I can't think of a new game thats come out in the last... forever that didn't have acute FPS problems. Yes, acute. Even if there are hundreds of people in customer service complaining about the issues its still Acute. There will be a patch, just like Skyrim, just like BF3, just like... you get my point. You're experiencing a bug between your system and the engine. Never heard of anyone getting less frames in a cave in my 6 months with this game now. I feeel like a teacher talking to infants so am off to play some Rift, I just hope Bioware get this fixed soon. What a terrible launch this has been. Satans_Chosen Posted December 16, 2011 Share Posted December 16, 2011 I think this game doesn't have enough of the console spirit, at least in combat. I had hoped that the fighting sequence would be akin to those console fighting games. Activating even the base attack as a skill feels a bit cumbersome. Still, as someone who just recently tried out KOTOR (shamefully late), the gameplay feels very fluid. I hope there will be swoop bike racing or other such amneties in the future. For instance I can not rebind the "\" key which is a disgrace tbh. Also the frame rate inside caves and buildings is so bad I actually did laugh out loud. It's not a PC spec issue as I run an i5 with all the trimmings, besides if you visit the tech support forum you will see hundreds of posts from people with i7's and huge graphics cards with the same issue, it's an engine problem. So yeah great launch there Bioware, all these years in the making and no one notices the pathetic FPS? I don't buy that, I think you are well aware of it but your engine can't do anything about it. i dont understand why u have fps problems. maybe it's youre pc? Not a big deal at all really, since movies in theaters run at 24.7 FPS and the human eye can only register about 60 fps. Are these guys using windows 7 32bit? He would crash get possible blue screens and the pc would shut down I dont see him mention any of that. Boreus Posted December 16, 2011 Share Posted December 16, 2011 I think the issues people are having is the result of the engine not being fully optimized and not playing nice with certain cards. I have a 6870, which can easily handle Skyrim or BF3, but I'm having some issues (nothing major though) with SWTOR. It's just not running as well as it should be. None of that makes the game seem like a console port though. There aren't any glaring control or interface quirks or other things you might see in a (bad) port. Gankdalf_ Posted December 16, 2011 Author Share Posted December 16, 2011 FYI Turning off shadows fixes the issue according to many on the forums, it's not a driver issue, besides I run the latest video drivers, I updated them 3 days ago. Maybe new drivers need to be developed but that's a Bioware problem, they have to work close to the graphics card developers and clearly they have not. But keep thinking that the thousands of people having issues all have crap systems with outdated drivers if it makes you feel better. I know you can't cope with this game having real faults. If you feel your complaint is legitimate, post it in the right place.
