JPeng
Ok I am starting a vanguard and decided I want to spec for PvP and noticed that vanguard has greater capability of maximizing the damage output from HIB than my Commando, except for better odds from Ionic Accelerator. The build I have here is primarily based around having constant DoTs on the target with Plasma Cell and Gut's bleed, CCing with Harpoon and Cryo Grenade and hitting with HIB whenever off cool down. So would like some feed back on this: http://db.darthhater.com/skill_calc/trooper/vanguard/#::f2e5fe4f3ef3ef3ef16e2fefef3ef3e2fe:
Kryptorchid
It's definitely worth a shot to try out, though I think you will get much better mileage if you 21st point in Tactics is Hold the Line, or you shift 1 point from Brutal Impact to get Hold the Line (IMO the better option). I had something similar and it was lots of fun in beta, but that was before people could get PvP gear so survivability was a lot better. Have fun! JPeng
Thank you noted. and since this is a new character I'm starting, would you recommend I start in the Tactics or the Assault tree ?
Raggok
This is similar to the build I've run in some of my movies. However, you really want points in Sweltering Heat for the snare. Also, lose a point somewhere and pick up Hold the Line. This can double as a toe-to-toe or kiting build depending on what you are fighting. Hold the Line is an excellent ability. Feel free to watch my movies to see how the build plays. http://www.youtube.com/user/RaggokOozo/videos I started the build in the assault tree, personally, for the snare and the ranged DoT (great for defending nodes). JPeng
Ok I'll move the points from Paralitic Combat Stims to Sweltering Heat and one points from Brutal Impact to Hold the Line
wintersnight
This is a kiting build. You need Deguass, HTL and Sweltering Heat. There is some dude named Oozo that runs this type of build pretty well. look him up on youtube to see if that is your type of play style. If you are more in to a Tank and Spank build, try Iron Fist on youtube. For the highest damage, but less mobility...try a max Assault spec.. very good burst, but less sustained and 1 less important immunity and 2 seconds more on Interupt. corelina
I am sporting this build. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801GRGozRboZ0MZbIbbdh.1 It's a beast. Takes a lot of people to take me down, and Storm is a godsend in huttball. Although I am considering losing 2 points in Ionic Accelerator for containment tactics. Phixler
I tried that build a while ago, you will constantly be out of ammo.
grandmasterub
Raggok is oozoo... I use almost the same spec except with HEC for pve. Prefer full tactics for pvp though...running ion cell
Fafryd
I've run Oozo's spec and think it is great. I think it is better than Iron Fist or Carolina, for example. However, a big part of that is HTL, which is a great skill and one which is a must have with that much in tactics.
_Exsol
http://www.torhead.com/calculator/sk...robckZfhrbzh.1 (Powertech) Is something I'd been looking forward to running for awhile. There is a lot of synergy between the talents. Rocket Punch has a 45% chance to reset and trigger a free Rail Shot as well as a 25% chance to make your next Rail Shot crit. Flame Burst has a 30% chance to reset and trigger a free Rail Shot as well as a 30% chance to make your next Rocket Punch free. Claw has a 25% chance to make your next Rail Shot crit. Would be interesting to have a play with. Seems similar to the spec mentioned above.
