Sidious vs Vitiate

Not single handily.

The Difference is Vitiate was able to effect the physical world much more directly. Also Vitiate's consciousness is more vast with all the pros and cons that come with that.

Also Vitiate's stuff is not the same as the vanilla Essence Transfer which Sidious did and was less of an ability.

1. What I meant was, he was behind the whole destruction of the Republic. Yeah he had help in the form of the Clone Wars which again he orchestrated, but really looking at it he's the one that brought down the Republic.

2. What does that have to do with possessing bodies exactly? That's what was being discussed.

1. The stage was set slowly and gradually ever since Bane. Sidious just did the final steps.

2. Just saying. :p

These versus threads are interesting but ultimately rhetorical.

For example, as impressive as Sidious' powers were, the vast majority of his accomplishments are due to playing people against each other and not tipping his hand until he had a reasonable chance at victory. I don't think there is any lightsaber duel or lightning battle between these two folks.

In other words, Vitiate wouldn't know Sidious existed until he had a plan to combat him, and if that plan consisted of having other people deal with him, so much the better.

Lets say defeating Vitiate is impossible. Well, Sidious wouldn't even engage in that circumstance. A draw perhaps is the reasonable minimum outcome here.

First people saying that Sidious learned everything Vitiate knew about the force is an utter complete BULL**** with what part of your brain do you think Vitiate revealed even HALF of his knowedge of the dark side?

Seccondly Vitiate had 1300 years to study the dark side and tap into unknown depths of it.

Lack of combat skill? Ha Vitiate doesn't need it cause you cannot get close enough to him to use the saber. If he needed it he had more than enough time to learn it better than any sith or jedi ever lived. *Perhaps he did* lol

Just do the math consuming the life force and actual power of Tenths of thousand sith lords and trilions of life forms, also add the ziost breakfast to the equation. Think now is it logical this godlike being to have any exploitable weakness at all.

Finally as the guy above me suggested Vitiate not knowing about Sidious's existance until it's too late. You're kidding right? It was all the results of a plan started by Bane. Sidious was there to just harvest the fruits of it. :)

That was nothing more than a mere voice.

PS: Thank you for saving me the time to search for the seccond screenshot :)

Then how about:

"Scourge realized that if she had aimed at the Emperor instead of the blade, she could have ended his life as he ended Revan's. But her instincts to save her friend overrode her desire to kill her enemy"

What is this an indication of, in your opinion? Obviously you have something in mind, if you posted it.

This ridiculous idea that Vitiate's such a Force Titan no one can get close to him? Revan managed it just fine and Surik had the opportunity to kill him. Scourge also made it to Vitiate without being stopped.

Surprise attacks as this is tend to have really good effect against sith don't they? Sidious getting thrown from vader. Maul getting split in 2 from overconfidence against obi-wan.

When this happened it was just his overconfidence and not knowing his oponents capabilities or even who he is facing exactly. Yet again the difference is that he survives the attack disposing of all three of them. Not only that this might actualy prove he ain't totaly clueless with the lightsaber overpowering famed duelist like revan. Not saying he has any excepcional saber skills or anything just basic knowedge, wich in his case might be just enough due to stunning force powers.

I love how people are pulling EU crap into this argument like that's anything. News flash, people. The only canon that counts is what we get on the screen, and Sidious went out by being tossed like a sack of potatoes by a half-dead cyborg over a railing. I don't care what book you point to explaining how OP he is, the Emperor of the galaxy fell and broke his hip.

It's the same thing with Boba Fett. People just can't stand the idea this bounty hunter was owned by Jedi with all of a few months formal training and a blind guy and fell down a giant desert sphincter screaming and crying like a small child watching a Steve Moffet ep of Doctor Who for the first time. Or that Darth Maul was so stupid he lost to a guy who didn't even have the high ground. It offends them! They want so bad for these characters who look like they should be epic to actually be bad@ss that they hilariously overcompensate, trying to make them into these unstoppable forces when in the only canon that really counts they went out like the most embarrassing clownshoes Wiley E. Coyote villains.

Just stop the madness already. Sideous actually lived the dream. He conquered the galaxy. Credit where it's due, but he didn't do it by being some kind of eldrich abomination like Vitiate, he won because everyone else in the galaxy was just so dumb.

News flash: If you use Vitiate you use EU Sidious. Why? Because Vitiate is only in that EU "crap" and until you can find a quote that proves otherwise this rule applies.

Nope. With the exception of maybe the Plagueis book , the other stuff is overwritten by the new movies.

When you compare a character you can't pull stuff out of 2 universes, you use only 1. And in this case the one that is canon.

Going by this logic Sidious wins because SWTOR isn't Canon. So what's your point?

Using a non-canon EU character to compare a Non-Canon EU character makes the most sense.
