Marauders OP? Revert them to 1.1.5.

Yes. I'm serious. In fact, I'll be happy about it.

 

Annihilation got nerfed, the other trees got buffed. Legitimate, considering Annihilation was the strongest at the time (Rage a close second).

 

The only reason Marauders are OP right now is because every other class got nerfed. I remember joining this game and hearing "I almost regret rolling Sentinel/Marauder. They're so worthless". They got no buffs until 1.2.

 

In fact, I'm pretty sure that with the Expertise changes, if we reverted ALL class balance to 1.1.5, PvP would be better off.

 

By the way, for those of you out there who don't know: Guarded by the Force/Undying Rage lasts SIX seconds. Cloak of Pain/Rebuke lasts SIX seconds unless attacked, in which case it refreshes back to SIX seconds, grants 20% damage reduction, up to a max of 30 seconds. As a Marauder main since January, Cloak of Pain/Rebuke is a stronger skill than Guarded by the Force/Undying Rage.

 

And to think this QQ about Sentinels/Marauders would never have happened if all other classes hadn't gotten nerfed so hard (Mercs and Sorcs mostly, which coincidentally were the classes I used to see most often).

Actually, it is five seconds. I dont understand why everyone on this forum thinks that UR lasts 6 seconds :-)

I kinda agree, commandos and sages need a slight buff...

I would be more than happy if they completely reworked the gunnery tree... or if they just gave us more armor pen on hib like vanguards, so the assault specialist spec would become good instead of being just decent...

I laugh whenever someone says marauder/sentinel are OP when the current CC/resolve system is hugely in favour of CC classes.

 

Maybe you're not using your CC's and just bad at your class? Melee classes are at a huge disadvantage to this game due to the fact that they have to get close to do damage, not only that their main attack which causes the most damage ravage/master strike requires the player to be stood still and not to be interrupted, not that easy to do in a warzone.

 

Not to mention the fact you have to actually target, when I played sorc I was shocked how "aimbot" the force lightning was, and with no cooldown on madness spec that is lethal.

The nerf that sage/sorc received with wrath was unneeded. The commando/merc nerf was a bit to much.. Nerf a bit of the damage or the cast time... doing both was a bit extreme.. Edited by laiboch

The spec doesn't need more damage, it needs (I hate to say it) more control. A ranged root would take you far, no?

I was playing my level 30 sentinel watchman the other day and this *** kept whispering me about how watchmen were so OP. The hillarious part is that at level 30 the expertise changes don't mean anything and watchmen were nerfed except for master strike damage (+15% and uninterruptable) - I killed him without using it.

 

People are bad at this game.

 

When I play my gunslinger, they're OP. When I play my vanguard, they're OP. When I play my sorc, they're OP. When I play my sentinel, they're OP. I'm just thinking that compared to the pugs, I'm OP and I need a nerf bad.

They could revert them to pre-1.2 but the complaints would still be here on the forum and the gear expertise change would also still be here. They've always been an awesome class, the change to Ravage was just icing. Edited by Kabaal

The expertise changes are the entire problem in all seriousness. The actual buffs to the marauder class were not very large. People at level 30 complaining about level 30 marauders are just baddies - nothing worthwhile changed there (dispatch/execute is a level 46 skill).

 

If anything the fact that people don't play tanks anymore (because of the mass sorc reroll in 1.1) is probably a large reason why marauders seem so nasty - combined with the expertise changes.

 

The problem is sifting out the crying from FOTM reroller baddies from 1.1 (commandos/sages).

15% damage buff to master strike and uninterruptable isn't large?
