  1. Hi - I took a break during the D v L event, and now I see that it seems to have continued on an become something permanent? How does it work? Further - How do I get these Dark v Light points/tokens, and is the Master Ragnos companion achievable without having done the event? I saw something about an alert? Thanks
  2. That's a really odd decision. I mean, I subscribed (I'm a subscriber since launch, so that's kind of a default) but I can't actually access the expansion except on one Char? Kind of seems that I'm blocked from playing something I bought. Never seen that with an MMO expansion before. As it is, I should say I'm a former subscriber. Cancelled my sub over the gearing situation. This pretty much reinforces that this was the right move on my part. They don't seem to want me to play.

Ok, an odd question - but I played through Kofte on my main and half way on a couple of alts before losing interest - because, and lets face it, a lot of Kofte just isn't worth replaying when there's so many other ways to spend your gaming time. But do I have to finish it, or can I skip it and start the new expansion? If so - how do I do that?
  4. Ah yes! I was on a break (but still subbed) and got back to find out my guild had finally upped sticks from ToFN to TRE en masse. As luck would have it I logged in the day after the price went up. Now I'm all alone on a dying server with my guild far, far away. I don't log in much any more. It's just not the same, and it would cost too much to move my legacy over. Help me, Ben - you're my only hope!
  5. Same problem for me - tried twice, I'll wait for a fix. I hope us 'subscribers' will get some sort of compensation for missing out on 'early' access? That is a perk, right?
  6. This isn't a PvP balance. PvP is so out of whack with healers dominating it's barely functioning. So then along comes BW and nerfs damage ... esp BURST damage. This patch breaks PvP completely.
  7. So thus ends PvP. It had a ... mediocre run, being charitable. Some matches were good, a lot were downright awful. But now there is no point as healers will be completely unstoppable. Nerfing burst across the board means what little chance there was to slow them down has now gone. I'll chuck in my own two cents about my own class - Infiltration Shadow. Suffice it to say you'd have to be completely incompetent to assume it needed getting hit with the nerf bat as hard as this. Sadly, that's about par for the course these days.
  8. Well, I was running the Mandalorian Heroic on Tat and got to the room to kill the final boss, only to see he'd just been engaged by another player. Sent him a quick group invite, he accepted, and the boss went down a smidgeon quicker. No words were said 'cept for a quick 'Thank you' from me. So it's not universal.

Heroic Mode?): All Tatooine heroics (Koth and Veeroa) Heroic Star Fortess (Lana) Your personal experience while playing this content: For the planetary heroics, I barely noticed any change between pre 4.0 and afterwards (sub since launch). Fights take slightly longer but did not pose any significant challenge. I noticed that with Koth dps'ing I was able to one-shot weak enemies if I was striking alongside him in tandem. Strong-level posed no challenge while silver and gold required only a little extra effort than they would pre-4.0. I previously detailed my experience of the Star Fortress Heroic, which I ran without buffs to get the achievement, in another thread. Summary follows:

  12. So, like an idiot, I'd never got the One and Only title before the nerf, so had to do it the hard way. Not going to lie - was probably the hardest thing I've done solo in SWTOR - but it is doable! And it was amazing fun - a real challenge! I solo'ed Voss. I ran it with my Infiltration Shadow, wearing mostly 216 gear, with one 208 piece, Exemplar PvP relics and outlander 208 implants and earpiece. All augmented. Used 27 Inf Lana as healer, except for one fight. The SF itself was no trouble - not even the Zakuul Knights, although the fights were longer than usual. I didn't run into real problems till the second last room at the generator stage, where the two elites and constantly spawning mobs took a long time to down and several deaths. Had to use Heroic moments and legacy abilities plus medpacks. But with stuns and a respec to get every last drop of AOE out of my single target burst class ( thank you, 25% dmg boost to whirling blow) I got through it. Oddly, I changed to Treek (LvL 10 inf) healer for the final room, as someone suggested she was a better healer than the others. True or not, she got me through while Lana failed, although it might have just been I was lucky that time. Boss fight took three goes, and I switched back to Lana as Treek wasn't working. Thankfully, the boss pauses to cast every so often, allowing me to keep my heals up. Again, Heroic moment, legacies and medpack had to be deployed. Beating him was a moment of pure punching-the-air jubilation, so thanks BW for giving me another golden gaming memory. So there you go - it's still do-able. You need good gear and a strong companion, plus a good knowledge of your class abilities, but something this hard should be something you work towards - not given on a plate. Now, I'm off to the fleet with my One and Only title. Who wants to touch me?

