Deadfoot
I can't put into words how excited i was when i walked into the casino in Nar Shaddaa, and the crushing disappointment when i discovered everything in there was just for show. All the elements exist for a series of functioning games of chance, and i know ppl would soon make it a second social hub dumping time and money for a chance for credits, vanity loot, pets or even that speeder that's parked over the slots when you first arrive. Has there been any discussion on turning the place into something more than a set piece?
Grotpar
I think there are legal issues for providing casinos in games. I know certain pokemon games cut out the casino because of it.

Thats more because moms of 8 year olds whined about it. I'm sure theres no legal restrictions and it wouldnt be gamebreaking if it had a low limit to bet. UltimateKrucible
I second this. If we're going to have a social hub, at least make it somewhere where's theres them there Twi'lek dancers!
Magnijung
I think the problem is with the rating. If casinos are added it might not be T anymore.

Dreossk
I think the problem is with the rating. If casinos are added it might not be T anymore. TEEN Titles rated T (Teen) have content that may be suitable for ages 13 and older. Titles in this category may contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood, simulated gambling, and/or infrequent use of strong language. http://www.esrb.org/ratings/ratings_guide.jsp They are just too lazy and don't care about immersion. How is that gambling? Not that I agree with a real money auction house, but it's completely unrelated. I think the problem is with the rating. If casinos are added it might not be T anymore. HanzoV
I'm all for this. Also, tie it to social points (if gambling with other players). We need more options than just FP dialogue dice rolls.
Failstar
It's simulated gambling. No real money involved so I don't see a ratings or legal issue. The issue I see is if the system were exploitable or could possibly cause a severe credit bloat. The worry would be RIGHT at implementation, when the first person hits that big jackpot and decides to buy up the entire value portion AH and do a relist or something similar. And gambling without big gains possible...*Shrug*

Failstar
Have you forgotten this is planet earth you're living on? America yes, Planet Earth, no. But if you saw in the earlier post related to rating some wonderful person posted what falls under a game a T rating which included Simulated Gambling. Vlaxitov
How is that gambling? Not that I agree with a real money auction house, but it's completely unrelated. If D3 is anything like D2 was, then the game itself is gambling. The reason you kept playing D2 was "how many runs will it take untill I get something I'm looking for or worth trading for something I want." Now in D3 the tantamount of a meph run will have odds of dropping something with an actual dollar value attached to it. D3 will be way closer to actual gambling than pretend money being spent at a pretend casino.
Shaitanic
I think this is a FANTASTIC idea. The inside of the casino can be a neutral zone (PVP prohibited) and Empires could play against Republics in games of chance against each other or The House. Not sure how many different games exist in the Starwars galaxy but I think I remember some gambling in the movies. The area immediately outside the casino can still be a PVP zone where "fights" could break out over the results of said gambling... Maybe disable quick travel inside the casino so that people have to physically walk outside to the speeder and thus create an incentive for some PVP. Yeah, this is a AWESOME idea and I see absolutely ZERO chance of them implementing something this cool into the game.

HanzBlix
If done right, casinos would actually take money out of the economy, this is a good thing. The odds should always tilt towards the Hutts running the place just like any other casino.' There should be no issue with this from a legal stand point, EQ2 has the gambling goblins all over the place. This would add a whole new layer to the game, and would be a great social point for players of both factions to gather. I love this idea.
Shaitanic
OMG, betting on Huttball games!! And having in-progress games broadcast on screens in the casino. Like a sportsbook area. Man, the possibilities for this are endless!! BW you should get on top of this immediately, this could be a major draw keeping people involved in the game on a whole new level. Hanjoo
Great idea. I know a little of the law and as everything in the game; your character, the gear, credits, everything in the game belongs to Bioware, there is no legal issue with gambling. Mothers of America, well, they already have huttball. If you can have a game, in the game, whereby players actually kill each other in pools of acid and fire traps, a little blackjack should be the last of thier worries.
