Xwing vs. Tie Fighter 2 with a new and original story.

Setting doesn't matter.

Single Player

-Squad based combat for your wing men.

-RPG elements like being able to improve your fighter, wingman skills.

-A story line that is effected by the choices you make in battle, kill or capture, inspections, recovering cargo vs. destroying it, escort missions etc. If you fail you don't go back, it just branches the content.

Multi player

32 or 64 player team or deathmatch style.

AND 5-8 person flashpoint style missions

User creatable content with triggers for events.

And don't dumb it down for console controls.

This could actually be put into tor.

A Pilot "Class" Story if you will.

The pilot goes through a 200 + mission campaign collects companions (wingman) leading up to a massive death star takedown liek climax.

Sprinkled throughout are 8-10 "flashpoint" missions that require a team of 4.

Regular classes get 1 fighter type to fly and little to no customization outside fo equiment but they can fill roles in these flashpoints.

Pilot- All fighter tyeps but specialize between Interceptor and Strike bomber AC.

SW/Jk- Multirole Combat Fighter (xwing)

JC/SI- Light interceptor

SmIA-Stealth Bomber

BH/Trooper heavy Fighter

Well I'd like for them to get creative and start something brand new. Here are some ideas.

I'm surprised we've never seen an Open-World action game because I think it would really fit in the Star Wars universe.

1) Maybe something along the lines of Grand Theft Auto/Red Dead Redemption where you build your reputation as a Bounty Hunter.

2) Maybe a Jedi action game where you survive Order 66. You decide to thwart the expansion of the Empire wherever you can but you have to be hidden the whole time while doing it.

3) A splinter cell/metal gear stealth action game where you're a spy for whatever faction (Republic, Rebels, Empire, etc.)

Just throwing ideas around. I still think an Open-world game is what's needed.

X-Wing: New Republic

or

TIE Fighter: Rise of the Empire

Or like one poster said. Re-release the original games and their expansions with 2012 FX. I would much prefer the military style (No trading, upgrading, etc.) that the old games had..straight and to the point.

Surprised no one has noticed/mentioned this: http://www.gamespot.com/news/lucasarts-hiring-for-fps-aerial-combat-games-6334433

Last month, LucasArts drew attention when it put up a job posting for a gameplay engineer to work on an as-yet-unannounced open-world role-playing game. That's not the only secret project in the works at the publisher, as LucasArts' job pages now include listings for developers to work on an action adventure game, a first-person shooter, and an aerial combat game.

LucasArts has a history in all three genres. In the '90s, the company's X-Wing series of Star Wars flight combat games were among the most popular such titles on the PC. While the publisher also has its Secret Weapons series of World War II-era dogfighting sims (Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe and Secret Weapons Over Normandy), the requirements listed for the aerial combat game position indicate that experience in the genre, "especially space-based shooters," is a plus.

As for first-person shooters, LucasArts has produced titles in the genre both inside and outside of its prized Star Wars franchise. The Star Wars Dark Forces and Battlefront games are the publisher's best-known efforts in the genre, but it also produced a Western first-person shooter in 1997's Outlaws, as well as a more recent sci-fi effort with 2008's Fracture.

LucasArts' other famous film franchise has also provided the publisher with action adventures like Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine and Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb. As for clues from the job opening, it notes only that "experience with cinematic action adventures is a plus."

At the moment, LucasArts has only a pair of upcoming projects announced. Those games consist of Kinect Star Wars for the Xbox 360 and the PC online game Star Wars: The Old Republic, which is primarily being developed by Electronic Arts' BioWare Austin studio.

Battlefront III. It would be alot like the first Battlefront, but added space of Battlefront II

A new Jedi Power Battles game. Could be Episode II or III time period.

Besides those I can't think of anything else

Of course these would be put out for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 -_-. A Battlefront that uses the Wii blaster rifles would be sweet..

X-Wing vs TIE Fighter II.

Just take X-Wing with all expansions, TIE Fighter will all expansion, X-Wing vs TIE Fighter with all Expansions, X-Wing Alliance with all expansions, and update sound and graphics. The rest can stay as is.

I could not agree more.

Imagine what could be done in a multi player Starwars flight simulator.

It would be nothing short of AWESOME!

My only DEMAND!!...Do NOT release a beta version which will need endless patching before it works (Like SWTOR!!!!) I would rather wait a year extra, and have as close to a perfect result, than have to be the developers bug hunters....And PAY FOR IT!!!