I love posts like this "X class is fine, you can 1 v 1 it no problem" ... because they are always talking about the class in a vacuum, not an 8 v 8 WZ where a dozen things are happening at once. I was in a VS the other day where we were defending 1st round. The imps got to the last door where we were able to hold them, and on the return we were able to cap the first one quite quickly thanks to a stealth cap. When we got down to the area with the bridges and forcefields, the imps were able to hold us for an uncommonly long time. Like, a seriously annoying how-are-they-all-still-alive? length of time. Eventually we finish them off and get across, where we stealth cap again, beating their time and winning the match. I was pretty pissed off, though, as it had been a very frustrating experience not being able to kill anyone, so I made a SAY comment about 'bloody healers' or something. Then I checked the leaderboard - they had one Sorc healer with 3.3 million heals. He did that in 1 and 1/2 VS rounds, keeping his whole team alive for whole minutes at one point. I suspect we only killed them off because he got pushed into the gap, tbh. Say what you like, but healing should never be that strong in PvP.
  14. It's a bug, obviously. Before you start the expansion it's a good idea to get the companions out and equip them with pants - anything will do - and weapons. They may appear in a few cutscenes and it kind of spoils the ambience if they are sans pants.
  15. Ah this is so BW - Come up with something great then sweep the rug from under your feet. I remember the long, long wait for gear that looked like something a Jedi would wear. Very similar. Glad I saw this thread as I was just speculating how good Sylma would look in Texan's gear. Saved me quite a few CC there.
  16. Actually I started this thread, having not posted in a long, long time. I've been a subscriber since launch, played the hell out of PvP, but for the past while I've been lvling alts, pveing with guildies - basically not pvping since getting DR on my main many, many moons ago. It's not that I don't know how to kill things. Quite the opposite - I know fine well. It's just that you can't now because PvP is so broken. Nothing works, as a DPS unless it's against another dps who's isloated away from the healers and not guarded. Maybe you can't see - possibly you play a healer, or a tank - or you've been PvPing this whole time and become habituated. Bu having taken a break I'm surprised at the awful state PvP is in.
  17. Nothing they can do against a guarded healer - fight the tank, he gets healed. Fight the healer, he heals. Bring a teammate, he heals, bring 2, he bubbles, runs and heals. Tank laughs off damage and kills you. Seriously, I can;t believe how similar this is to the dying days of Warhammer. It's that broken, which takes some doing, believe me.
  18. It's bled into regs now too. Add up the ever-present curse of premades and PvP is now pointless. Teams running op classes in conjunction means there is simply no point trying to compete if you play DPS. With the amount of heals and defensives you can be lucky to actually scratch some players. I was in a WZ tonight where the entire team got two kills. TWO. That's just broken. I played Warhammer and that game died because of its terrible PvP. SWTOR Isn't going to die, of course - but PvP has and is just a rotting corpse propped up by players who just want FOTM coin tosses.
  19. Two classes dominate - sorcs and PTs. Pointless to play anything else, so everyone rolls one - flip a coin and the match is won. No point learning other classes, or tactics, or trying to enjoy the game. Just roll a broken class and hey ho - game over. SWTOR PvP was once quite good, but has been left behind by PVE advances to become a broken, laughable mess. The only solution is to take an axe to the whole thing, divorce it from PVE and actually make it competitive. But that won't happen, so it's going to go the way of GSF - a minor part of the game ignored by just about everyone save those who want to roll OP classes and flip coins to see who wins. Dead in the water.
  20. Did a few WZ on a mid-bracket Jugg I'm leveling but rarely log onto - the opposing teams were full of Sorc/sages PT/vanguards, almost exclusively. It was horrible.
