    Commando in PvP

    To all the people saying stuff like omg on my commando I top dps every time, I kill ppl in 3 shots and I heal like a monster, I would suggest playing another class. I'm not saying that your claims are not true, but If you're playing gunnery, try a gunslinger. If you're playing assault, try a vanguard. If you're playing healer, try one of the other healers. You will see the difference in performance. No matter how hard you try when you play your commando, those classes can do what you can, but better. As I said a lot of times, commandos need more utility, which wouldn't affect the pve performance but would seriously help in pvp
  3. A gunslinger should do slightly more dps than a commando, because it's the only thing they can do, it's a pure dps class. Commando can off heal and dot cleanse, and while off healing is surely not an easy thing to do with this class, we have the possibility to do it. And the dot cleanse is awesome. That said, there's no reason why gunslingers get so much utility and we get almost nothing. 1- Assault spec is mediocre, vanguard does it better This spec doesn't really need much to become good. Just add a 100% snare proc on hammer shot and make full auto channel twice as fast. People that talk about instant cast charged bolts should stop dreaming. Complete mobility and not being subject to interrutps applies to melee classes. All ranged classes are bound to casting in this game, it's the way the want it. That's why I think the above suggestions would help making assault spec competitive... oh, and give us an interrupt. 2- Gunnery is pve only, completely destroyed by interrupts This spec is the worst spec for pvp in the whole game imo. I won't go through all the specifics, but it's basicly a pve spec. To be viable in pvp, it needs either a complete rework or more utility... i think more utility is the best solution, things such as: An interrupt A root The option to have a root attached to the knockback The option to make concussive round instant cast The option to have 2 or more stacks of tech override when you use it (1 is a joke for a spec like this) The option to have a sort of speed boost after you use some skills The option to reduce the cooldown of your stun Some sort of get away skill, like jumping backwards 10 meters. These changes would not affect pve but they would help a lot in pvp. Of course I don't mean to have all these skills, just some of them. These are just suggestions. I also think that while gunnery dps is fine, it should be slightly higher.

What you say is not wrong, however there are some problems... 1- Ilum pvp zone is way too big for the numbers it can take, we all remember the insane lag with 100 people all standing in the same spot 2- other planets on pvp servers have the same lag issue ilum has, not to mention that there are npcs 3- Communicating with the other faction to organize events in this game is kinda hard. You can't talk to the opposite faction and the server forums are bad and barely anyone uses them 4- The outlaw's den is the best world pvp area in this game imo, then again it's going to be easier to organize a guild vs guild than proper big scale world pvp. Also i'm not sure if you can still summon your companion in that area, but they really should remove that if they haven't already 5- This is a minor reason really, but there is a huge lack of meaningful rewards for world pvp, and player stats at their current state are meaningless World pvp can happen if the player base wants it to happen, but it doesn't because of many reasons, and some are the ones I listed above. I don't know if you played swg, but in that game if you wanted world pvp you just had to go to restuss... it was that simple. I just hope that in another 6 months this game will actually be decent pvp wise, cause atm it's lacking a lot of stuff

  9. In pvp you want burst damage, and snipers have a lot of burst. Commando is just gimped atm and sage's dps is mainly based on dots and telekinetic throw (no burst at all), your only burst attack is force in balance. Sniper is nothing like smashing 2 buttons and winning, you need to play it right otherwise you just get owned. As I said, it's the only ranged class worth playing atm, and i also think it's quite balanced

  11. Well, the only weak points they have are that they're squishy and that they need to be in melee range to be 100% effective(which is not hard for a powertech to obtain). On the other hand, they have the best burst in the game atm, good utility (stun, aoe stun, pull), can kite with no problems, are not subject to interrupts of any form (which is fine). What i don't find fair is that if you play the same spec as commando, it's nowhere near as good as it is for vanguard, it's just decent. The result of marauder/assassins/powertechs being op was caused by the ranged classes nerf + healing nerf. The solution is not nerfing the 3 classes above, instead they should give a little more healing bonus coming with expertise and put ranged class back to being worth playing... And don't say stuff like "i can still wreck ppl with my sage/commando", i know it's still possible, however they're not as good as they used to be. Not to mention that anyone would take one of the 3 classes listed above in a premade instead of a commando or sage dps. I would pay to have 90% armor pen on hib for my commando instead of 30% So in short, buff ranged pls
