  1. Purely nerfing to balance thing is bad. Purely buffing to balance is equality bad. If you only nerf, eventually there will be nothing. If you buff only then everyone is going to run around with god mode. Things will never be completely balanced and thus adjustments will always have to occur.
  2. Think of it in this context. Movies need to be balanced too. You would not want a jedi to run around and 1 shot everything and even he/she does it, there are a lot of everyones. Basically it is either 1) Jedi vs 20 droids = 1 shotting everything 2) Jedi vs 1 Sith = 20 parries 3) Game Jedi vs Sith = 20 continues hits Basically however you look at it, basically same time investment is necessary. The difference is that in a video game, having full blow combat there you have to parry every ability is kind of impossible.
  3. Do you enjoy PvP? If you do, it is fun. If something is fun, why would it be considered a grind? It shouldn't. It is simply playing the game. I could understand this while "I have a girlfriend, job and life" argument when for example to get to the final boss of a raid takes at least 100 hours of game play. I understand physically to an average player it will not be possible to do before the next tier. Even if it possible, it does not leave enough time to experience the content before new content is added. Here. There is 1 activity that you either enjoy or you don't, which is PvP. If you enjoy it, it should not matter if it takes you 50 hours or 500 hours to obtain highest rank. It will not feel like a grind. You will simply do what you enjoy and eventually you will get there. If you do not enjoy it, then why are you doing it? For the title? Why should you get it when you do not like that aspect of the game? For example, in WoW, I loved collecting mounts and I always wanted all the raid mounts but I hated the concept of doing a raid on 2 difficulties and thus I never did hard modes. This meant that I do not enjoy the content thus I should not be able to obtain what the content provides.
  4. The difference is that in your analogy, you need to do 1 thing to get the next thing. In the journey to Battlemaster, you do exactly the same thing. You will do before and after you obtain the Battlemaster rank. Unless you do not enjoy PvP and you are just doing it because you have ADD and need everything obtainable in a MMO. Your analogy would work if it went along the lines of, gather 1000 armament in Ilum and once you do, you will start gaining valor points.
  5. Since the discussion is about PvP, Battlemaster rank to be spesific, means that if you enjoy PvP and then you will participate in PvP and thus you will have fun. By having fun, you will obtain the rank. Why would you not want to be able to participate in what you consider to be fun? Also this is not a job and you are here to entertain yourself. You entertain yourself by participating in the activities that are presented in the game. Why would you want to shorten the journey that in theory you are enjoy (having fun)? Unless the fun aspect for you is to obtain Battlemaster and then sit at the Fleet and look at your pretty rank 60?
  6. And those that want everything faster need to ask themselves, if playing the game is the fun part, why shorten it?
  7. Where did I say that you should not play the way you want? Play how ever you want. You want to play with your brothers, that cool. You can do what ever you want. Your decisions will only affect you and your brothers and if they are fine with them, there absolutely no problems. Discussion of what you are doing maybe brought up if you involve other players. For example, if you want to tank with an operative. Operative AC doesn't have a tank spec. If you tank with it for your brothers and they are fine with, its fine. But if you are with strangers and you try to push onto them that operative can tank well and you tell them they are wrong and this discussion is brought to a forum, your decision will be questioned. When these discussions occur, think in general, not personal. Also how you decide to play is not even part of the discussion of this thread. The discussion is whether it was a good idea to make obtaining battlemaster 3 times faster a good thing. You do not care about it thus you do not have an opinion. My opinion is it was already easy and there was really no need to make easier.
  8. So your logic revolves around, you did it to me thus I will do it to you? 2 wrongs don't make a right. Have you considered that competitive players may be right and you may be wrong? You said that your brothers and you do not participate in flash points nor operations. Meaning that you are not participating in a large chunk of content. Technically speaking, you are not playing a MMORPG. You are playing CORPG.
  9. What? eSports? There is no eSports scene in SWTOR and most likely there will never be one. Also the discussion is about difficulty or longevity of obtaining battlemaster rank. Lastly, you are a solo player that does not want to participate in multiplayer and yet you are trying to talk down and insult players that are participating in a multiplayer game as it is intended.
  10. The prime reason why it should take forever to get these ranks.
  11. I baffles me that they nerfed the ranking process. It wasn't hard before. What is sad that playing a video game and participating in player versus player combat is considered a grind. You have got to be kidding me. Playing a game is grind and grind is not fun which basically makes playing a game not fun. WHAAAAAAAAAAA?????????? If you like pvp, you pvp. You get points. You get rank. If you do not like pvp, you don't pvp. You don't get points. You don't get rank. To people that ask, "What's the big deal, every one is going to have it eventually?" "Exactly, everyone is going to have, why do they need it faster?"
  12. I have little over a million considering I haven't done a single daily and I haven't played for almost a month.

  14. If you don't like your decision, just hit escape and you can redo the dialogue and get credited the new rep/alignment.
  15. Sub ends on the 20th and for the time being I see no reason to resub. The game is good and it is fun but it does not have that need to continue.
