CelesWylder
I have a pretty good computer, but the lag in warzone's is pretty terrible even with the settings all the way down. I don't think it's something on my end.

ScythiaZero
I use to have to pvp with 6-12fps but once changed my motherboard n cpu using the same gx card and bam went from 6-12 fps to 60-112fps in WZ n cause of that I'm always 90% of the time getting 7+medals. As a shadow you cant afford to have any lagg at all. I use to run a dual core 2.2ghz with 8gb DDR2 ram, and now I'm running 4.4(using the new i5 cpu 3.3 safely overclocked using the wizard) and i purchased new RAM 8gb DDR3 1000 something. overall i guess when they say minimal requirement they don't consider pvp. hope tht helps, only thing you can really do is upgrade your pc. Yewdee
Same issues, though I actually have the issues in open world sometimes as well. (Ability lag) example, Ilum, Nobody but NPC's Around, ability lag just fine. Ilum, 2 4 man PC groups nearby+my 4man doing a daily mission, Ability lag JUST like in warzones... (Example, push stealth, dont actually stealth till the Global finishes) FPS always averages 40+ no matter the situation. Even in warzones, though in warzones, it drops to sub 25 ussualy, but not as bad as reported by others. Changing from High > Low settings usually does fix it in open world, but it does NOT fix it in PvP. I am worried about Operations, as that is what i mainly play, hopefully I donot have these issues there as well :/ Edited January 6, 2012 by Yewdee
Mcfree
Shameless Bump. The warzones are tons of fun for sure, but as noted the ability lagg is really noticable. I'm starting to believe the Warzone servers are borked but what do i know.

Nightchu
also having fps issues. 60 fps everywhere else. it's the worse in civil war.
Juicenewtonz
My fps isnt an issue but i do notice a weird delay in between tracer missiles on my merc. Hopefully by combat optimization they mean stuff like this
Gifloun
I feel like I have tried all the band-aids I could find and the game runs decent for the most part other than Fleet, different thread, and WZ's. The Civil War Wz is TERRIBLE soon as the turrets are all firing I drop to 15-20 FPS and settings just don't matter.
Akyio
Im sorry but it will have to be your computer. 5 days ago i played with HP laptop. dual core 2400, 4gb DDR, some crappy video card, with lowest graphic settings and it was lagging so bad. now im on a new gaming laptop i7, 8gb ddr, gefore gtx 560M(1,5gb GDDR5) im on max settings, everything is abo****ely on MAX, i have no lag at all, everything is smooth and clean, doesnt matter i see 10 or 20 characters in game casting spells and abilities, it never ever gets laggy. however there is sometimes something with internet, im not sure about my internet or not my. it just kinda freezes in warzone, but if we talk about fps its perfect. crayzeeboy
I have a feeling that the game is partial to certain hardware. I heard a suggestion from one of the players that BioWare should own it and give it's players a replay or an additional free month. I do tend to agree, or at the very least suspend charging for subs until these situations are resolved. Let's see if BioWare values it's players or their cash more. Okay BioWare the ball is in your court what will you do?

I am sorry it's not a computer issue. My computer runs 60+ fps constant anywhere else besides the fleet. Warzones (especially alderaan) it dips to single digits. 8gb ddr RAM. amd 6 core 3.2 ghz and dual ATI 6870's. Uninstalled and re-installed the ATI drivers. All is up to date. My brother's computer which is still nice but not as nice as mine runs WZ's fine.

Vorender
Same issue for me. 40-60 FPS with everything cranked outside of WZ, and about 15 FPS and 2 second ability delay in WZ. Sorry, the issue isn't on my end Bioware. Please fix this right after you figure out the constant Error9000 my friends are getting. Thanks. Davison
+1 to say its too laggy its unplayable, the combat is so slow and rugged compared to the smoothness of the open world.

greenmartin
bump for the development team that failed in warhammer and have failed in swtor bump for using a well known broken engine the hero-engine bump for using this engine knowing full well it has massive fps an stability issues in crowded areas such as citys an quest hubs in mmo's bump for pretending this issue doesnt exist bump for ignoring all the closed > launch testers that report this issue over and over again bump for the biased paid reviews of swtor that make no mention of the games issues bump for the indian an mexican call centre customer support staff that have trouble grasping the idea of english an that ati drivers dont work on nvidia gtx 580's bump for all the pc gamers fed up with EA branded products that are 95% console ports and the other 5% are unoptimised garbage using broken engines like this here hero-engine bump for all the people who have joined the "never buying EA again" club bump for all those who run bf3 an skyrim on ultra @ 120 fps but cant get more then 30 in swtor on any graphic setting The fact that this is still a problem is a joke. OliverIsaBear
This seriously needs to be fixed. I experienced no lag in many months of beta play, and have yet to be able to play an unlaggy warzone since launch
WickedImage
Indeed the WZ's carry tremendous latency/lag spikes in them. Last night I was teleporting upwards of 30 meters when spikes got bad. Powers won't fire off, can't set up positional attacks, powers fire twice when you dont want them too....
Thiussat
One thing I have noticed is that laser canon or blaster fire in the air really makes my FPS go to pot. This is why the ALderaan warzone is so laggy -- those big cannons firing off really put a MASSIVE dent in everyone's FPS. I have fps drops in all warzones, but NOTHING like Alderaan. It is almost unplayable. It's the same thing when I enter any area where lots of blaster fire whirls through the air. Instant and massive fps drop. Perhaps they should start there and figure out if there is a way to optimize the blaster fire, etc. There is a reason BW used Hero engine -- so they wouldn't have to spend a ton of dough and time developing their own. I understand that and don't blame them (the whole reinvent the wheel thing). However, now they are faced with the problem of trying to optimize someone else's engine, which probably means tons of work and coding. I don't know how the licensing works, or whether BW has access to the full source-code and a right to modify it or what. Hopefully they figure something out. amoxxx
For every 3-4 skills someone else gets off that has the game working properly I maybe get off one skill... I bought the game for PvP and I can't even play. I want a ************* refund... Edited January 8, 2012 by amoxxx

Sorrasht
Bumpness for disappointment. Such a huge franchise, so much time spent working on great PVE content and yet something as simple and potentially gamebreaking as PVP is neglected to a point where it seems i'm playing an alpha version. I've played a lot of MMOs in the past years (WoW, AoC, WAR, Aion, LOTRO, Rift) and although all had their problems at launch, the most buggy of them were launched YEARS back. Hell, Rift was the first release i didn't feel like a guinea pig and i bet their budget wasn't 20% of EA's. I never wanted to believe the rants of former EA-Mythic employees was true, but i guess big gaming companies decided they didn't need skilled devs and competent leadership. To think that you can release a game where high-end rigs can't cope with 16 players on a sandbox and assume you'll get away with it is the kind of mindframe that let's you win a couple of millions at launch but throw away 10x that, which would be a certainty given the huge name Star Wars has and the fidelity many people were willing to give this game. One would think they'd learn a thing or two from Activision-Blizzard (and can they mess stuff up...) but it's yet another proof that huge profit ruins creativity. First, it was the movie industry. Now it has infected the game industry. The future does look grim. I for one will keep playing the PVE content until i'm utterly bored with the lack of real PVP. In time, i suspect, i'll just let lose of my sub and return to another MMO where i actually feel i'm playing against other characters, not trying to guess where the enemy player is every second so i can actually melee him. Peace.
