's way easier then it was at 1.1 I mean seriously I can go from green leveling gear to full BM in my 3 days off of work.

It's pretty bad when you have to tell people to stop being lazy when referring to a video game... I agree though.... people are so used to getting things handed to them. I doubt any of these people who complain about the grind work a full time job. If they can't deal with grinding gear in a damn video game I doubt they could handle grinding a paycheck in a 40 hour work week.
Anishor
Pro tip #327: If you don't like investing time into a game... don't play MMO's. Vertical Progression doesn't mean it's good. Here it's implemented in such a way that bad players can hide behind a gear gap.
UGLYMRJ
Vertical Progression doesn't mean it's good. Here it's implemented in such a way that bad players can hide behind a gear gap. False. There are a huge number of bad players wearing war hero gear that would stand no chance against others in recruit gear. Bad players who are not fully geared use this as an excuse for not excelling... bad players who are geared use class balance as a reason for not excelling. Bad players who are geared and using top tier classes blame their teams.... The list goes on and on but again... your logic is false. I ran into 2 pubs in the black hole who appeared to be wearing mostly WH gear. Who knows... they could have pulled out mods and put something else in but .... why? Anyways... Full BM PT with aug's.... roaming the black hole and got jumped by 2 players... with 2 companions... I had only my companion. I slaughtered them both and still had approx 40% of my HP left. Not because I'm some super elite god of SWTOR.... but because these guys were absolutely horrible. This happens all the time... the general population of this game is really bad. I am easily far above average but it's hardly anything to brag about in this keyboard turning and clicking, fan boy community of casual players. The gear gap exists.... but the difference between the two is nowhere near where the skill gap lies in the general population of this game. RogueNights
I like the way it is, I wouldn’t say this game is any less fair than real life. You can’t stay in lowbie forever nor move to 50 and still have it super easy.

Glower
There is only a small slight difference from BM to WH. If you had a clue you would know this. You're so smart, so tell me - one-two WH+ geared players vs 4-5-6(!!!) sub-BM include me all the match and alive for 15-20sec its only skill? LOL! Technohic
I think gearing up now is fine. I was just thinking about players that roll the next "OP" class. Whether it is really OP or not, doesn't matter. It would be less likely people roll those toons just for that reason than if they could get that toon geared up any easier. I really think you could focus on just your main and get BM and augment it easy enough as is.

LOL! The difference between you and I is that I understand the game mechanics and how to prevail as a contender. Instead of blaming others and there gear for your shortcomings, why don't you really take the time and reflect on what you are doing wrong and correct it. Example: If I want to collect badges I can do that. http://assets-cloud.enjin.com/users/1704304/pics/original/885727.jpg http://assets-cloud.enjin.com/users/1704304/pics/original/881271.jpg http://assets-cloud.enjin.com/users/1704304/pics/original/1135224.jpg Example: Now if I wanted to be a pure DPS show off. http://assets-cloud.enjin.com/users/1704304/pics/original/1135234.jpg http://assets-cloud.enjin.com/users/1704304/pics/original/1135235.jpg http://assets-cloud.enjin.com/users/1704304/pics/original/893342.jpg http://assets-cloud.enjin.com/users/1704304/pics/original/1152287.jpg Now with this said, I play a class were a lot people believe it is gimped and it is to a certain degree but I make it work because I have taken the time to understand my class and the battlefield and before you call me a pocket healer look at my death ratio. I never take a pocket healer with me period because I like to pug it and I still out perform/DPS most on a gimped class. I am so feared on my server that this is what happen when you learn to play. http://assets-cloud.enjin.com/users/1704304/pics/original/1152286.jpg They don't show up L2P Edited October 15, 2012 by Asturias
Glower
Hm, okay, but how about lower side of scrore board? http://assets-cloud.enjin.com/users/1704304/pics/original/885727.jpg http://assets-cloud.enjin.com/users/1704304/pics/original/881271.jpg http://assets-cloud.enjin.com/users/1704304/pics/original/1152287.jpg They all do not know how to play? Once again. If my team with 18-21k health (i.e BM/WH or WH+ gear mix) we win with 70%. If my team with 17-18k... we lose with 80-90%. It's all just skill? Also, i know how to play, not very good but still good. Edited October 15, 2012 by Glower

Also, i know how to play, not very good but still good. I can see you don't read stats very well but I'll explain. If you look at several of those pics there are healers with great numbers and most healing teams are fantastic for rated especially when they know how to chain heal. In those pics a couple of us magically worked together and started to mark and shut down all the healers which caused there tanks and DPS players to fall like a ton of bricks. If you noticed on the 19 medal I had to switch it up to healing when I am DPS. Stuff like this comes from learning and the best lessons are the ones you lose and your not always going to be on a perfect team when you pug it but by being a team player and going after objectives you can beat any team. Jung Ma is a small community and a good one with some outstanding players. Its not a easy server by a long shot but people tend to learn there class and that is all I am getting at. A skilled WH Merc vs a Skilled BM Merc = WH Merc Win A Not so Skilled WH Merc vs a Skilled BM Merc = BM Merc WIN The above is the nature of progression and most MMOs on the market use this method for a reason. Minack
For a game based around rolling alts, the PvP gearing system just doesn't make sense.

Atramar
A grind is still a grind. I still think THIS grind is good... with recruit you are weaker (yes, I admit, it makes a difference, not big one as all assume) and you need to use skill more then depend on heavy mega death hits. Then you gear up, and your skill is worth twice as much. If you can stand for your self in recruit (unless enemy is paper to your rock) against WH, you will be rockstar week later. If you are crappy player who blames all on gear and need to outgear scissors to kill them with a rock, well... I just hope I don't have to pug with you

My Sorc healer is in recruit mk2 and I can survive fotm specs with ease as a healer, but I've seen many other Sorc healers struggle against Pyro or Rage spec who have got full wh in a 1v2 (2 being the Sorc healer and a dps/tank peeling and guarding).
