Early Access 'Waves' - Updating Here

The ONLY way this should have been done is to have given ALL pre-orders (perhaps separated only by level of game purchased - i.e. CE customers get 7 days, SE get 5, e.g.) access at exactly the same time. Of course it will overload the servers and queues would ensue and all that - but that's what we all expect. Making your customers wait unknowingly with no idea how long it will be or when to expect an email is just adding insult to injury. A poor alternative would have been to send out emails with a set time and day that your access would be available.

 

I read in the top post how you are monitoring the server performance and are rolling waves based on server performance. Are you seriously saying you have to wonder at this point if your servers can perform up to the task - when you probably still have 90% of the launch day players yet to even be able to play? That is not at all a good message to be sending at the beginning of an MMO franchise.

 

At any rate, I love this game. I love BW. But I truly despise and am sickened by the way you chose to put your customers through so much stress for absolutely no good or justifiable reason.

You thought you would get in on day 1 after only placing your order on Sept 1???

I mean come on we all knew it was going to be staggered anyone with a brain should know that if you pre ordered on sept 1 you were not going to get in day 1.

 

I don't get the QQ ya it blows that were not all playing but my god its not like people didn't know about the staggered release.

YOU ARE STILL GETTING TO PLAY BEFORE THE 20TH chill the **** out and wait your turn.

 

 

We'll see how you feel when all of your char. names are taken on launch.

For people saying "they didn't want to flood their servers" you obviously have no idea what an mmo is. Flooding servers is a requirement especially for launch date. If they don't flood them today, they will flood them on the 20th. The only difference, if they let people that pre-ordered in today..they would have about 800,000more happy customers. Same server results only a few days early.

I lost count, are you the 10049th or 10050th player to cancel. I need to now how many people I can jump in front of for EGA.

 

Thanks BW for a kick - butt game, i just cannot wait to get in and meet all of the good people that WILL play the game. :)

 

I am also bit pissed at BW, but I realyl did enjoy my gameplay at the last 2 weekend beta. I aint cancelling, but I aint cancelling for Bioware's sake.

I think the best way to stagger release, would have been to do it according to which version of the game you preordered. I myself didn't bother to buy the Collector's Edition but I believe by paying more money those should be entitled to the game first.

 

Because if you buy an Acura over a Honda your gasoline should be cheaper ?

id like to meet the genius, who thought of that wave invite system....

 

Worst launch ever.

 

Not quite, DCUO F2P launch was a dev admitted disaster.

Then there was APB when RTW had it..

name a wow expansion and you have that

Aion's open beta had so many people log in the servers crapped themselves.

 

I can see where they're coming from, except they tested for stress and logins, purposely throttling people and causing up to 3 hour wait times to get into a server during the weekend betas because "we're doing this so we know what to expect for Early Game Access and Launch", did they lose all their metrics?

I'm abit confused by all the anger I'm seeing in some of these post. To anyone that's gone to a grocery store I call this "Last in line" syndrome. The majority of the rage is from not getting access now rather than later. I'm not seeing those that did get access coming and complaining about "I didn't want play so early, I want to wait." The actual release date is the 20th (19th w/e) there's time. You may not be the first to populate your server and get XYZ quest done, but you have a chance of entering before those a week from now. I'll be working on the release date, so I'm probably going to be even further behind my friends/Guild. I really did want to be the first to pimp out a Smuggler or finish up those Consular missions. Oh wells.
