  1. 2 secs durarion with 1,5sec GCD... trade it for a real seperate slow (8secs+) any day,
  2. 1.) PTs are mobile , having rs proc of a stationary attack is stupid. 2.) Yes force the class with only one defensive CD even more into melee, also take into account that there are other specs as well (beside pyro). If you nerf flame bursts range you will hit AP hard. 3.)And while we force the class into melee make sure that their only gap closer (thats already on a CD trice as long as the non stealth melee classes have AND is affected by resolve) is less usable.

  5. And the only way to ensure this is with premades. And that is my argument, again. You will njever have teams on equal footing when you match 8 randoms against 8 randoms. Not in the way of communicating or anything, you can only put in a gear limit for expertise. But if you think that if you put in 8 people with 1,2k expertis vs 8 people with 1.2k expertise and you get a competitive game... well. You will still have the same people who now stand behind firepits, who don't call out incs etc. You will never have competitive games by putting in some limit of expertise. You will have the normal wzs we have now with an expertise limit. Nothing more (like I said if you get matched against a pre you will have a pre on your side as well most of the time). If you curse about the PUG WZs now, that is exactly what you will get than. Only you won't have the good fortune of having a pre or small group that can turn the tide than. Please get that through your head.
  6. Erm like I said you have proper matchmaking of sorts in normal wzs now. Pre vs pre when possible and rest filled with randoms. The topic is about solo ranked queues, 8 people randomly queueing and playing to get more coms. That is what the topic says.

Ranked WZs are for people who want a challenge, who want to play in a complete team against a coordinated opponent and not worry about who is on their own team and forgets to call incs or thinks he is a 1manarmy etc etc. Whats the purpose of solo ranked WZs but to gain ranked coms faster? Not to face premades? That system is already in place, whenever I play normal WZs with a premade I get faced against other premades on a regular base. And the other spots are filled with randoms. What should you get rating for, for having luck and a good team against a bad team? People would quit even more and continue to play like they play in normal WZs, which is horrible for most randoms most of the time.
  8. That Pandapack is a full expansion. Not just a new zone or a new WZ Its something the developer team has worked on for a year or so.
  9. You'd pay twice if you had to buy the small content patches in the future as a sub. Again, emptahize on content patch, not a full blown expansion pack you'd usually buy in the store (like cataclysm etc.). Or would you pay as a sub for a new WZ, or a new planet? Something that in all other games you get for the monthly subscription fee? I for one wouldn't.
  10. New books were free for subs in LOTRO as well. Expansion packs not, but the content patches following f2p didn't cost us subscribers a single Turbine point. You had full access to everything. As it should be.
  11. All f2p games with sub options give new content patches for free for the subs (expansion packs cost, but thats to be expected). If TOR really wants to charge for contentpatches I guess they can really close their offices. But they didn't look at the other games when it came to implement features (groupfinder, crossserver wzs etc), so why should they look at other item shops and see how it actually works...Kinda sad.
  12. I somehow can't take information of an employee serious who doesn't even remember the mirror classes of the game he is supposed to be CM for. Otherwise we'll see, as the reduction of base range would affect all trees and probably the merc as well through the shared pyro tree.

Higher survivability than pure dps? a.)assault IS pure dps (guess you are talking about assaults, shield techs will have higher survivability but no damage to speak of, assault have nice dps but not in the region you seem to be crying about) b.) try comparing it with the other classes in regards of defensive CDs.
  15. Take the fleet when its crowded and imagine that everyone would shoot lightning etc. at each other. Speaking about massive open world PvP concepts with the engine this game has... You don't only have to design the content but also have a working technology. And that is something that is not easily fixed. *edit* RIFTs engine was designed around huge world events (the rifts etc.). It had no problem handling 100+people on one screen beating on a giant world boss all the time. I had a c2d than and had better fps than I had with an i7 on ilum where only a fraction of those people was at peak times.
  16. Most people seem indeed to forget that to lower the CD to one minute we are usually pretty dead in between, if we don't have the luxury of a pocket healer.
  17. I thought like you did. Before I spent countless wzs with people who took the cash instead of the recruit gear and join wzs with 20-40 leveling gear. Before I spent countless wzs with people who start defending our single node after 2 minutes in the game. Before I spent countless wzs with people who can neither type incomings nor read basic tactics in the chat. Before I spent countless wzs with people who don't pass the hb, stand to be charged by every single ballcarrier, get an amazing 30k damage with 12 deaths and 0 objective points, who run brainafk after every single red thing on their screen etc etc. Nowaydays I shrug and know its not worth my time or nerves to play with such people. Like Theron said, as long as I can not influence the complete setup of my team you should not punish me if I quit because I know from looking at the setup of classes/names/gear how the game will end 20 seconds in the wz starting room already.

  20. So when a slinger hits me from 30m with his pistols I look down to my big gun and shrug. When someone throws his glowstick over 30m I shrug again as my big gun must have a malfunction. Not mentioning that it would completely destroy pyro mercs who are designed for the longer range.
  21. First OPs stunlocked people to unsub, than sentinel force choked them and finally Pts set there pc on fire? Sure, it has nothing to do with the severe lack of any kind of endgame and the general single player style the game has.
  22. Uhm you didn't bring a single argument against anything he listed. He explained the burst potential a pyro has at max range and why he needs to be at 4-10m to bring the burst that everyone complains about. He didn't even touch the weaknesses of the pyro (hint: look at the defenses and abilities to disengage). Also this is a teamgame, I am not sure how you manage to keep the resolve bar unaffected from the cc that the rest of the team throws around (to your weak response that he shouldn't fill the resolve bar). He could also have added that grapple has a travel time, so if you run around a corner in that exact second he will smash you against the wall, wasting a 45sec CD and filling your resolve for nothing). His point was that if you compare grapple with any other gap closer you will see the shortcomings it has.

  24. Yes and now try focussing a marauder and than focus a Pyro. You might see a difference.
