  1. Agree with OP.. I felt exactly the same with my vanguard only being able to use rifles. A special forces member that only knows how to use one type of gun...silly. And boring when it comes to gameplay. Especially considering how stats on items work in this game. Each item you get is better than the last in every way in a very linear way based on lvl. So the only meaningful difference is the slight graphic difference. Simplification good. Oversimplification bad. Simplification to the point you basically use one weapon the entire game which gets a stat upgrade every once in a while...horrible. Reminds me of ME2. I just don't care about gear unless it has expertise on it at this point. It's all meaningless.
  2. This. Get a new computer and don't break it this time. Everyone knows at this point it is the answer to all swtor problems.. Thanks forums.
  3. The other warzone FPS/stuttering/delay threads with 100 thousand+ views combined didn't help much.. One more thread is worth a shot I guess... Was just doing warzones and in almost every game someone commented on the lack of any warzone performance increase in this patch.
  4. Thats all fine if fact. But even then reps should have remained in the lead. Especially assuming if the turret the imps captured was facing the reps ship..then the turret the reps captured was facing the imps ship. As said before the bonus tick+global tick explanation doesn't add up either as the reps didn't get a tick when the imps got 2. Unless each faction has it's own global tick.. in which case the warzone is a mess.
  5. I had assumed the turrets were cosmetic..and they should be if they aren't. But anyway by the shadow of the turret it appears to have to turn to face the reps ship before firing.
  6. This sounds good but.. If it ticked the second time due to a global score pulse why didn't both scores go down? Each team had one turret. So reps should have still been ahead by 5 even with a bonus tick. It obviously doesn't tick that fast the entire game but it is still strange. Also when the reps cap the turret at the beggining they do not get an instant tick.
  7. There are actually videos showing this in action. But some are claiming it is a bug that can go either way. I have not seen it go in reps favor yet but...
  8. So glad I am not the only one who has seen this. Thought I was going crazy. The GCD is the worst imo as it just seems wildly inconsistent. But on top of that all the casting and animation weirdness makes combat so awkward.
  9. Serious pvpers don't care about gear. If it was gear/abilites that customize your character to your playstyle like in DAoC then yes. But not this gear that makes me better tin every way so I win all the time stuff. There is confusion about what a PVPer is. A PVPer PVPs for competition. A competitive person wants their wins to have some meaning. WoW created this class of player that thinks PVP is about rushing to uber PVP gear and rolling people who don't have it yet. That is not competition. Unless the competition is who can spend more time at their PC. The people we are talking about are not PVPers. They are former PVEers who think they are PVPers now because they can get this ridiculous PVP gear and roll people who don't have it yet just like in current WoW. But PVPers did not want this better in every way super gear crap. That was put in to counter super PVE gear in WoW. PVP means player vs. player. We care about competition. Not getting better gear so I win all the time. Now these PVE'ers who think they are PVPers because they can rush to super PVP gear and roll people who don't have it yet have rolled imp..for the reason you stated and more. Unfortunately for faction balance there are problems because there IS OPed PVP gear in this game. If it wasn't around there would hardly be a problem.
  10. You are not thinking. That is not what that situation would mean at all. If that were true this would happen with every PC game ever released. But it doesn't. If it did people would have given up on PC gaming a long time ago. What are you even proposing? These people with issues just refuse to update their drivers? Of course it is a software problem. And when it gets fixed via patches that will be clear to everyone here who either can't understand or refuses to believe otherwise. Do people really think this game won't ever be optimized and it will forever just not run for 5% of people who meet or exceed the requirements? That would be insane. It will be fixed..and then everyone saying its not the engines fault will look like clowns.
  11. You and half the people in the warzones. Just ask next time you're in one how everyones frame rate is doing. Or check this thread with ~50k+ views..in the pvp forum.. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=48982&page=59
  12. 5% is not tiny. Like I said before. 5 is a small number..5% is huge. If all PC games had issues so bad on PCs that meet or exceed the requirements that 5% of the people who bought the game could not play properly we wouldn't be playing SWTOR. Because there would be no such thing as PC gaming.
  13. You would be totally right. Except that relative to your average PC game release 5% is a terrible number. As I said earlier if every PC game could only be played by 95% of the people who met the required or even recommended specs there would be no PC gaming. And the fact that it is the engines fault and not ******* PC gamers will be apparent when the performance issues get fixed via patch hopefully within the next few months.
  14. No. It doesn't. Which is why everyone with high end PCs who can't play a warzone without dropping below 20 fps is complaining. Make sense now?
  15. No. It really doesn't If you applied that to every PC game. There would be no PC gaming. 5 is a low number. 5% is huge.
  16. That is incorrect. Which will be apparent to everyone when BW fixes these performance issues eventually thru patches. 5% is huge. Way too many people for it to be random PC issues. Think about that for a moment.. If it was just a user PC issue..then all PC games would have 5% of the the people who meet the requirements unable to play them. Which would be absurd. Fact is most PC games are well optimized for the large variety of PC hardware out there. This game is not. As you say yourself..WoW has been optimized over the years. This game has not. That's not the users fault. Months from now I have faith the game will run smoothly for everyone with the hardware for it. And it will be because BW optimized their engine.
  17. Except in this case it's not 1 person and no one else. It's a lot of people with a lot of different configs. You are all being silly. A few months from now Bioware will have fixed these performance issues with patches. What will you say then? 'Everyone must have fixed their PCs' .......
  18. Dear god. It's everything BUT the game. Honestly.. where is the logic. If people run all their games fine except one...think about that for a moment. This is beyond the normal PC game issues of oops I forgot to update my driver! etc. The game has been out for awhile now. People updated their drivers awhile ago..many in the customer service threads have reformatted completely. There is a reason there are so many threads with at this point over a HUNDRED THOUSAND views on these forums about performance. That's even more impressive considering you can only find threads on this forum by Google search. It's not because they hate the game you love and just want to dump on it. It is because the game engine has performance issues and they want it fixed so they can play just like you. Just because it runs ok on 95% of machines(doubt that is true. especially in warzones) that really isn't a good number. If all PC games had that kind of trouble PC gaming would be close to dead and all PC game forums would look like this. But it isn't and they don't.
  19. I can't say most. But a lot. Ask next time you are in a warzone. Or look at the 100s of pages and 50k+ view thread in the PVP forum about warzone fps drop.
  20. This is both sad and funny. But mostly crushingly sad. Don't go to Vegas.
  21. That's a feature. Or maybe your processor is defective. It's not the games fault that's all I know. That seems to be common among people having lag only in warzones.
  22. This is false. In the customer service and pvp forum threads there are many people reporting both bad and good performance with the 5 and 6 series. It seems independent of video card. Strangely there seems to be more trouble with the 6s. I know my frame rate is great everywhere but drops to <20 in warzones and acts like there is a memory leak or something instantly. While others report good performance all around on the same card..a Radeon 5780.
